Ava’s pov
‘No, no, I see you, stop!’ Another bad dream, I woke up drenched in sweat and the urgent need to gulp a glass of water. This was the third time I had such a terrifying dream. It was the middle of the night, and everywhere was quiet. The only sound being made was the sound of a distant wolf guard. There are always three Delta wolves stationed at the gate of the pack mansion every night. It was for precaution, I guess.Delta wolves are high-ranking and are trusted with the protection of the pack house. They are mostly guards because of their strength and agility, but some of them aid in being commandant or serve a higher purpose. I have never been to the pack mansion before. All that I know about it is simply from the stories I was told. I had no intention of going there, but it wouldn't be bad to see it for myself and to see if the tales were true. I tried to sleep back and what seemed like forever. After turning and tossing on the bed, I finally fell asleep.“Ava, wake up, wake up, there's news” My mother screamed my name. She came into my room to get me out of bed but that was different. I'd never heardher shrieking before.“Coming Mother”, I leaped out of bed and headed downstairs. My head was pondering exactly what could make my mother this excited.“We've been invited to the pack mansion,” My mother packed with excitement, I could see how her demeanor changed. The pack mansion? Was I still dreaming? This was new and I didn't know how to react.“That's great news.” I had to say something. I didn't want to get her mad.“Dear, it’s just a ball,” my father said. I wasn't sure if he was excited about it or if he felt indifferent. He always had a fixed expression either way. My Mother obviously couldn't contain her joy.“It’s not just a ball,” my mother replied to my father.“Whatever you say my dear”, my father said, without looking at her. He continued eating his breakfast. She turned and walked over to where I was standing.“We needed new dresses. We can't wear our old clothes,” My mother told me, holding my hands.I did want to see the pack mansion but I certainly did not want to dress up for a ball and I was curious as to why we were invited in the first place.“Why were we invited to a ball?” I asked.“What do you mean dear?” My mother inquired.“We’ve never been invited before, why now?” This time my question got the attention of my father. My mother tried waving it off.“The Alpha twins noticed the lower-class people. He invited others too.” My mother was trying to avoid the question.“We need the perfect outfits, we need to go to the dressmaker,” my mother said.“Mom, it’s too early” My mother has always been quixotic about going to the pack mansion now that an opportunity has surfaced. She didn't want to waste any time, but I couldn't care less.“I'm sure lots of women will be there already” My mother worried, pacing up and down.“I don't think so”, I tried to reassure her.“Go get ready, we will leave immediately”. I quickly freshened up and followed her lead. There was veracity in what my mother said. After all, the shop was filled with women pushing and yelling for the right dress. No one wanted to wait their turn, so it seemed. After a while, it began to clear and my mom made her way to the dressmaker's table.“Good day Sir, I need two new dresses,” My mom asked firmly yet sounding excited and enthusiastic.“Go to the back and check,” the already exhausted dressmaker said.We walked to the back and there were only a few dresses hanging there. “I told you we should've left early,” My mom said in anger.“I'm sure we will still find some nice dresses,” I said.We started analyzing dresses. I saw a lavender dress, and I couldn't help but take my eyes off it. Looking pristine, it radiated a captivating charm. It was long and had pearls dangling from the top to the waist of the dress, it was elegant. My mother picked a yellow dress that was just perfect. We made our way to the dressmaker's.“How much for these two?” My mother asked while laying the dresses on the counter.“30 shillings for the lavender and 20 for the yellow dress,” the dressmaker said pridefully.50 shillings was way out of our budget. I wanted to tell her it was better we leave these dresses and wear our old ones and, to my surprise, I heard something else.“Okay, wrap it nicely,” My Mom told the dressmaker.I couldn't decide if the excitement this ball was giving my mother was good or pernicious. I couldn't say a word.We made our way out of the shop, and as we were walking back to the house I stumbled and tripped on a rock. I bruised the side of my hand but, to my amazement, the bruise cleared off, leaving no traces behind. It healed even before I could react.“Are you okay?” My mom asked, but I was completely fine even though I had a bruise a few seconds ago.“I’m fine, nothing to worry about”, I smiled and got up. The realization struck me, I still needed to understand my abilities. Whether this is from the moon goddess or not and I can't think of mating with any other person now, I had to reject Lorcan.“Mother, you can take the dresses home, I'll be home soon,” I said while handing over the dresses to her.“Where are you off to?” My mother asked suspiciously.“I will be back soon”, I gave her a peck on the cheek and hurried off. She yelled.“Be safe” As I made my way to Lorcan’s houseI got to his house, and a feeling of nervousness filled me. I knew this feeling well, so I marched to his door and knocked soundly. I decided not to waste any time. I went straight to the point. The door opened, and his handsome face revealed itself. I took a deep breath.“I can't be your mate.”Ava’s povIt was morning already. I could hear the chirping of the birds as they sang their melody. I just wanted to sleep today and can still remember the look on Lorcan’s face.It is still as clear as day. I was relieved I finally got the words out, but that feeling was short-lived as a genuine concern grew in me. I just rejected him. “Lorcan, it's just that-” I began to explain, not knowing what exactly I could say to make him feel better, but he stopped me.“I understand, it's alright,” he said with a reassuring smile, and at that moment a wave of comfort washed over me. He still walked me home even after I had told him I could walk home by myself. “It will be my pleasure,” Lorcan said.We still laughed and shared some merry moments before I went back home. I stood up and opened my windows. The sun was in full shape, and its warming rays always had a way of soothing my thoughts.I’m glad me and Lorcan can still be friends after the rejection. The only challenge is telling my pa
Alpha Kings Pov“There are rumors about it,” One of the Advisers said. The Alpha Kings sat on their thrones listening to the report. “We need accurate information, not speculation,” Rafferty said sternly.“The possibility of war happening is greater than it not happening,” another adviser said, and there were hushed conversations.“Silence” Rafferty commanded. The Night Moon Alpha is a ruthless King. He is known for his fury, and any city he goes to war with is always left destitute. A few months ago, he sent a spy to reconnoiter the city of The Last Growl, but when he was found, Rafferty, out of rage, executed the spy and is now leaving them thinking about the possibility of war.“Is there any solution?” Treyton asked. “Yes, one needs a Luna queen,” one of the advisers said. “This will strengthen our alliance and also widen our chances”. Another chipped inTreyton and Rafferty have both made up their minds not to mate. They both agreed for a reason.“Any other solution?” Treyton
LORCAN’S POVThe utterance of those words left a sting in my heart, I wasn't expecting her to accept me right now. But a rejection was far from my thought. I fixed my composure and twisted inwards and brought out a smile. “I understand, it's alright” It was not alright it was far from alright. I daydreamed about my time with her, Her long hair resting on my bed. Our eyes interlock with so much passion and need. My breath rested on her bare shoulders. I felt our mind link building up and all of a sudden I was faced with a rejection. I couldn't believe it but I had to accept it even though I knew deep down I wasn't going to give up on what I had for Ava. I walked her to her house and I gave her a reassuring smile“You coming for the ball right” I had limited words and I didn't want to sound like a sore loser or make her feel uncomfortable. I cared about her. I know that even though she doesn't accept me now she will come around someday.“Yes, My mom will kill me if I don't come” We
Ava’s PovThis place is so dark but at least it's better than having prying eyes fixated on me, I have never been so uncomfortable in my entire life. I walked in the eerily halls, Everywhere was silent and I could only hear the sound of my recurring yet hesitated footsteps. As I wandered deeper into the halls I didn’t realize how big it was until I had gotten lost. I tried to find my way back but I couldn’t find the path in which I had followed to get to that point. Panic filled me and I was about to scream for help until I saw a dark image appear in front of me. “Why are you sneaking around?” A shiver ran down my spine but I had to calm my nerves. I thought to myself, Perhaps it could be one of the guards. I got closer to the man and realized that he was adorned with gold jewelry and his outfit wasn’t one that a low-rank wolf would wear.He was a tall man with black hair with a low cut hair, He had a scar on his face, Golden eyes, and a strong jawline,It was best to be as respect
TREYTON’s POV“She might not accept brother” Rafferty sat comfortably in the chair while I paced around. “Why wouldn't she accept? We are the Alpha kings for goodness sake” I mean he has a point, No one in their right senses will want to reject the Alpha kings. Especially wolves with lower ranks like the Omega. There was just something about this girl and at that juncture, they arrived. I went over to my throne and I saw down waiting to receive them. They walked in quickly and bowed immediately after they got to a reasonable distance.“It is with great pleasure we honor the invitation of our royal highnesses” The elderly man who might have been her father spoke first, but my concentration and focus wasn't even on the man. It was the beauty that strolled in here with her head lowered. She was quite astonishing, breathtaking, Where has she been hiding all this while? I mean I could stare at her all day and not get tired but then it will look a little weird if I continue to do so.
AVA’S POVI didn't want to meet the gaze of my parents as I already heard their audible gasps. The shocked expressions on the Alpha’s faces were enough proof for me to confirm the atrocity I had just committed. It was unheard of that a woman, an omega especially reject an Alpha, I could see their shocked faces turning into blank expressions. “Why?!” My heart pounded as I heard the thunderous voice of one of the Alpha twins.“Rafferty, calm down,” The other said. He turned to me and tilted his head in confusion. I'm sure what was in everyone’s mind was that why on earth would someone reject the Alpha kings? Especially a poor omega girl, any other person in my position would've jumped at the offer. I needed to know why I felt different from the rest of the wolves. I just can't mate with anyone till I'm certain that there's nothing wrong with me. “We are very sorry, we apologize for her foolishness,” My father said as my parents moved closer to the Alpha king’s thrones and bowed in de
RAFFERTY POVI paced around the room in anger, trying to calm myself down from the embarrassment and ridicule. How can the Alpha kings be slapped with a mate rejection, even from an Omega girl? I scoffed and walked around the room. I heard a knock on the door and my head snapped towards the door. I recognize that knock.“Come in brother” Treyton casually strolled in and sat quietly on my bed. He stared at me as I continuously moved up and down in my room. He let out a soft chuckle.“I told you she might not accept,” Treyton said.“She just has to be insane. Which girl will want to consciously refuse the Alpha kings?” I stated.“There's something about her. She is different” Treyton said as he paused to think. I noticed something different about her. Her aura was different and her werewolf smell was weak but I thought maybe it was because she's an omega. “I noticed something about her as well, I just couldn't place my finger on it” I mentioned. “Exactly, Probably that's why we a
TREYTON’S POVRafferty hurriedly left when I arrived. I wondered why. Perhaps she said something to upset him.“Why did he leave so suddenly?” I questioned, awaiting a response that could fill my curiosity.“I have no idea, Alpha” She replied with her head still lowered to the ground. “You don't have to keep your head lowered all the time,” I said with a small smile pulling up the corner of my lips.“Thank you Alpha, You don't need to grant me the honor of taking my gaze away from the floor,” She said humbly. I thought to myself how'd such a sweet girl purposely reject the Alphas of her pack?“Call me Treyton, now look at me,” I said warmly, trying to create a conducive environment for us both. She slowly took her gaze away from the floor and I saw her eyes, it always called me. She had the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen.I don't think she knows how beautiful she is. She must be thinking about why we chose an omega girl to be our Luna queen. “Why did you reject us?” I heard a
The room sounded to grow warmer as her mates girdled her, their traces gentle and tender. Lorcan's fritters traced patterns on her arm, transferring jitters down her chin. Rafferty's hand rested on her knee, his thumb rubbing soothing circles. Treyton knelt in front of her, his hands on her shanks, resting her with his steady presence. Ava's heart pounded in her casket as she looked at each of them, her cheeks flushing with warmth." I. I am just not sure what to do," she confessed, her voice slightly above a tale. Lorcan leaned in, his breath hot against her observance." Just be with us. Let us take care of you." Their traces were tender, slow. Ava felt her original pressure begin to melt down, replaced by a growing sense of trust and desire. Lorcan's lips set up hers, soft and reassuring. She soughed into the kiss, her body responding to his gentle asseveration. Rafferty's hand moved to her back, guiding her near to him." You’re doing great, Ava," he muttered against her skin, his li

Lorcan’s POV The mourning period was over. The pack had come together in their grief, recognizing those we had lost and chancing solace in participated remembrances. But now, it was time to look to the future. The elders had called for a gathering, one that would determine the fate of our leadership. Rumors had been circulating, whispers of Ava’s fortune, but no bone knew the full extent of what was to come. As I stood among the crowd, watching the elders take their places, a sense of expectation filled the air. The head elder, a wizened man with eyes that sounded to pierce through time, stepped forward. His voice, though old, carried power and authority. “ moment, we gather to fulfill a vaticination, ” he began, his aspect sweeping over the assembled pack members. Ava, our chosen leader, is fated to be clicked to not one, not two, but three mates the birth halves and Lorcan. ” A collaborative howl gurgled through the crowd. Indeed still I had suspected commodity unusual, hea
Raffrerty PovRafferty stood at the crest of the hill, the fading light casting long murk over the devastated battleground. His heart was heavy with the recollections of the battle that had been fought then just days agone The Growl Pack had surfaced victorious over the Night Moon Pack, but the cost of their freedom had been steep. The bodies tortious , and the scent of blood and death dallied in the air. He turned down from the ghastly sight, his mind counted down with grief. As the leader of the Growl Pack, Rafferty knew the responsibility for their losses lay heavy on his shoulders. He'd led them into this battle, and while they had won their freedom, the price had been far too high. His aspect shifted to Ava, whot stood a many paces down, her shoulders drooped and her head bowed in anguish. Her stylish friend, Kairo, had saved her life at the cost of her own, and the pain of that loss was etched deeply into Ava’s face. Ava’s generally bright eyes were dull and red
Ava's POV The battle raged on, the clash of sword and magic filling the air. But in the chaos, a minatory presence lurked, unseen by the soldiers. A poisoned arrow was shot, aimed straight for Ava's heart. Kairo, Ava's pious friend, saw the peril and rushed to save her. But fate was cruel, and the arrow struck Kairo rather, piercing her casket. As she fell to the ground, her life slipping down, Ava's world shattered. Ava's grief and rage burned , unleashing a fury unlike anything seen ahead. With a fierce cry, she charged forward, her magic and brand slicing through the adversary lines, leaving a trail of destruction in her wake. No bone could stand in her way, as she fought with a ferocity that framed on madness. Her eyes blazed with a fierce determination, her heart fueled by the pain of losing her dear friend. The adversary quivered before her, but Ava showed no mercy. She was a force of nature, impregnable and implacable, driven by the anguish of her loss.
Treyton's Pov Ava and Lorcan's return to our pack was nothing short of triumphant, but I could tell by their determined looks that they knew the fight was far from done. Their arrival rekindled the spark of hope that had almost died out in our species due to the brutal dictatorship of Night Moon Pack and Nascence Jeff. Lorcan's reputation, Ava's magic, and my own abilities were an unbeatable combination, but more than brute force and sorcery would be required to save our people and end this suffering. It was nightfall when we reached Alpha Jeff's fort's perimeter. The silence that pervaded the night was a sharp contrast to the wrath that was about to break out. With every stride, our allies from the Moonlight Pack and the Witch Kingdom advanced us closer to the conflict that would determine our destiny. Moving to the frontline lines, Lorcan, Ava, and I scanned the horizon for any indication of activity. The black fort that housed our people was impending ahead. We were to wage
Lorcan's Pov The Turning of The battlefield was a blur of silence and commotion, where life and death were decidedly close. Bodies, both friendly and hostile, were lying facedown on the blood-stained ground, their gasping eyes staring up at a blank sky. I inhaled sharply, each breath tasting of ash and the metallic aftertaste of blood. My brand, a faithful comrade in this bleak conflict, trembled in my hand, echoing the thunderous clash that had just finished. Eventually, the war came to an end. The words were foreign, even unimaginable. Our steadfast resolve had crushed the dark bournes of my father's army, bringing it to a halt. A realm that was about to be destroyed, the Witch Kingdom, was now safe and unhindered. The sadness of the lives lost and the broken gemütlichkeit coexisted with the sensation of palm. I pivoted, focusing my gaze on Ava's. Despite being ill, she had a strong light in her eyes that had not dulled. Her power had run out, but she was safe and her spirit
Ava's PovI, Ava, slowly opened my eyes, my head cloudy and my senses swirling. The world around me was a jumble of shadows and murmurs, and it took a while for reality to congeal into something tangible. I could hear distant, muted voices, as if they were from another universe. "What is going on?" I rumored, my voice barely audible. "Ava, can you hear me?" Lorcan's voice was critical, his remarks cutting through the fuzz. His anxiety was obvious, breaking through the fog in my head. I jounced weakly, hoping to empty my head." Y- yea. "What happened?" "You unleashed a massive quantum of power," Queen Endora said, her voice full of respect."The entire area is shrouded in darkness." I struggled to sit up, my head whirling."What do you mean?" Lucifer's voice, silky and filled with conspiracy, approached me suddenly." Ava, you've tapped into a vast spring of magic. One that could alter the course of our world." I peered about, trying to take everything in. The darkness was p
Lorcan's Pov With Ava's magic reaching an unprecedented level, the whole place was enveloped in a blackness so deep it sounded as though it had a life of its own. The air hummed with raw, untamed energy and the heavens swirled with black shadows. Amid all of this confusion, Lorcan remained steadfast in his position. Lucifer's eyes narrowed as he looked at Lorcan, perhaps understanding him. "Lorcan, you wisecrack, " Lucifer growled in a menacingly low voice. "You slept with her, did not you?" Lorcan grinned without regret. "I did, and I'd do it again in a twinkle." Though rage flared in Lucifer's eyes, he seemed intrigued by Lorcan's unwavering confidence. "You have no idea what you've unleashed, do you?" Lucifer chuckled. Lorcan, though, only laughed.Well, I guess I do. Our senses and our powers. They're all amplified right now. We are linked in ways that we never could have imagined." Lorcan's remarks seemed validated by the way Ava's magic pulsed through the
