Leo.

I didn't waste any more time in going back after that. Following the security check, I gave a few instructions before handing over the rest. When I came out, Gino was still outside.

It was as though he read my mind when he looked at me looking ready to leave. It was more likely that he knew me too well. I had never abandoned work, and there were very few reasons for me to do so. Sierra was safe wherever she was at the moment, so that narrowed it to one. He gave me an assured smile before exhoing my thought.

“I'll take care of the rest." He said, jerking his chin forward. “Go be with your woman."

‘My woman.’ That was most definitely new. But no matter how hard I tried, it didn't sound completely unpleasant.

I tried not to think about it as I drove back to my pack. The sky was blooming orange, giving a hue to the house when I finally reached.

To my expectations, I heard laughter shortly after I opened the door.

I closed it quietly, slowly stepping into the living room.

Leo.When I woke up, I knew I had made the right choice as I stretched, feeling every bit refreshed. The sun was already going down, so I knew that dinner was likely ready. After a warm bath, I changed into a pair of comfortable sweats before I exited my room.Stepping into the dining area. I met Isabella and Treasure there alone.“Sierra said that she'll text you later and Agathe retired to her house. So it's just the three of us.” She said.Seeing her so comfortable in the home I grew up in felt so different than when she was once here as a guest turned acquaintances to mutual friends. Now she was here as my… girlfriend? Mate? Mother of my child? All of the above? There was no way to place her in my life. And I liked it that way. She was just Isabella. My Isabella. And that was enough.I sat down eating whilst talking to my ever animated son. Together we had put him to bed right after, her watching silently while I read the book he demanded me to read until he fell asleep.Watch

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   But there is something else.

Isabella. I recalled the words Sierra had murmured in my ears that day.“For now."I cleared my throat, earning glances my way. Instantly I changed, giving an assuring smile to cover up my flustered reaction. When their eyes soon left mine. I quickly took a glass of water. To clear the flush on my skin.I was still in the bookshop, working when it came to mind. Serena's statement sent me spiraling that same night after Leo had accepted to take things further. The thought of having another child felt like a distant dream and I didn't really think about it anymore. It was, however, the physical activities implied that made me flush. Still, there was no use.It had been less than a week since then, and so far nothing had happened. At least, not yet.“Who is that?” People gaped at his presence there. I turned in time to see a familiar frame coming in.Despite the wealth he had amassed, he was still very withdrawn, to the point of being elusive. I was sure that in the eyes of the others,

Isabella.Time flew by, yet it felt like I could spend even more in this moment.Every kiss was slow, burning me from the inside. Our tongues mixed in with each other, every movement eliciting a sigh from my lips. I let my instincts take control, every inch of anxiety leaving me.I had never felt this way before.Over time, our positions had changed. He was resting further on the couch whilst I was over him, my hips bracketing his frame on the couch. It was an uncomfortable and awkward position considering where we were, but it didn't matter to me. His hand was on my back, gently pressing me toward him whilst his other hand threaded through my scalp, sending even more waves of shivers. On occasion, I left his lips to focus on his neck, reveling in the way his grip slightly tightened at the feeling. I wasn't afraid in any way.He did the same to me, and I could only sigh against his ministrations. Most of the time however, we settled for our lips. The heat that ran through me made me

Leo.When she turned back to me, I noticed the perturbed look on her face. The words that I had prepared in my head slipped away, a bout of worry taking over.I stood straighter, all the traces of my erection gone as I reached out to her.“What's wrong?" I quickly asked, looking her over to perceive what had happened. What did she hear over the phone call? As she looked up at me, she silently shook her head, giving a small smile. I could tell it was forced and shaky.“It's nothing." She said, moving toward me slowly. But it wasn't nothing. Especially not to me. Anything that affected her couldn't be simply nothing in my eyes. So when she came in closer enough to my reach, I gently grasped her arm, meeting her surprised doe eyes.“It's not nothing. Not to me,” I said.Slowly but surely, I saw her small frame slowly give, relaxing in resignation.“Is it okay if I sit down next to you?” She asked me hesitantly. Why was she being so tentative? When I saw her look down at the pillow that

Isabella.“You two aren't going too fast." Sierra rolled her eyes.“I agree," Claire said, taking another sip of the drink she held.We had met up like we used to, Claire excited to reunite physically with Sierra, and we had been talking for a good several hours before I brought my worries up.My worries surrounding accepting Leo's offer. I knew that engaging in the pack run with him in Violet's form was going to spark up even more of the newfound instincts I had now. It was even more intimate for a reason after all.Which was why by the next day, the thought had soon come to me. And now…“You two have had at least half a year of slow burn falling in love and six years of longing for each other, followed by the past few months of doing nothing but being chaste. I'd say that this had taken far too long." Sierra rolled her eyes. The way she said it so blatantly made me flush.Claire, on the other hand, looked just as befuddled. “What?" She said incredulously.I sighed, deflating.Claire

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   The meeting.

Isabella.By the time we entered my apartment, I was still flushed from the seemingly short yet intense kissing spree I had had with Leo back in the pack house. It didn't help that at this moment, he was still holding my hand like he did all the way through the car ride to the city. To my relief, there was no sight of clear or Sierra and Treasure, meaning that we hadn't spent as long. I sat awkwardly on the couch whilst he shut the door. Now strangely enough, I couldn't find it in myself to take my eyes off him as he moved.I traced him as he entered the kitchen area, grabbing a cup before he came toward me. I accepted it thoughtlessly, not even bothering to take a sip as I watched him sit down beside me.“Why are you looking so much?" He smiled.I remembered when his smiles were so rare and bright occasionally. Then he was more brooding, more quiet, and a silent comforting presence. Now they came so easily, yet every single one still managed to make my heart skip a beat. I couldn't

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   Long time, no see.

Isabella.Today was a holiday, which meant that there was no need to open up shop.At Treasure's request, I dropped him off with Sierra, who had apparently promised him a carnival ride. I rolled my eyes at Sierra's over-the-top attempts to station herself as the best aunt in the world in his eyes, but I left him with her nonetheless.“Have you heard from Leo?" I asked Sierra once Treasure was in the house, already engrossed in watching a cartoon show. The last time I had spoken to him was the night before yesterday. “Damian said he came for the alliance meeting yesterday looking pretty worn out, at least compared to his normal look."I let out a sigh. It wasn't surprising considering what he was going through now, but I wished that I could have done something. Even though I knew he had all the help he could need in the form of his pack and employees. To my surprise, Sierra patted my shoulder. “Don't worry, Izzy. He'll be fine. I think you're helping him well enough by speaking to hi

Isabella.I practically raced all the way to the other side, reaching the restaurant in record time.I ignored the stares as I got to the door, rushing toward him.He sat alone on one of the restaurant tables, standing up right before I reached him.Without any hesitation, I wrapped my arms around him, hugging him tightly. I heard his grunt at the impact, but still grasped him as tightly as I could. There were several scents mixed in with his own, but deep inside was the familiar scent of family. Of pack. Even though I wasn't really a part of the pack anymore.“I lied." He chuckled breathlessly amidst my tight grip. “I really really missed you."His words made me smile.Once I separated from him, I looked up at him. To my dismay, from up close, the exhaustion could be better seen from the slight shadows underneath his eyes, and the stubble that I knew wasn't natural for him to keep. Even though his smile was genuinely happy, there was still exhaustion written over it.And that worrie

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   Epilogue.

Isabella.Treasure played freely amongst other children. The happiness in his eyes made me smile from the window I watched him in.He had taken to them very well, free to reveal his claws at any time, compared to before. After what felt like minutes of watching, I settled back down onto the couch, filled with stacked books I was hoing to remove for the day.I settled into the dark couch where even before I left, it gave comfort. Now I needed that more than ever.It felt like before, yet everything was so different. Now Sierra came occasionally, no longer a resident of the pack yet still belonging to it. She had all the grace of a Luna. It was something I had known for a long time, yet pleased to see nonetheless - nevermind that I still beat her whenever it came to sparring. The biggest difference, however, was me.I had once come here as a guest, hiding myself away from the pack and not wanting to get attached. Now I was here as Leo's mate and the first and new Luna of the rogue pack.

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   Let’s go home.

Leo.I looked at Isabella who bore a stricken look. The disbelief in her was the same one I faced. This was the first time I had physically seen the person right in front of me, and as I looked at him, an open scar on his face with his hair in disarray and his eyes crazed, I knew what my answer would be.Turning to Isabella, I conveyed all I needed to, squeezing her hand lightly. She seemed to understand as she nodded. I let her go, walking toward the man who looked more pathetic as his hopeful eyes looked up at me.“I have no need to fight you, Darius, because there's nothing to fight with you about."I saw his expression morph into a frown and anger light up in his eyes in response, but I wasn't done.“Isabella is not a bargaining chip, nor an object to fight over or own. I doubt that you will understand that as you are now, but it's the truth. Scum like you deserve a terrible fate, and though I'm glad that Isabella is by my side now, I wished she didn't have to face someone like yo

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   The challenge.

Isabella.A chill went through me at the news. Looking at the rest of them filled with shock and plenty of questions, there was nothing we could do but wonder. How did they figure it out already? Was this part of their plan from the start? I saw a mix of emotions, none of them positive on everyone's face. It was only a light squeeze that made me turn to him.Leo's startlingly blue eyes couldn't cool down my tension, but it eased it a bit.And for a moment, knowing everything else, I only let one thought reverberate through my mind.Everything will be alright.…..Throughout the next few days, we had mobilized everybody possible. They had announced to the pack and the council of elders everything that had taken place, never leaving a single detail out. The pack was in an uproar, yet in a discussion of our allies, they felt mixed emotions.I looked around at the people around me. People who had once judged me in favor of the person who was now the biggest threat to the pack. When I sp

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   Darius and Lucy escaped.

Isabella.Together we left for the Alpha's quarters, only to see my parents.Surprise filled me as they also stood up.“What are you two doing here?” My mother demanded, eyeing both of us.“Please," Isabella pleaded.I stayed as she explained every word that she heard in the forest, and I could see every single one of their faces turned grave.“Isabella, are you sure that that was everything you heard?"I wanted to nod, but held back. There was still one thing I was holding back.“When they spoke, Lucy said that he needed her. Not just because of the rogues, but…”I knew that this was sure to hurt, no matter how much I steeled myself to say it was Leo's light squeeze that made me shut my eyes and finally let go.“Because she knew the truth behind his father's death."A shattering sound.“Melissa!”I whipped my head in surprise as I saw that Darius's mother was suddenly laying on the floor unconscious. The implications of my words were clear to everyone.I could only keep still, watch

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   Discovering the truth.

Leo.The moment she had frozen, I already sensed something was wrong. Two people, whom from the look on her face, she recognized were speaking.Closing my eyes, I heightened my senses to hear what they were saying. The first voice was a rough one that undoubtedly belonged to a man whilst the other was a woman.“You said that it'll work, but they haven't made any moves since.” Said the male one.“I mobilized all these rogues and I promised them domination. Do you think that it was easy?”Rogues? The mention of them.“Or better yet, do you think calming them down was? After they'd lost two people to your damned pack, you should be lucky that they haven't turned on you."“Shut the hell up.” The male voice spat out.“You can't get rid of me. Not when I'm the only one who knows the real secret behind your father's death. Not while you need me to appease the rogues while you mess up and no nothing. Not while I look like your dear–” The woman spat out.“–Shut up!” The words were so loud I wa

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   Our home.

Isabella. The next morning was far from normal. The only way it could have been described was cold.Neither of my parents were speaking to me, not even as I prepared breakfast earlier in the morning as an appeasement. They avoided my gaze as much as they could, never speaking a word.It hurt, the silent waves of disappointment that ebbed out of them. I braced through it however.Even little Treasure had noticed it.“Where's daddy?” He whispered to me. I noticed that my parents had stopped eating, either hearing or rightly assuming Treasure words.I attempted to smile at him. “He's not here, but we can visit him if you'd like,” I spoke invitingly. Before Treasure could say a word, I heard my mother's voice for the first time that morning.“Treasure dear, why don't you follow us to the pack gardens? There are plenty of beautiful animals there.”I stiffened at her passive aggressive nature. Yet when I looked at Treasure's imploring eyes which silently asked me for what to do, I gave a sl

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   Welcome to the pack.

Leo.The pain Isabella bore on her face made me want to hold her, yet those doubts and fears I thought I had rid myself of stopped me short, leaving me helpless and hollow. The night was silent and cold. Peaceful. It was a complete contrast to the violence that had occurred in what should have been less than 20 minutes ago.The pain from the hands that choked me still ached every time I swallowed, yet I kept silent.I almost flinched when I felt the brush of a hand, only to relax as there was only one person who could do that. I let her wrap her hand around mine, sighing at the guilty pleasure of her touch. When I turned to look at her again, all the warmth I gained drained away. Her eyes glistened with tears even as she stared stonily at the distance. She was devastated. From her parents' reaction to the way it all came crashing down.I vaguely realized that she was trying to do that. Comfort me. In turn, I held her closer, hoping that she gained a bit of warmth as well. When Connor

Isabella. My blood ran cold, yet I kept a smile as I turned to Treasure.“Treasure, I think it's time you went to bed," I said.He looked at me for a moment before nodding.“Okay, mommy. Goodnight.” He turned to Leo and oblivious to the tension in the air, told Leo. “Goodnight, daddy.” I heard the slight suck of breath from one of my parents, but I focused solely on my son, nudging him forward.“Go on then," I said, as he yawned before moving up the stairs.I watched him carefully until I was sure that he was out of sight and earshot. The sound of his guest room door shutting made me let out a breath of relief.I shouldn't have let my guard down.It happened instantly. One minute, we were all sitting on the table and in a flash, a person pinned Leo to the wall.“Dad!” I called out, panic filling me as I stood up, speeding across the room.My father was on his full feet, his hands wrapped around Leo's neck. Goddess! He was choking him!Leo remained still. Whether he was still in shock
