Isabella.

By the time we entered my apartment, I was still flushed from the seemingly short yet intense kissing spree I had had with Leo back in the pack house.

It didn't help that at this moment, he was still holding my hand like he did all the way through the car ride to the city.

To my relief, there was no sight of clear or Sierra and Treasure, meaning that we hadn't spent as long.

I sat awkwardly on the couch whilst he shut the door. Now strangely enough, I couldn't find it in myself to take my eyes off him as he moved.

I traced him as he entered the kitchen area, grabbing a cup before he came toward me. I accepted it thoughtlessly, not even bothering to take a sip as I watched him sit down beside me.

“Why are you looking so much?" He smiled.

I remembered when his smiles were so rare and bright occasionally. Then he was more brooding, more quiet, and a silent comforting presence. Now they came so easily, yet every single one still managed to make my heart skip a beat. I couldn't

Isabella.Today was a holiday, which meant that there was no need to open up shop.At Treasure's request, I dropped him off with Sierra, who had apparently promised him a carnival ride. I rolled my eyes at Sierra's over-the-top attempts to station herself as the best aunt in the world in his eyes, but I left him with her nonetheless.“Have you heard from Leo?" I asked Sierra once Treasure was in the house, already engrossed in watching a cartoon show. The last time I had spoken to him was the night before yesterday. “Damian said he came for the alliance meeting yesterday looking pretty worn out, at least compared to his normal look."I let out a sigh. It wasn't surprising considering what he was going through now, but I wished that I could have done something. Even though I knew he had all the help he could need in the form of his pack and employees. To my surprise, Sierra patted my shoulder. “Don't worry, Izzy. He'll be fine. I think you're helping him well enough by speaking to hi

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   A big surprise.

Isabella.I practically raced all the way to the other side, reaching the restaurant in record time.I ignored the stares as I got to the door, rushing toward him.He sat alone on one of the restaurant tables, standing up right before I reached him.Without any hesitation, I wrapped my arms around him, hugging him tightly. I heard his grunt at the impact, but still grasped him as tightly as I could. There were several scents mixed in with his own, but deep inside was the familiar scent of family. Of pack. Even though I wasn't really a part of the pack anymore.“I lied." He chuckled breathlessly amidst my tight grip. “I really really missed you."His words made me smile.Once I separated from him, I looked up at him. To my dismay, from up close, the exhaustion could be better seen from the slight shadows underneath his eyes, and the stubble that I knew wasn't natural for him to keep. Even though his smile was genuinely happy, there was still exhaustion written over it.And that worrie

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   Connor’s mate.

Isabella. He didn't say anything, but then again, silence was another answer of its own.Had I not been conscious of my surroundings, I would have screamed right then and there from the excitement that filled me. It was just like yesterday when Connor had told me about his inability to find his mate. Connor, who was a year older than me, had passed 18 and hadn't found his mate then. The more I had thought about it then, the more I sympathized with him, and the more I likened him to Leo in a way. Although there were different situations, being unable to find his mate had certainly taken a toll on him. I could tell it easily from the way he rarely spoke of it even while we occasionally communicated. And now, after six more years, he had finally found his mate.Words couldn't express how happy I was for him. I wanted to embrace him and hold him tightly in joy. Because finally, my best friend and brother could finally achieve happiness.“Hey, hey, hey. Hold on." I turned at the sound of

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   Anger?

Isabella. The despondent look on his face made me want to comfort him, but I knew it wasn't needed. He looked… heartbroken was the best word for his expression.“I don't know how to feel about everything, from her being a Rogue to her leaving after that night. And since there's no other trace of her, I can't find her. All I'm left with is her name. Katrina.” He sighed. I never saw him look so alone until that moment. His despondence reminded me of the truth I was keeping away from him. Perhaps if I revealed that, he wouldn't feel so alone. So after a moment of silence, I called his attention “There's something else I haven't told you. I promise, I'm not trying to confront you about anything." I said.He looked at me questioningly.“The 'new mate' I have or whatever you want to call it. He's a rogue."Connor gasped. I wanted to add the fact that he was Treasure's father, but instantly retracted. Considering the tumultuous rollercoaster of emotions that we had both gone through in the

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   The past calling.

Leo.Every single ounce of exhaustion that drifted through me seemingly faded away the moment I saw the man behind Isabella.I was surprised at the sight I saw before me, but I pieced it together easily.Though changed, I remembered the man who had taken Isabella away all those years ago. And I was sure that this was him.I remembered during one of our conversations where she brought up his name months ago - it was inevitable to talk about while she shared tales of her pack. Connor. Her best friend and practically brother. It eased my worries back then, leading to me exposing to her my previous jealousy and possessiveness, even to the point where I believed that he was the fool which had rejected her and had come to take her back. She was incredulous to my words before laughing at the end.“Connor is nothing more than a brother to me. Although I can't deny that once I found him handsome and even attractive, that was a long time ago.” She shook her head, marveling in nostalgia whilst a

Leo.As we separated, there lay something else in her eyes, making me raise my eyebrow in question. She looked down in a demure fashion, the gesture leaving me in awe at the slight shyness before she spoke.“I told him about you. About… us.” She said.Surprise coursed through me at her confession. I faced her to find a tentative expression on her face. She seemed anxious to tell me the news, but just as equally excited.“And what did he say?” I asked. I could easily imagine every single thing. Probably a sneer of hatred or disgust for being a Rogue. It wasn't something I was unfamiliar with, especially with the red moon pack. Then again, I also knew Isabella, and considering the way she remained friendly with him, he didn't seem to have said anything she hadn't expected. She shrugged. “He was okay about it.”Now that was truly a shock. I watched as she shook her head, looking flustered.“Well… not okay okay, but it's just that he isn't angry. He's willing to give you a chance, so long

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   Trying to get along.

Leo.Her face turned pensive for a moment. “Hey, Leo.” She called.I focused on her as she drew closer. “Do you, by any chance, know if anyone new has come into your pack?"I furrowed my brows at her question. Why was she suddenly asking about any rogues? The instant change in conversation was already bewildering enough.I shook my head sincerely after some thinking, looking at her in a mix of confusion. To my surprise, she deflated a bit.“Why? What's wrong?” I asked. What had happened for her to ask?She looked toward the guest room for a moment before eyeing me again, giving me barely a crumb of whatever she meant. A matter relating to a rogue and her friend? She patted me before giving me the same look she gave before. I expected her next words.“I'll tell you later." She said.I sighed in resignation, my thoughts reducing as she leaned slightly to me, squeezing my hand before pulling it toward her. I felt her soft warm lips touch the back of my arm startlingly, gasping a little

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   A talk between the men.

Leo.Shortly after his question, silence grew.I felt the tension thick in the air. And I felt the stiffening of the man beside me.I now completely understood the uneasy feeling Isabella had before. I made eye contact with her, finding the same uneasy look sprouting in her face again.Indeed, something was wrong.“Uh… they're alright,” Connor finally spoke. His voice held a false cheer to it that I could easily tell.“They said I should tell you that they miss you so much, but they can't come over just yet.” Treasure nodded, but I noticed the little frown on his face. Though I couldn't fully imagine how he felt, his sadness was apparent.I reached out to ruffle his silky dark hair, smiling at him.“Enough with the questions. Finish eating,” I told him gently. Treasure didn't make a fuss, simply nodding with a wide smile spread on his face. Just like Isabella's.I smiled in return, turning away to meet her approving eyes for a moment. I could, however, not avoid the piercing feeling

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   Epilogue.

Isabella.Treasure played freely amongst other children. The happiness in his eyes made me smile from the window I watched him in.He had taken to them very well, free to reveal his claws at any time, compared to before. After what felt like minutes of watching, I settled back down onto the couch, filled with stacked books I was hoing to remove for the day.I settled into the dark couch where even before I left, it gave comfort. Now I needed that more than ever.It felt like before, yet everything was so different. Now Sierra came occasionally, no longer a resident of the pack yet still belonging to it. She had all the grace of a Luna. It was something I had known for a long time, yet pleased to see nonetheless - nevermind that I still beat her whenever it came to sparring. The biggest difference, however, was me.I had once come here as a guest, hiding myself away from the pack and not wanting to get attached. Now I was here as Leo's mate and the first and new Luna of the rogue pack.

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   Let’s go home.

Leo.I looked at Isabella who bore a stricken look. The disbelief in her was the same one I faced. This was the first time I had physically seen the person right in front of me, and as I looked at him, an open scar on his face with his hair in disarray and his eyes crazed, I knew what my answer would be.Turning to Isabella, I conveyed all I needed to, squeezing her hand lightly. She seemed to understand as she nodded. I let her go, walking toward the man who looked more pathetic as his hopeful eyes looked up at me.“I have no need to fight you, Darius, because there's nothing to fight with you about."I saw his expression morph into a frown and anger light up in his eyes in response, but I wasn't done.“Isabella is not a bargaining chip, nor an object to fight over or own. I doubt that you will understand that as you are now, but it's the truth. Scum like you deserve a terrible fate, and though I'm glad that Isabella is by my side now, I wished she didn't have to face someone like yo

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   The challenge.

Isabella.A chill went through me at the news. Looking at the rest of them filled with shock and plenty of questions, there was nothing we could do but wonder. How did they figure it out already? Was this part of their plan from the start? I saw a mix of emotions, none of them positive on everyone's face. It was only a light squeeze that made me turn to him.Leo's startlingly blue eyes couldn't cool down my tension, but it eased it a bit.And for a moment, knowing everything else, I only let one thought reverberate through my mind.Everything will be alright.…..Throughout the next few days, we had mobilized everybody possible. They had announced to the pack and the council of elders everything that had taken place, never leaving a single detail out. The pack was in an uproar, yet in a discussion of our allies, they felt mixed emotions.I looked around at the people around me. People who had once judged me in favor of the person who was now the biggest threat to the pack. When I sp

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   Darius and Lucy escaped.

Isabella.Together we left for the Alpha's quarters, only to see my parents.Surprise filled me as they also stood up.“What are you two doing here?” My mother demanded, eyeing both of us.“Please," Isabella pleaded.I stayed as she explained every word that she heard in the forest, and I could see every single one of their faces turned grave.“Isabella, are you sure that that was everything you heard?"I wanted to nod, but held back. There was still one thing I was holding back.“When they spoke, Lucy said that he needed her. Not just because of the rogues, but…”I knew that this was sure to hurt, no matter how much I steeled myself to say it was Leo's light squeeze that made me shut my eyes and finally let go.“Because she knew the truth behind his father's death."A shattering sound.“Melissa!”I whipped my head in surprise as I saw that Darius's mother was suddenly laying on the floor unconscious. The implications of my words were clear to everyone.I could only keep still, watch

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   Discovering the truth.

Leo.The moment she had frozen, I already sensed something was wrong. Two people, whom from the look on her face, she recognized were speaking.Closing my eyes, I heightened my senses to hear what they were saying. The first voice was a rough one that undoubtedly belonged to a man whilst the other was a woman.“You said that it'll work, but they haven't made any moves since.” Said the male one.“I mobilized all these rogues and I promised them domination. Do you think that it was easy?”Rogues? The mention of them.“Or better yet, do you think calming them down was? After they'd lost two people to your damned pack, you should be lucky that they haven't turned on you."“Shut the hell up.” The male voice spat out.“You can't get rid of me. Not when I'm the only one who knows the real secret behind your father's death. Not while you need me to appease the rogues while you mess up and no nothing. Not while I look like your dear–” The woman spat out.“–Shut up!” The words were so loud I wa

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   Our home.

Isabella. The next morning was far from normal. The only way it could have been described was cold.Neither of my parents were speaking to me, not even as I prepared breakfast earlier in the morning as an appeasement. They avoided my gaze as much as they could, never speaking a word.It hurt, the silent waves of disappointment that ebbed out of them. I braced through it however.Even little Treasure had noticed it.“Where's daddy?” He whispered to me. I noticed that my parents had stopped eating, either hearing or rightly assuming Treasure words.I attempted to smile at him. “He's not here, but we can visit him if you'd like,” I spoke invitingly. Before Treasure could say a word, I heard my mother's voice for the first time that morning.“Treasure dear, why don't you follow us to the pack gardens? There are plenty of beautiful animals there.”I stiffened at her passive aggressive nature. Yet when I looked at Treasure's imploring eyes which silently asked me for what to do, I gave a sl

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   Welcome to the pack.

Leo.The pain Isabella bore on her face made me want to hold her, yet those doubts and fears I thought I had rid myself of stopped me short, leaving me helpless and hollow. The night was silent and cold. Peaceful. It was a complete contrast to the violence that had occurred in what should have been less than 20 minutes ago.The pain from the hands that choked me still ached every time I swallowed, yet I kept silent.I almost flinched when I felt the brush of a hand, only to relax as there was only one person who could do that. I let her wrap her hand around mine, sighing at the guilty pleasure of her touch. When I turned to look at her again, all the warmth I gained drained away. Her eyes glistened with tears even as she stared stonily at the distance. She was devastated. From her parents' reaction to the way it all came crashing down.I vaguely realized that she was trying to do that. Comfort me. In turn, I held her closer, hoping that she gained a bit of warmth as well. When Connor

Goodnight.” He turned to Leo and oblivious to the tension in the air, told Leo. “Goodnight, daddy.” I heard the slight suck of breath from one of my parents, but I focused solely on my son, nudging him forward.“Go on then," I said, as he yawned before moving up the stairs.I watched him carefully until I was sure that he was out of sight and earshot. The sound of his guest room door shutting made me let out a breath of relief.I shouldn't have let my guard down.It happened instantly. One minute, we were all sitting on the table and in a flash, a person pinned Leo to the wall.“Dad!” I called out, panic filling me as I stood up, speeding across the room.My father was on his full feet, his hands wrapped around Leo's neck. Goddess! He was choking him!Leo remained still. Whether he was still in shock
