Seventy four.
Damien’s POV
I understood now why my father never wanted me involved with Irina. He constantly wanted me to stay away and yet keep her in the pack. He must have known that she wasn’t just any wolf and I didn't mean the news that she was a Blood Alpha, he must have known that she could compel people to act in certain ways. I saw it for myself when all those wolves were unable to move.
I was certain that I loved her, at least I thought I did, When I first met her, she slipped into my head when I was trying to concentrate on other things. Yet I couldn't get her out of my head or ignore the way her honey coloured eyes always focussed on me. Even the way she looked over her shoulder and the way her body trembled under my touch was always on my mind. Could it all be a lie? Could she have made me feel all those things?
Maybe Ivan really was the better man for her at least he could help her control her wolf.

Irina’s POVI was knocked over by his scent. It wasn’t just how he knocked me to the ground but as his wolf pressed against me, holding me down to the ground, I could smell him and every fibre of my being was responding to his touch, whether he was wolf or human, I knew we belonged together.“Damien?” his teeth let go of my wrist as I say his name.“Keep quiet” he links me, an urgency in his voice to keep my own hushed.I lay still and in silence, basking in his touch and I knew he wanted it as much as I did. Damien’s POVIt wasn’t at all what I wanted, and I knew it wouldn’t be what Irina wanted. As I listen to Gunnar, it all makes sense. Irina was the Blood Alpha, the only heir to the throne. Irina’s POVStaring into Gunnar’s eyes was weird. It wasn’t the same as looking into Damien’s or even Ivan’s, it felt like I was breaking him down in some way, invading his own thoughts in a way that he could not resist me. I tell him to bring Blood Pack to Black Crescent, including the people that had stayed behind in the mountains. It would be the last time I would use the mind control. Irina’s POVDamien leads me to the dungeon. The guy who had announced Ivan’s death walked on the other side of Damien. They talk about the possibilities, suggesting who might have killed Ivan if he hadn’t killed himself. We all knew that Ivan had a ridiculous amount of enemies, including those in his own pack. The girl who had been raised as his sibling was his biggest living enemy. Yet, I still couldn’t imagine Rosy doing it, even after what Damien had told me about her.The guy pushes the door open, the smell of blood and faeces hits me hard and Damien apologises, telling me the dungeon was not a priority to clean.
