When I snapped out of the daze, and the voice went silent inside my head, Izer was standing right in front of me, holding my upper arms and keeping me steady on my feet.

It had felt like an out-of-body experience. I was in front of them for a moment, but then I was in some other world that I knew nothing about.

But this time, at least, the entity had communicated with me. It had said I locked it up somewhere and whatever this was, needed revenge on me.

I sighed, instantly dropping my face on Izer’s chest. He wrapped his arms around my frame and kept me close until I could breathe again.

“ What was it? ” Izer asked the woman still kneeling on the floor of our sitting area.

“ She was inside my head for a second. ” Her raspy voice replied.

I drew my face out of Izer’s chest and looked at the witch. She was wide-eyed and seemed equally surprised, just like me.
