Alpha Waylen's POV I sighed and tightened my grip on Freya's hair, pulling her even closer. "Very well," I said, my voice dripping with disgust "If you want me to believe your story, then you'll have to prove your loyalty to me."Freya winced in pain, her hands gripping my wrist in an unfruitful attempt to free herself. "Please, Alpha Waylen," she begged, her voice shaking with fear. "I am loyal to you and this pack. I would never betray you, I swear it."I studied her face for a moment, my eyes scanning skeptically. "Actions speak louder than words, Freya," I said, my tone harsh. "And your actions last night suggest otherwise."I released my grip on her hair, but before she could react, I cupped her chin in my hand, forcing her to look at me "You know, my father always said that the greatest threat to a pack comes from within," I murmured, my thumb caressing her cheek. "And I'm starting to see the truth in that."Freya's eyes widened, and she shook her head frantically. "No, Alpha W
Alpha Waylen's POV I sighed and sat down behind the desk, I thought I was going to feel better, but I didn't. I knew Freya was just being loyal to Amelia and doing as she was told, but I had to show her somehow that I was in control. I stood up and walked towards the window, looking outside to see what was going on. In the corners of my mind, I could still hear Freya scream for mercy as Luke dragged her out. Just then, there was a soft tap on the door and I knew exactly who it was. I stood still, not moving from where I was. Amelia always opened the door by herself and she usually knocked twice. The second knock came in and after a while, the door swung open. “Alpha Waylen.” I heard her call my name and my heart skipped a beat. I closed my eyes and steadied myself. “Amelia.” I said softly, turning around to see her. She was like an angel, even more beautiful than yesterday. I tightened my fist, the thought of losing her to Kayden created more anger in me than I could control.
Amelia's POVThe night before, in the woods with Alpha Kayden, my heart was torn between the life I had here and the man I still loved. As I stood there, facing him I thought about how serious the decision I was about to take was. "Kayden, I don't know what to do," I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper. "I care for Waylen, but my heart has always belonged to you."Kayden reached out and gently took my hand, his touch sending shivers down my spine. "Amelia, come back with me. Come home, to the Paxon pack. We can be together, raise our children in a place where they'll be safe and loved."I sighed, my eyes darting around the forest as if the trees could offer me some guidance. "It's not that simple, Kayden. Waylen- he's not going to let me go without a fight."Kayden's grip on my hand tightened, and I could see the determination in his eyes. "Then we'll fight, Amelia. I'm not going to let him keep you from me any longer."I shook my head, feeling the familiar ache in my chest. "W
Amelia's POV "Waylen, please try to understand. I'm not leaving because of you or because of anything else. I'm leaving because Kayden is my true mate, and I can't ignore that. You have to let me go."He shook his head, his hands clenching into fists. "Let you go?" he growled. "You think I'm just going to let you leave? You belong to me, Amelia. You're mine."I took a step back, my heart racing. "I'm not yours, Waylen. I belong to Kayden, and nothing you say or do can change that."He moved forward like a bolt of lightning, grabbing my arm tightly. "You don't get to tell me what to do, Amelia," he hissed. "You're mine now, and you'll do as I say."I winced in pain, trying to pull away from his grip. "Waylen, you're hurting me," I pleaded. "Please, let me go."He tightened his grip, his eyes burning in wayslll that I've never seen before. "Shut up, Amelia. You don't get to tell me what to do. You're not leaving this pack, do you understand?"I shook my head, tears streaming down my f
Alpha Waylen's POVI reluctantly released my grip on Amelia as Luke's words sank in. Kayden and his men had arrived, and they wanted to speak with me. A part of me wanted to refuse, to keep Amelia here by my side but I knew that would only lead to a bloody confrontation. I had to at least hear what Kayden had to say. With a heavy sigh, I stepped away from Amelia and made my way downstairs, my mind racing with possibilities. I pushed open the front door and stepped out into the scorching sun. I saw Kayden standing at the gate. He definitely looked confident for a person snooping around in the night like a thief. His men stood behind him, their numbers counting from the gate into the woods, they seemed to have tripled in size. I felt uncomfortable as I looked at him, but I refused to let it show. I walked towards Kayden, my steps measured and deliberate. When I was close enough, I raised my hand and gave a slow, sarcastic clap."Well, well, well, if it isn't the great Alpha Kayden,"
Amelia's POVI knew I had hurt him, and part of me wished I could go back and make things right. But I had made my choice, and now I had to live with the consequences.Kayden and I walked in silence for a while, trekking through the woods, the only sound was the crunching of leaves beneath our feet. The air was slightly filled with tension and I couldn't help but wonder what was going through his mind. After what felt like an eternity, Kayden finally broke the silence."Amelia," he said, his voice soft and gentle. "Are you okay?"I let out a deep sigh, my shoulders slumping slightly, I had been waiting for him to ask. "I- I don't know, Kayden. I'm happy, the happiest person right now, but I also feel so guilty. Waylen kept Freya hostage, and I had the chance to defend her, but I didn't. What if he hurts her?"Kayden reached out and placed a comforting hand on my shoulder. "Don't worry Amelia, Freya is safe with Waylen for now.” He said confidently. I pulled away from his touch sligh
Amelia's POVThe moon was now out, its light guiding us through the woods. I took a quick glance at Kayden's body and saw marks all over. I sighed and swallowed hard.I couldn't connect the dots as to why we were attacked. It didn't make sense for Alpha Waylen to attack us when he knew, or was deceived to think that he was outnumbered, and still that wasn't his way, he had honor at least, so there was no way it was him. Kayden pulled me closer to himself, holding me tightly more than usual. I could smell the strong scent of his cologne mixed with the smell of sweat. He looked down on me and smiled, kissing me on my forehead. “We're here.” Alpha Kayden said to me smiling, as he fixed his attention on the crowd of buildings in front of us. The Paxon pack had changed so much, and I could tell by just standing at the gate. I hesitated, slowing down as I did. “Are you okay?” He asked me as he noticed how uncomfortable I looked. I smiled at him, trying not to make everything about m
Alpha Kayden's POV“What do we do next?” Amelia asked me quietly as we laid together on the bed. I pushed a stray lock from her face and sighed. “What do you want to do?” I replied. She sighed and pulled away but I held her and dragged her closer to myself. I could smell her, she smelt like heaven. “Don't pull away Amelia.” I pleaded with a smile on my face. “I wouldn't do that.” She whispered softly, trying to hide her happiness. I nodded, pulling Amelia close to me once more. "You're right, we've been apart for far too long. I can't stand the thought of being separated from you any longer." I said, losing myself in her eyes. Amelia blushed, her cheeks flushing with pink. "Kayden, I feel the same way. These past months have been so difficult without you." She reached up, tracing the line of my jaw with her fingertips. I couldn't resist any longer. I leaned in, pressing my lips to hers in a slow, tender kiss. She melted into me, her arms wrapping around my neck. The world fell
