“Oh, is that for me?” I ask.“Steph we're going home, now!” Brady demands.“You can go home Brady. Mr. Bartender here is going to take care of my problem.” I grin.“No, he's not. You're going home, now, our home!” He orders. He picks me up and throws me over his shoulder and strides out of the bar. Cameron and Tammy are waiting outside. Tammy drives my car home and Brady puts me in Cameron's and climbs in with me. We get home and I go to my bedroom and slam the door. Brady comes in right after.“Are you out of your mind? You were going home with a perfect stranger?” He demands.“He’s not a perfect stranger. Besides it's not your concern or your problem anymore.” I retort.I run to the toilet and throw up. Why did I drink so much? I can’t believe I thought that was a good idea. I'm so paying for it in the morning. Brady hands me a wet rag.I can't talk or I’ll burst into tears. I sit there for few minutes. He's watching me. I get up and brush my teeth. I'm so tired, tired of this emoti
Next morning, I shower and dress then leave my room. Tammy raises her eyebrows as if to ask what's going on. I just grin. Brady walks out of his room and stops soon as he sees me. “Are you coming?” I ask, totally meaning something else. “Ah yeah.” He replies.“Ok let's go.” I reply. We get through half our classes and I’m waiting in the hall for Brady. His last class was with Cameron. And guess who appears? Mr. Entitlement. “So, when are you going to let me take you out?” Chandler asks. “How about...... half....past...Never!” I retort.“I like it when you play hard to get. It makes me hard for you. Makes the challenge more exciting.” He smirks. “You perv!! Leave me alone! And get the hell away from me!” I demand.“I know you want this.” He replies. He grabs my arm pulling me against him. I use both my hands to shove myself away from him but he’s obviously stronger than I am.“Let go of my arm. You’re going to be sorry if you don't!” I warn. All of a sudden Brady grabs him and s
I slowly turn around in his arms to look him in the face. He’s smiling at me. So much love is in his eyes. Looking at me like the old Brady used to. Nolonger a stranger staring at me.There are so many emotions running through me that I can’t focus on one. My breath catches. I focus on breathing. So, I can dare to ask what I pray is true.“You're back?” I whisper. He smiles and kisses me. Then gets up and walks into my closet. Now I’m confused. He comes out with a small ring box. He kneels beside the bed and opens it.It’s hard to breath again. Nestled inside is a gorgeous square cut diamond. It’s not small, but not big either. I know it must have taken him a while to save up enough to buy it.“Marry me?” He asks.“Yes!” I say the next second. He puts the ring on my finger. “I want to make love to my fiancé.”“Yes please!” I agree. After we make love, we start calling everyone to tell them the good news.** CELL **“Mom, my memory came back. And I asked Steph to marry me and she said
“Well mom wanted six months to plan the wedding.” I reply. “Six months?” He groans.“But I hired a wedding planner and gave her three months.” I smile. “I can do three months.” He agrees. We need to decide first where to have it.” I explain. “Wherever you want it.” He replies. “I'm so happy! Looks like someone else is happy?” I grin. “Yeah, it's that bikini you got on. Since I saw it on you, I can think of nothing else than taking it off!” He groans.“You're such a horndog.” I laugh. “I’m not the only one! Didn't you notice Cam and Tammy leaving about 30 min ago?” He asks. “Yeah, I noticed.” I reply.“It's really not fair.” He pouts. “What's not fair?” I ask. “I’m the one engaged, but my man Cam is the one getting lucky right now!” He replies. “Oh you poor boy!” I pout. “That's it.” He demands as he throws me over his shoulder and heads for the house. “My HE man!” I giggle. He smacks my butt. “Oowww.” I yell. “Don't tease me.” He warns.I put my hand down the back of h
The living room was very large with floor to ceiling windows down one whole side. We picked out a large tan leather sectional. The kitchen was very large as well with a huge square island big enough to put food on and still be able to sit at it. There was a nice balcony that was very open. The bedroom was huge with a king size bed, large sitting ottoman at the bottom of the bed, and had a sitting area with a couch and chair. The window had a nice window seat with cushions, perfect to sit in and read. The bathroom had a large tub on one side, and a large glass walk-in shower on the other side. It also had a double sink. And there were two walk-in closets. One for me and one for Brady. I of course got the bigger one. It had built in shoe holders, and a large vanity for makeup and jewelry. I am so loving our new home. After about a week I could tell Brady was loving it to. We "broke in" every room as he calls it. Now it’s time to start studying for the bar. We've been studying for a wh
“And the name of this club is Toxic?” Brady asks.“Yes.” Cam answers.“So, she'll be dressed in blue at something called Bayou?” Brady muses.“Yes.” Cam replies“Boys, party is moving!!! To the limousine!” Brady announces. They whoop and holler and head to the limousine. Crowding into it like a bunch of college kids on spring break.“Ok we need to find something called Bayou.” Brady orders.“Dude what kind of place?” Wesley asks.“Keeping with the theme I’d guess party, crowds, alcohol or food.” Brady replies.“Theres a club called Back At The Bayou.” Jake replies.“That has to be it. Let's go!” He hollers.“You've got 30 minutes to find her.” Cam warns.Brady decides to cheat by calling my cell phone. And listening for my ringtone. Soon he spots me. I’m in a blue hip hugging party dress with a blue Mardi Graw mask.* *CELL* * “You cheated; you will be punished. The next clue will be tricky!” I warn.* *CELL ** “You look gorgeous. I want to be inside you right now.” Brady demands.* *
“Hot damn!! Hell, yeah babe!” Brady replies.“I don't think I can move. You have literally worn me out!” I groan.“Good! You belong right here.” He responds. After about 15 minutes I finally get up. I go to the bathroom to clean up. Then I get dressed.“Where do you think you're going?” He demands.“To mom and dads. Wedding remember?” I remind.“I don’t want you out this late by yourself.” He replies.“I'll order an uber. I'll be fine.” I reply.“Let me get dressed. I'll drive you. Although I am not happy you won't be in our bed!” He sulks.“Tonight, I'll be in your bed forever as your wife. 16 hours to go. You can make it.” I console. He gets dressed and drives me to my parents’ house. He grumbles the whole way, making it known how much he is against it.“So, what did you think of the party game?” I ask.“You witnessed the end result. You tell me.” He replies.“Well, I loved it. It was fun and hot as hell. I liked being chased!” I grin.“Let's quit talking about it, or I’m turning th
We barely make our flight. We honeymoon in Jamaica. The beaches and skies are so gorgeous. It’s like spring break all over again. We laugh and have fun in the sun. Enjoy being husband and wife. The first week was spent mostly in our room. What is it with guys who think you have to christen a new place? But heck, like I’m going to complain! We did get to enjoy the beach some. Our honeymoon assed way too quickly. We are now back home. Our results came and we both passed the bar. Now waiting for the official acceptance to the bar! We're at the office. Getting our offices set up. We started interviewing for assistants today. Our bar acceptance is now official!“I think you should hire one of the guys we're going to interview.” I reply.“Oh really? Afraid of me hiring a good-looking assistant?” Brady teases.“Exactly! We've been there before with good looking girls around you. You saw how that played out!” I remind.“Well thankfully not every girl is like that.” He replies.“How would you
Could I be? Or is it the stress? I wash my face and brush my teeth again. The police escort is here to take me to the hospital. I get to the hospital and Grant is signing his release papers to leave. “We need to stop at the pharmacy. I need to get some gauze to change the dressing on my hand." Grant replied.“Umm, yeah I need to stop and get something as well.” I said. “Oh? What?” Grant said. “Well.. I ah.. Gosh this is so not the time, and so hard to say.” I stuttered. “Darling what’s wrong?” Grant asked. “Well I thought it was nerves, but I’m not sure..” I replied.“Not sure about what?” Grant asked. “I’ve been getting nauseous. And I’ve thrown up a few times.” I explained. “Something you ate?” Grant asked. “No, I don't think so.” I denied. “Stomach bug?” Grant asked. “No.” I replied.. “I don’t understand?” Grant was confused. “I think I might be pregnant.” I blurted. “Say something please?” I begged. “I’m just caught by surprise. I mean I know due to the situation th
The ambulance and police finally get there after what seemed like forever. They take Grant to the hospital but I have to stay behind to talk to the police and the detective. “Yes, that's definitely brake fluid. I’m going to go look under his truck at his brake lines. I’ll also have a professional look it over. I’ll be in touch.” Detective said. “Okay, thanks! I need to get to the hospital.” I said. I go to the condo and get my stuff and call an uber for the hospital. I get there and have to wait in the waiting room until they get him in a room. “Are you family of Grant’s?” Dr.Greene asked. “Yes. We live together.” I replied. “I can’t discuss his condition without you being family or his consent. But he is in a room now and you can see him.” Dr.Greene said. “Thank you, that’s perfectly fine. I understand your policy.” I responded. I went into his room, sick to my stomach. He’s here because of me. Because of my deranged ex. His head is bandaged and his face is pa
KENZIE'S POINT OF VIEW He’s so angry and I’ve not heard him use the f word. Grant’s not the kind that curses, one of the things I love about him. He doesn’t smoke either and drinking is strictly a glass at special dinners. “Why didn’t you tell me earlier? I should have been here to make sure you had an escort home.” Grant said. “I didn’t want you to be worried while you were driving. And we can’t let his bullshit control our life. You have work and I have work. I took an uber and I will from now on, on the days you’re gone.” I said. “Okay, but I want you straight home and not to go anywhere. You’re safe here and at work.” Grant said. “I know and I will. I promise.” I agreed. Good, let’s eat before it gets cold.” Grant replied. After we ate, we watched a movie. And half way through it we couldn’t keep our hands off each other. The rest of the movie was forgotten. “You make me insane everytime I see you. I want to take you to bed and strip your clothes off you. And make lov
KENZIE’S POINT OF VIEW We lay there for several minutes waiting for our breathing to calm down. And I realize this is real love. I’ve never felt this much, it’s more than sex. it’s mind, body, and heart. Wow 36 years old before I find real true love! He leans down and his lips meet mine. No hurry, taking his time enjoying the pure bliss and aftermath of our love making. He lays down beside me and when his body leaves mine I feel so empty. He pulls me into his arms and kisses me again. We’re laying on our sides facing each other. His legs tangled in mine, his arms wrapped around me. END OF KENZIE’s Point of view “Wow, that was amazing. It was the best I’ve ever experienced.” Grant said. “Me too.” Kenzie agreed. “Give me a few minutes and I want a repeat.” Grant smiled. “Ah Grant?” Kenzie said. “Hmm?” Grant said. “We didn’t use protection.” Kenzie said. “You’re not on the pill?” Grant asked. “No. I can’t take the pill. I have a condition that makes me highly suscep
“Yes?” Grant said. “Umm he can’t get up here right?” Kenzie asked. “No he can’t. Even after he gets out of jail don’t worry about him coming back here.” Grant replied. “Okay, would you..” Kenzie started to say. “Would I do what??” Grant asked. “Uh, nothing, never mind. See you in the morning.” Kenzie said. “What is it Kenzie?” Grant asked. “I just, um, I don’t want to be alone.” Kenzie responded. “Would you like for me to sleep with you tonight?” Grant asked. “Would you mind? I mean just sleep, that’s all.” Kenzie blushed. “Go to bed, I’ll be there in a few minutes.” Grant said. Grant made sure the door was locked. Then he went to his room to change clothes. He put on gray joggers and no shirt. “Oh my, I didn’t think this through. I don’t think I’m getting any sleep tonight.” Kenzie thought. “Ah, where’s your shirt?” Kenzie asked. “You’re lucky I have joggers on. I normally sleep in my boxers.” Grant responded. He climbed in bed behind her. Her heart was b
It must be Bob or Grant. Bob has been bragging so much about how well the office is running now. She went to the front desk. There’s a beautiful flower bouquet. “I’m McKenzie Berkley.” Kenzie said. Front desk said. “ This is for you. They are so beautiful.” “Yes, they are. Thank you!” Kenzie said. “Miss me?” Leo said. He’s right behind her and the fear is stuck in her throat. Slowly she turned to him holding her breath.“What are you doing here?” Kenzie asked. “I came to collect my wife.” Leo said. "I don’t know if my face is pale from fear or red from embarrassment as the front desk clerk knows I’m living with Grant." Kenzie thought.“Ex-wife, and I’m not going anywhere with you. I left you and filed for divorce.” Kenzie said. “And I refused the divorce and you are coming home where you belong.” Leo grabbed her wrist. “No I am not! I am home. I live here now!” Kenzie said. “How can you afford this?” Leo asked. “That’s none of your business.” Her face turned red. He squeez
“We don’t need privacy. I broke up with you almost a year ago. Why do you keep showing up where you’re not wanted?!” Grant shouted. “But baby you know our parents want us to marry, have kids, be with our own kind.” Amber responded. “Holden, you were supposed to keep my alien status a secret!” Kenzie crossed her arms. He bursts out laughing and she gives me the death glare. “You think you’re funny don’t you?” Amber asked. “Ah, Holden, you should read this text from Mary.” Kenzie said. “Yeah, I know I am. I’d rather be funny than a desperate woman.” Kenzie said. “Look Amber, for the last time I don’t love you. I am not marrying you. As a matter of fact I’m in love and seeing someone else. So don’t come back here.” Grant replied. “You don’t mean this old hag do you?! Please tell me you’re joking?!!” Amber said. “Shut your mouth! Leave now before I call security! And don’t come back!” Grant yelled. I open the door and held it open. She storms out. “I see, I’m not the only one w
“I want to say yes, but I feel it’s a bad idea.” Kenzie saId. “You saw how big my condo is, It’s paid for. All I pay are utilities. Stuff I pay whether you’re there or not.” Grant explained. “Let me pay half?” Kenzie said. “If it will get you to say yes, okay.” Grant said. “Are you going to tell Leo?” Grant asked. “No, I’ll leave a note when I leave.” Kenzie responded. Kenzie didn't tell him about the one time she packed to leave and Leo threatened to kill her. Telling her he’d rather her be dead than with someone else. Or the many times he said if he caught her with another man he’d kill them both. It’s all talk, she thinks. She's moving 6 hours away and not telling him where. She goes on lunch break to the courthouse and picked up the paperwork she needs to fill out for the divorce. She'll file it the Friday she leaves. Mary and Pat are going to help her pack at the last minute. All she really has are her clothes. Grant is bringing his truck after Leo leaves for work. Her
“I can draft a letter for you and list my info, and say It’s a training trip. And maybe you could stay a couple days?” Grant said. “I don’t think I can afford that.” She responded. “You could ride down with me on Sunday and then I can drive you back when you’re ready. I’ve got vacation days I can take. And I have a 3 bedroom condo. So you don't need a hotel.” Grant explained. “I don't know if that’s a good idea.” She said. “I promise to be a complete gentleman. No funny business.” Grant said. “Okay.” Kenzie said. So I tell Pat and she’s more excited than me. She’s going to help my cover story in case Leo calls my work. When the letter came in the mail Leo threw one hell of a fit. Said he forbade me to go. We fought every day, I almost backed out. But Sunday came and I had my luggage and met Grant at my office so I could leave my car. “How bad was it today?” Grant asked. “Just more ranting and cursing.” She said. “I found several very affordable apartments in goo
