Chapter 38

Lorcan POV

I had been lurking around the pack house for what felt like an eternity, always keeping a safe distance and blending in with the shadows. As a skilled warrior and friend, I couldn't shake off the feeling of responsibility for Ava's well-being. The Alpha twins, Treyton and Rafferty, didn't exactly inspire trust, and I needed to be sure she was safe.

My disguises had become quite convincing a maid, a guard, or even a random pack member. I made sure to change my appearance frequently, so no one would suspect a thing. It was a small comfort, but at least I could keep an eye on Ava from afar.

After the confrontation with the supernatural beings and Kael's departure, I couldn't just sit back and do nothing. Ava was going through a tumultuous time, trying to make sense of her new reality, oand I needed to be there for her, even if it meant watching over her in secret.
