Rafferty POV

Since Ava's departure, I, Treyton, had been struggling with mood swings and a sense of emptiness. But as Alphas, Rafferty and I had to put our duties to the pack first, no matter how we felt. And today, that meant attending a meeting with the Council of Elders.

As we entered the grand hall, I could sense the weight of their gaze upon us. The elders were eager to know if we had found our mate, and if not, they would likely pressure us to marry someone of their choosing. It was a tradition as old as our pack itself, and one that I had always dreaded.
