Chapter 129

Rafferty's POV

I sprinted out of the woods, my feet brushed against the elephant grasses as I raced. Every part of me was trying hard to pacify my spirit and convince it that everything was fine. Nothing was wrong.

But I was just being delusional. My feet froze to the ground immediately I could sight our village, my heavy breathing began to subside back to it normal pace. Our village which had always been toursit attraction was now a typical mess, a dumb store for dead bodies.

The smell of blood and fire intermingled and they traveled deep into my nostrils down to my brain making me grow incredibly scared and agitated. The Cries and screams from the helpless villagers was the only thing audible in my ear.

I raised my sword in anger and thrust it deep, not into my heart but that of Jeff's men who had taken advantage of Ava's absence to raide the kingdom. Their wants were clear and evidently shone above all things, which was to taunt and haunt the villagers.
