The Blessing Hunt - Part ll

I was crouched behind a thick pine tree, my eyes scanning the forest for any sign of movement. My grip on my bow and arrow tightened, feeling the tension in my muscles and the adrenaline in my veins. Something in me had stirred up and changed after yesterday. I can’t bring myself to remember what had happened after I found him and had run into his arms. But something inside me wants to hold on to him. To the feeling and to the fate and bond that binds him with me.

I had been tracking a deer for half an hour, following its hoofprints and scent. It was a large buck, with a majestic set of antlers. It would make a perfect offering for the Moon Goddess, even though it was not her blessing that I sought. I just wanted to make a sacrifice that would collide with Sigrún’s. I couldn’t care less if that seemed childish or perhaps zealous.
