The past ii“Liam?” Kia called, straightening up and clearing his throat.“Where have you been? Your mum, she…”“Kia!” Serenity warned, her fierce fox-like eyes eyeing him. “It’s okay.” Serenity turned to look at Liam, and her eyes widened; she raised her hand to touch his hair, examining it closely. “Hey, Liam? What’s up with your hair?” “It’s the old man, I don’t want to talk about him yet. What happened to your chin Kia?” Liam diverted the topic, moving away from Serenity whose eyes stayed glued to him.“You know the deal already. Can I have this?” Kia asked absentmindedly; he didn’t mind the alarming number of injuries he secured so long he was able to get something into his stomach. Liam looked at his homeless friends and felt guilty about their condition. His wasn’t great either, but it was better than not having a roof over your head. “Give me some time, I’ll get you guys a permanent place to sleep.” He assured them. “Can I just have this first?” Kia was almost swallowin
The past iiiVictor walked out of Jennifer’s room in quick strides, he had the shortening cigar at the corner of his lips. Walking out, he saw Diana’s small back. ‘the weak girl.’ He thought, looking away from her to meet with Liam’s narrowed eyes. “Where have you been?” He asked, walking towards his arrogant son who refused to acknowledge his presence after the initial stare. “Ask your mate.” Liam folded his hand behind him. The startled Diana found her way to Liam’s legs after hearing her father’s voice. Liam looked at the little frightened girl and had no other option than to protect her. “I like your audacity.” Victor leaned on the pillar, took out the short cigar stick from his mouth, and blew out an alarming amount of smoke. “I want to leave.” “Go ahead.” Victor chuckled. “But make sure you are in your room the next time I visit. Or you won’t like me.” “It’s not like I like you already,” Liam muttered under his breath and Victor gave a throaty laughter. “Who are the ne
The past iv“A young boy took over the Blood Moon pack just yesterday.” Beta Stone told the Gamma and the Alpha who looked at him for more details. “A young boy? Age?” The Gamma asked, shifting in his seat; he had a feeling he knew who it was. “Some said he is 16, some said he looks 20, some said he is 14. There are lots of speculations, I can’t find out which is true. I have sent a guard to confirm his identity, he will be back in a bit.” The Beta concluded. “Didn’t the Blood Moon pack belong to your mate?” The Alpha turned to his Gamma who nodded slowly with an unsure but satisfied look on his face. “I guess she doesn’t know how well to handle her pack.” His nonchalance intrigued the Beta.Victor sat back on the chair, there was a hidden smile on his face as he stared at the supposed late Luna’s picture on the wall. He had this spark the Beta could see, leaving the Beta wondering what he was up to. The double door opened seconds after the Gamma’s reply and a guard came in with
The past vVictor made his way into the Blood Moon pack, to the surprise of the pack members, who still hadn’t gotten over the news of a new Alpha. “I see you made it.” His voice got the attention of Liam who stilled for a few seconds and continued his actions like he didn’t just hear his father talk. “Liam, your dad.” Kia had paused completely shaken out of fear.“If you want to be my Beta, you would have to get over this fear,” Liam said in response and turned to face his father. “To what do I owe this visit, Alpha Victor?” “Interesting.” Alpha Victor nodded, his hair as ruffled as he looked around. “All right, guys…” A loud clatter was heard. Olivia, who had a tray of snacks with her, dropped it immediately after she saw the standing Alpha in the room. “Hello Olivia?” He waved and stepped forward but Liam was by her side in seconds. “You won’t touch her.” He bared his teeth to Victor.Raising his eyebrows in surprise, he shrugged and made himself feel at home. Sitting com
Moon’s POVI slowly woke up to the heavily dusty and musky smell; my eyelids were too heavy to lift, so I kept my eyes closed, only making use of my ears. Except for the little shift I heard close to me, there was nothing else to hear. I tried to remember where I was and it didn’t take too much as the memories came rushing in, then the covering of my nose. I felt a tingle in my brain and I realized I was tied to a chair. Not just my hands and legs but my whole body too. I was too frightened to calm down, so I tried to force my eyes open. I didn’t need to try because I felt something skim through my skin. “Aah!” I let out lightly and shakily before my eyes snapped open; it was dark, and I could hardly see a thing. As uncomfortable as it was for me, my eyes still didn’t rest as they tried to pick up what could have run through my thigh. “Moon? You are up?” If it isn’t my brain playing tricks on me; why do I hear Aiden’s voice? I was in a daze for a while. “Moon? Can you hear me?
Aiden’s POV“Congratulations?” I repeated her words. She was silent for a while as if concentrating on something before looking back at me. “Mmm, congratulations.” She repeated. “Moon.” My voice cracked. It hurt so much I could barely lift a finger. Her level of nonchalance was overwhelming. When did she change so much? I belong to Diana now but I would need to do whatever it takes to get her safely out of here even though we would never be together again. Holding her shoulders, she twisted her lips to show disgust, her eyes going from one of my hands to the other. That hurts too, but I guess I deserve it. “I will need to get you out of here as soon as possible but you would need to listen to me if you want to be out of here that quick.” She gave me a quizzical look and I felt stupid. “See, I didn’t orchestrate any of this. It’s Diana; she made me do this, but I can’t watch you get killed all because of a family trauma, so please listen to me, Moon.”She just kept looking at
Diana had left Aiden on purpose with Moon for a while, and not only acted like she expected, but he went overboard. She stepped out of her hiding after waiting for a long time to see the end of his dramatic and heroic act. “How do you feel now? Epic? Do you feel like a hero now?” She asked him, switching on the central light. Moon groaned in pain, closing her eyes tight enough to resist the effect of the light on her eyes. “A simple task and you screw it up.” Diana was furious. “She is still seated, I screwed nothing up.” Aiden became cold and emotionless in seconds; the switch was quick, and even Moon was surprised and could not hide it. “Shut the fuck up!” Diana’s body shook, and her hair shook alongside her. “You would have released her if she had agreed to go back to the Silverstone pack right?” She pointed her right index finger toward the direction she thought the Silverstone pack was in. “Well, she refused to, so…” *Slap!*Moon had her eyes widened at the sound of Dia
Liam’s POVI had stepped out of the gate with the few guards I took with me; I couldn’t feel the initial panic I felt from the mate bond; she was calm now, but that didn’t mean I should be. I had tried reaching out to her severally through the mate bond, but she only kept quiet. I guess she hadn’t gotten a hang of using it yet. I still had a weird feeling looking at the almost invisible building close to the pack gate so I decided it was high time I checked it out to avoid regrets later. “A few of you stand by, the rest follow me.” I directed, and they followed me into the house. I only took four steps but I heard his voice already. ‘Listen to me Moon!’ reverberated in the almost empty and abandoned building. How dare he lay a hand on her! Folding my hand in the air, I stopped the rest from following me. “Stay here; I will give a signal when it’s time,” I whispered to them, and they nodded at me. Following the direction of the light, I came to a pause at the door as every word
Moon opened her eyes to see Victor on his knees with his hand on his open stomach. A gory sight to behold. She looked at her hands soaked with blood and her eyes widened. She wanted to feel fear but she only felt disgust. “I can’t believe I have your disgusting blood on my hands.” That was what she said. Moon almost bit her tongue to stop herself from talking but still talked anyway. She felt afraid yet courageous, she felt alone yet with company. Alpha Victor looked at her but he wasn’t surprised.“I knew this day would come.” He has his hands trying to stop the blood gushing from his belly. “You did? I doubt.” Moon walked closer to him and Liam almost shouted her name to stop her. “I didn’t kill you on purpose.” She sneered at him. “The next time you’d teleport in here again to cause havoc will be your last.”Victor looked at her before smiling, his teeth were bloodied. “I don’t need to. I have seen your future. You’d be worse than me.” “I will never be you.” She spat. “How
Moon POV. My face burned when I heard his words. Alpha Victor, the devil behind my misfortunes. I feel my teeth gritted on their own; I struggle to control my anger, the pains from my past, and the trauma I have been through. What was he doing here? Did he come to get his daughter? Did he come for Liam? “Alpha Victor?” I asked the man who looked up at me from his bent posture and he nodded, coughing in-between. I bit my lips till I tasted blood, the pain and misfortunes riling up my anger even more. I felt powerful; the angrier I felt, my eyes felt hot, my nose itched, my breath harbored, and my entire body trembled. My fingers would have dug into my palms and drawn out blood if I hadn’t bitten them off due to nervousness. “What does he think he is doing here?” I felt my lips tremble. If I looked scary, I don’t know, but I saw everyone shift away from me except Liam, who struggled to stand to his feet and covered my palm with his. “Moon, you have got me.” His voice penetrated
Placing a hand on Moon’s hand, a soft glow enveloped both Moon and Harper, healing them all at once. It was risky but Liam found it more risky if anything happened to Moon. He felt weakened; his shoulders sagged as he groaned but still held on till Moon pulled out and held on to him, but his weight was much on her. Her hands gave way and he fell to the floor. “Liam?”“Alpha?” “Liam!?” The rest called in panic and concern but Alpha Rex only got startled before looking on.“Liam?” She called, wanting to touch his face but Liam held her hand mid-way and shook his head at her. “Don’t.” He shook his head, smiling weakly at her. ***Appearing right in front of the pack house, which had a group of gossiping females, Alpha Victor startled them, and they began to scream at the sudden appearance of a handsome, elderly-looking stranger in their midst. Looking straight into one of their eyes, he manipulated their mind. “Take me to Liam.” Just like a fool, she walked ahead without a stop
“Kia?” Olivia entered the sick bay to see a back full of blood. “Kia!” She called with more urgency as she rushed towards him. He turned to look at her before melting into her trembling arms. “Aunty?” He whimpered. When Olivia’s eyes met Harper’s body on the bed with her uneven breathing she tried to understand what happened. “What is it?” She looked into his eyes. “My Baby.” Kia pushed his lips to the side, his eyes staring into the distance. Olivia disengaged from the hug completely. “The baby is yours!?” She didn’t know if she should be happy at the news or disgusted at the lady who chose to make herself an object of shame. “Yes, but…” Kia stopped to get a hang of himself. “But?” Olivia left him and walked towards Harper. “It is in danger.” “She tried killing it off?” She stared at Harper on the bed and refused to touch her. “She tried killing its father.” Serenity exposed. “What?” Olivia snapped her head towards Kia whose eyes snapped shut, refusing to look anyone in t
“I reject…” “Wait!” Serenity had screamed at him, the painful ripping of her heart was overwhelming. She could not bear to hear him say it all out. “Please don’t.” She found herself pleading. “I can’t do this anymore. We can’t do this.” He said robotically. “Aiden.” She called him, holding onto the sticky bar, not minding the stench and the severity of the situation. “Leave.” Aiden looked away. “I can’t. We are mated.” Serenity found herself saying. “I killed her,” Aiden confessed, putting her off. “What!?” She would admit, she was shocked. He smirked at her shocked expression as if that had been his expectation all along. “Serenity!” Someone called her from the entrance. “Please leave if you are in.” Another ordered. She knew she wasn’t supposed to be there, it was the rule but she didn’t mind violating this rule. “We will come in two minutes, and we request you leave, or else we won’t be responsible for whatever reaction you get.” The head prison guard said this time.
Alpha Rex sat with his shoulders sagged on Olivia’s high bed. He couldn’t and didn’t look at her face, he only listened. “Alpha Victor, he made me a clean slate.” She sniffled, her shoulders shook. She went ahead to recount what happened up until the day she met Liam. “He was a lonely and depressed little boy.” She sniffed again, before blowing her nose into her handkerchief. “He poisoned me. He…he used his abilities on me.” Alpha Rex’s face was in a frown as he stared at the floor. He hadn’t still forgiven Liam for what he did to him years ago; he would have almost died if Victor, his Gamma, hadn’t saved him. But even that was a ploy too. Olivia looked up at her Mate, standing up, she came and sat beside him, putting a hand on his shoulder. “Would you believe me if I told you he didn’t do it because he wanted to?” She asked him. Alpha Rex looked at his long-lost Mate with shaky eyes. “What do you mean?” “Rex.” Olivia sighed. “He would have refused if he didn’t want to do
Kia looked down on the kneeling Harper who held his kneels like her life depended on it. “Please, Kia.” Harper was on her knees, her hands holding his legs tightly. “Is the baby mine or not?” He looked ahead after asking her the question. “Please.” She repeated and he banged his hand on the wall. “That is no answer to my question!” His lips were trembling as he looked at the woman he once loved with every fiber of his being. Harper swallowed; she knew she had no chance with Liam anymore, so she wanted to do anything to get Kia to take her back. Yes, she was pregnant for real, and no, the child wasn’t Liam’s; she just wanted to be the Luna of the pack. But seeing her competitor had an Alpha for a father already put her off track, there was no way in hell she could compete with that. “The baby…” She held her stomach, tears rolling down her eyes. “Yes? What happens to the baby?” He questioned. “The baby, it is…yours.” She whispered the last word. “It is mine?” Kia bit his lower
Serenity walked absentmindedly down the stairs to the underground dungeons. She didn’t know what she was doing; she didn’t know why she was walking down here. Maybe she knew, she just could not stop herself. “Hey, whatcha doing going down in there?” A prison guard held her hand to stop her from advancing. “Let go of me, I need to get something confirmed.” Her voice was cold, she did not bother looking back either. “Haven’t you considered my proposal yet?” He asked, still holding onto her arm. “I won’t repeat myself.” She just added, her eyes looking through the metal bars of the closed dungeon. “See Babes. I like you and would do whatever it is you want, just…” Serenity made a swift turn, hooked her hand under his armpit, locked her legs with his, and within a couple of seconds, he was thrown to the hard floor. “Ooowwfff! What the hell man!” The prison guard was almost in tears as he tried to roll off the floor to get to his feet. “Learn to stay off when told.” Serenity warned
Joana, whose breath almost eluded her ran as fast as she could towards the rogue pack and ended up unconscious by the gate. She was picked up and brought into the Alpha’s court. “What is this?” Alpha Victor, who got down to chain smoking to calm his sudden wrecked nerves, asked, his head pointing towards the now transformed Joana on the floor. “We found her by the gate.” One of the burly-looking men with a long mustache replied, gently kicking Joana on her stomach. “Wake her.” He looked away, smoking off the cigar in her hand. Taking a bottle of water, a tomboyish-looking woman sprinkled it on Joana’s face till her eyes fluttered open. Coughing with her hands flying towards her nose to stop her from inhaling the nauseating smoke, Joana tried to understand her environment. She thought back to what happened before now but her brain went blank. “What brings you to my pack woman?” Alpha Victor’s deep voice asked. Joana straightened up immediately upon hearing Alpha Victor’s voice
