LEAVING MY HOME

I opened my eyes and looked around this familiar room. The pack hospital, I’m here again in my second room.

"How are you feeling Kath?" Sam asked.

After my Dad hurt me, Sam always helped me. He still loves me and considers me as his sister. He always defends me against all who fight against me.

"Better, how long I've been here." I pushed myself to sit and ignore the pain in my back. I’m sure it will leave another scar on my body. I don’t want to look at my back in the mirror anymore, I don't want to see how terrible it looks like after receiving too many whips from my father.

"You've been out for two days." Sam, my brother, said. He gave me a bottle of water and sat next to me, checking my pulse. He knows medical stuff. He wants to be a doctor, but his destiny is not for that. Still, I told him to study medicine on his own in his free time, so he can still do his duties while doing what he wants.

"Two days? I skipped Lory's birthday yesterday." I feel sad because of what happened. I missed my best friend's birthday. I feel awful.

"Don't worry about it, Kath." Sam

"It's so sad, she's my best----"

"Surprise!!!!!" The door suddenly opens and my crazy friends walk inside with balloons and food in their hands.

"You've got to be kidding me guys," I said.

I'm still grateful because, somehow, I have friends who I really know that care about me.

"Well, since you missed the party yesterday, we decided to create a new one here," Lory said.

"Look, I got your favorite." Andrew

"Pizza!!!!" I exclaimed.

"Party in the hospital is on!!!" We celebrated Lory’s birthday inside my hospital room. My brother leaves us to have some fun and to do his duty. He will be the alpha of this pack. That’s why our father is giving him so many tasks and ordered him not to skip training.

I wish every day would be like this, full of happiness and full of love. But destiny doesn't seem to agree with me, because after I say that someone comes and destroys everything.

The door suddenly opened and revealed my Dad, who was looking at everyone inside my room.

"Leave us," he ordered.

My friends hurriedly leave us. My father is a good alpha, but when it comes to me and the people close to me, he is very strict.

"Dad” I used to say his name with adoration, but now it’s emotionless.

"I hope this will be the last time we will have this kind of problem, Katharina."

That's why he came here, to scold me. Anyway, is there anything new here?

"Yes, Dad." 

"No more disobeying, don't push me to my limit, Katharina. You need to stop doing such stupid things that might endanger our people. You are no longer a ten-year-old girl who plays around and does what you want to do."

"Dad, I just want to see the new King. Mom always tells me to---" he cut my words.

"Don't bring your mother into this conversation. She's with the Moon Goddess now. You will be locked in the dungeon for one week and that's my decision," he said.

"Daddy, what makes you so heartless? Why are you still blaming me for mom's death? Why Dad?" I asked.

I'm hurting. It is not my fault that my mother died, but why does he seem to blame me for everything that happened? No one wants their mother to die, especially me. I love my mother so much. She’s my everything. My armor, my shield, and my comfort zone.

"Because it is you that brought her to death, I never wanted a daughter, she's the one insisting on your existence but you let her die because of your stubbornness and disobedience!!! I see no daughter in you after what you did."  He said angrily. "Now, you will be locked in the cell for one week. No one can visit you there and if you dare to escape, I will exile you in my pack."

"You've got to be kidding me, Dad."

"No, I'm not Katharina."

"But Dad--"

"Do not question your Alpha, Katharina."

I looked at him in the eyes. How can my father, my own blood, do this to me? I love him, even if he's doing this, but threatening me about my status in the pack is too much.

"You really don't like me, Alpha Ramus," I said, calling him by his name.

He looks at me, disbelief shows in his face at what I said. Never in my life had I called him by his title. And name. But today, I see no father in him anymore. He is not my father, he is not the one I have adored since childhood. This man is no longer my father. I accept it. We are not family anymore.

"I think you know the answer to that question, Katharina." 

"Then I will leave the pack. I will no longer be your pack member. Tonight, I will leave and you will never see me again," I said.

This is my choice. I need this and my father needs this.

"Then this is goodbye." He said before leaving and not looking back.

"Katharina, this is insane!!!" said Sam.

"No Brother. I think this is the right thing to do."

"No, it's not. I can't believe Dad agreed with this. Maybe he is just mad because of what happened." 

"No, Sam, he's not. Don't worry about me. I will find another pack who will accept me.” I know there is still a place in the world for me. We have seven packs. Maybe one of them will accept me.

"But you belong here, you belong with us." 

‘Really? I don’t feel that way.’ I said to myself.

"Not anymore." I hugged him very tightly. I will surely miss my brother so much. "Don't worry about me, be strong. I will call you the moment I find a new place to stay."

"This thing shouldn't happen if Dad moves on. He's blaming you for our mother’s death."

"I'm also blaming myself, and for us to move on, I need to leave. Goodbye Sam." I said, leaving him.

I don't know what is waiting for me outside, but all I want is to leave this place, breathe, and experience life without anyone telling me what to do. I need a life of my own.
