Ava's POV

The more I needed that evil woman to be quiet, the more she seemed to enjoy taunting me. Her voice was like a knife, cutting through my sanity, and I could feel my anger rising with each passing moment. But I knew I had to keep calm, to pretend to be submissive, if I wanted to survive.

So I bit my tongue, literally, and forced myself to remain silent, even as she continued to mock me. Her words were like poison, dripping with malice and contempt, and I knew she was trying to break me. But I refused to give her the satisfaction.

I kept my eyes cast downward, trying to appear meek and obedient, even as my mind raced with plans for escape. I knew I had to wait for the right moment to strike, to find a weakness in her defenses and make my move.
