~ LYRIC ~

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!" Brian announced to the entire pack and loud cheers filled the crowd, people immediately making fireworks and screaming, music filling up the air.

He turned off the mic and turned to me, wrapping an arm around my waist. "Happy New Year, kitty."

"Happy New Year, my love." I smiled and he leaned down to plant a kiss on my lips in front of everyone, not breaking it.

My gaze traveled to Kelly, Jordan, and his Mom behind us, and both of them, except his witch of a mother, were smiling.

Shutting my eyes, I dwelled in the moment and savored the taste of his lips, standing on my tiptoes to enjoy the sparks his kiss flooded me with.

"Get a room, y'all." Jordan joked, causing me to break from the kiss.

A frown formed on Brian's face and he shot a death glare at Jordan who just laughed.

I glanced over at the pack members beneath us who were still dancing to the music, chugging drinks, and throwing fireworks.

Brian sat on his chair on the veranda, watching his

I stopped to stare at myself in the mirror, shaking my head. "I can't believe school starts in two days." I muttered, a heaviness resting on me. "Me neither." Brian said from the bed. If you guessed well, school starting again in two days meant that I had passed the deadline of the debt collectors. My email had been bombarded over and over again by their alarming warnings, but I had deleted all of them and even blocked the email addresses. Shaking my head, I decided I didn't want to think about it. Whatever will happen will happen. I turned around, glancing at the multiple open luggage at Brian's feet. "You still haven't packed yet. You know we're leaving this evening." "And it's still morning." He said, laying on the bed and scrolling away on his phone. What the hell was that supposed to mean? I stormed over to him and tried to reach for his phone, but his hypersensitivity made him stretch his hand out, making the phone far from my reach. "Give me that! You've been on that th

I ran out of the bathroom and headed to Brian, running as fast as my feet could go, and almost bumping into other customers. “Brian!” I exclaimed when I saw him and ran up to him. “Calm down, Kitty. What’s wrong?” He held my shoulders. I had to let out a few pants. “The texts, the threatening ones that I had said were from Emily, they aren't from her!”“What? Who is it, then?”“I don’t know!” I exclaimed, my forehead crumpling up. “How did you find out it's not Emily?” How could his vice still sound so regular and calm?“I met Emily after receiving another text, and she admitted that she wasn’t the one.”“Can we trust her?”“She sounded genuine. She didn’t even know about our situation.” My hands were starting to shake, so he held them. “Okay, please calm down. We’ll figure out whoever it is.” “What if we don’t?” “We will, I promise.” He stroked my hair. “Please calm down, okay?” As much as his voice was awfully and annoyingly calm, it made my shoulders relax. “Let’s pay for th

My eyelids kept Fluttering, the horrible stench of cigarettes filling my nostrils. However, my body hadn't come back to live yet to reject the smell. "The dude that bought her is crazy." I heard a deep voice say. "Yeah. I mean…she's kind of worth it. If he hadn't placed that stupid clause, I'd have has my share of that—" "Be quiet already. He bought her, she's off the market. Shut up. This is business, not your personal strippers club." One of them hissed, automatically silencing the other voices. A mass of the cigarette fas swift into my nostril, forcing me jerk back to life, coughing my lungs out. "She's awake!" One of them said. Lifting my head, I caught the vision of four hefty men, each in black tuxedo with a name tag I couldn't quite read from where I sat, tied down to a chair in the middle of a basement that was coated in green, manure-looking substances. Three of the men rose from the raggedy splash they had been sitting on and started walking up to me in slow steps. I

~ BRIAN ~ 'Hey, this is Lyric. I'm probably busy right now, so yeah…leave a voice-mail.' Lyric's voice-mail message announced for the umpteenth time, and I proceeded to leave a voicemail: "Come on, Lyric. It's been a week. I'm getting worried. Where are you? You haven't answered my calls or texts. I'm getting really worried and I don't know who to reach out to. I don't know your roommate or anyone you know. Are you mad at me? Did I do anything wrong? Please just let me know." I sent that and texted her again. Scrolling through past messages, I realized they hadn't been delivered to her. My heart felt tight, awfully tight, as I held onto it. What if she's in danger? Where could she be? Multiple thoughts flooded my head. I rose up and paced around my office, pondering on what to do, then I remembered I was a head of this department and could look at her records. Running back to my chair, I opened the student portal and searched her name. It immediately pulled up her student profil

~ LYRIC ~ My stomach grumbled loudly as i watched the platter of fries and burger elegantly displayed before me. My gaze lifted to the huge bearded man standing in front of me, a frown on his face as he held the tray.“What the hell is it with you? Will you eat already?” He gruffed. My stomach grumbled even louder and I shook my head. “I won’t be poisoned.”“The dude that bought you wants you more than anything. We’d be in huge debt if you die, so why the hell would we poison you?” His eyes were starting to get red because he had been cajoling me for what seemed like thirty minutes now, yet I hadn’t agreed. I wasn’t buying such nonsense stories.“I’d rather die of hunger than eat whatever nonsense you feed me.” I spat, panting. He groaned and dropped the plate on the floor. “This whore has gone crazy. Darn it!”The door to the room was opened and we both watched as Blade walked into the huge bedroom that was adorned with all accessories a woman’s room would need. Blade had made them

I shut my eyes tightly, another scream erupting from my lungs. Another gunshot sounded and I heard Brian groan as a loud thud crashed in front of me. Ny Jody instantly started trembling. My head shaking in refusal. "No, no, no way!" Slowly, I opened my eyes and watched the heavy figure laying dead before me and another scream escaped my lungs. "YOU BASTARDS!" I flinched at the sound of Brian's voice. Glancing beside me, I saw Brian standing and holding his bleeding right forearm. It took a while till my brain processed what had happened. Brian had been shot on the arm and the person paying dead was the one that had shot him, who had now been shot. "Boss, we apologize." The other bobs were now in the room and they fell to their knees, bowing down. "Have you lost your darn minds?" Brain hollered. "Who brought her here?" These hefty men, who seemed like they were not even scared of death, began trembling incessantly. "W-we're sorry, Alpha. We didn't know … we thought…" He hissed

"I'm so sorry for not reporting the incident immediately." Raina apologized for the umpteenth time, daring at me like I was a sick child. "It's okay." "No, it's not. Now you're all skinny and…" her brows curled upwards. "I'm sorry." "I said it's okay." I walked over and pulled her into a hug. "Don’t worry, I promise to eat a lot to get back in my weight range." I chuckled, pulling away. "I'll feed you." "Sure, you can.' I chuckled again. "Alright, Ii need to go to class. I'll be late if I don't leave right now." I announced, hanging my bag over my shoulder and sprinting out. I walked over to my class and glanced at my wrist watch, I realized I was going to be five minutes late, and honestly, I couldn't care that much to run. I hadn't checked my professor list or whatever, so I had no idea what kind of professor I was going to. However, I still couldn't care less. After a while, I arrived at the hall and unlike last semester, I took my sweet time walking up the stairs, making s

With my arms folded across, I watched a shirtless Brian stroll down the stairs in his pajamas and slippers. He glanced at me but looked away immediately I was sitting on the couch like I had been doing for the last three hours since I arrived here..This wasn’t my first time being here, but his annoying silent treatment made me feel like a guest in my boyfriend’s house. Pulling his phone out, he began to speak to someone on a call. “What’s up, son?”He walked to the kitchen, conversing with the person and ignoring me once again. “What's with him??” I frowned. As much as I wanted to be mad, I was hesitant to talk to him because I know I had made him mad. “She did what?” He said loudly. “Dude, why?” He burst into laughter. "Okay, sorry for laughing…. That's sad." He said sarcastically. I waited again and the next thirty minutes passed: an infuriating, boring thirty minutes. “I can’t deal with this.” Jumping to my feet, I went to the kitchen and he was taking out his ingredients with

The Humidity around me suddenly became unbearable as it was hit and it felt like I couldn't breathe. With my face squeezed up, I opened my eyes, glancing around and realized I was tied up to a chair in a white-walled room. Mom was also tied on the other side of the room, hee neck dropping sideways. "Mom!" I whispered at first just when there was no response, I called out loud, "Mom!" She flinched then her eyes slowly fluttered till they opened. She glanced around in confusion, taking in the view of her surroundings till her gaze met me. “Wh-what’s happening? Where am I ? Why are we here?” She wondered“It’s our old pack, I believe.” WHen I said that, her face turned pale. She began trying to pull her wrist out of the ropes, grunting, but to no avail. “I think they’re awake.” Someone announced, and the door was kicked open. Suddenly, multiple men ran in, some of their faces were familiar, and some were not. Then, the Alpha, Jeremy, walked in, an awkward grin on his face. “Well

~ LYRIC~ Yet again, another raspy cough.my ears were starting to get used to my Mom's cough, and it was uncomfortable. "Come see this," she said, then cleared her throat. "It's a letter from the old pack." "What do you mean?" I walked up to her and glanced at the brown envelope she was holding. It was indeed a letter from our old pack. "What the heck do they want now?" I scoffed. "I don't know. Open it." She passed it. "Why me?" "It specifically says 'To Lyric'." She said, pointing at the label on the envelope. "Oh," I chuckled and ripped it open, revealing the long letter. "It says:"Greetings to the Ashton family, especially to you, Ms. Lyric Ashton. It's our pleasure to write this letter to you and to have you read it. We hope you are doing fine and well. It has been seven years now, and we have been actively searching for you. We have never ceased our search for you. After you left, our pack lost a true gem. We have tried to find answers and our answers revealed that Ro

~ RAINA ~ Lyric, completely unreachable. Dad questioned my whereabouts daily. Tone, forever bothering me. Blade, nowhere to be found. Focusing on Blade, since he confirmed we were mates, he wasn't answering my calls. He had completely disappeared from the campus. I knew only a few students still stayed on campus after school ended, so I wasn't hoping to find him soon. "I can't believe I have to wait the entire summer till I meet Blade again. That turkey. Why would he just run off?" I sighed, not bothering that I was talking to myself, out loud. I stopped and gasped. "What if he transfers?" A girl walking beside me cast an irritated glance at me and walked off. No way! I had to reach Lyric to beg her to make Blade talk to me. Werewolves are actually real? I pondered on that, grinning that I had reached a big discovery. Suddenly, I bumped into a hard figure that was running from the corner. "Ouch," I whined and lifted my gaze to meet Blade. "You!" I squealed. He wanted to res

It had been four days since I had been back home, and Mom's cough was still as painful to hear as it had been the first time I heard it. However, she insisted on not going to the doctor. Also, she was being super nice to me and that scared the heck out of me. What happened to the yelling and cursing at me? Blaming me for every problem in her life? Tone's number was dialed on my phone, yet I couldn't bring myself to call. He cheated on Raina and I was mad at him, but it felt beyond that. I couldn't bring myself to call him anymore because It felt like I had wronged him. I needed to talk to him about Mom but my approach to him lately had been too harsh. He might not want to talk to me anymore."He's the one at fault. Why am I feeling bad for him?" I canceled his number from my dial screen and called Brian instead . "Helllo, baby." He said, requesting to switch to video call which I immediately did. As usual, he looked like the finest piece of cake. His stubble had grown a bit and his

~ LYRIC ~I walked up to meet Brian, giving him a really tight hug. My heart was racing heavily and I couldn’t quite figure out why. “Do you really have to go?” I asked. “Yes. Why do you keep forgetting that I’m the Alpha. Please be strong. This is one of many wars I’d have to go to. Please,” he pulled away and cupped my face, “brace yourself up.”“But Brian,” I held his hands, giving them a tight squeeze. “Can’t you at least wait this one out or postpone it.” “No, I can’t. That’s too dangerous.” He smiled. “You’re overthinking it.”“I promise you I'm not. Why wouldn’t you just listen to me? I don’t have a good feeling about this at all.” “It’ll be fine.” He chuckled. A knock came on the door and Jordan poked his head through the crack of the door. “Alpha, we need to leave now. It’s starting soon.” “Okay, got it.” When Jordan left, he leaned down to kiss me. "I love you." "I love you too." My voice cracked. I stared into his soul, hoping he could read my eyes and tell that somet

~ LYRIC ~ School was finally over. This meant I could finally meet Pat’s granny. Hanging my backpack over my shoulder, I checked out of the hotel. Yes, a hotel. I had lodged in a hotel to avoid Raina at all costs. Today, we had to check out of our dorms, so I had made Brian hire people to help me pack. Raina had called me a billion times and every time made my heart skip a beat, so I completely ignored it. “Hello? Are you still there?” Brian snapped me out of my train of thoughts. “Y-yes, sorry about that.” I apologized, shifting in my cab. “Where are you now?” He asked. “What do you mean?” “You asked me to hire people to pack for you and you’re not here yet. Do you need me to pick you up?” “No!” I quickly responded, and pursed my lips in regret. I just had to make things suspicious.“Are you…okay?” He asked. “Yes, absolutely. I am.” I let out a harsh breath. “I’m at a girls’ hangout. We’re hanging out to celebrate the end of the semester. I’ll be with you right after.”“Oka

“No, Raina. You’re mistaken.””I am not!” she sat upright and gasped again. “The first time I had challenged you… you weren’t acting along.” Another gasp. “Tone is also a werewolf. I dated a werewolf!” She screamed. “WEREWOLVES ARE ACTUALLY REAL!”I slapped my hand to her mouth. “Be quiet. You’re being too loud.”She smacked my hand off. “So I’m right?”“No! You’re not. Nobody is a werewolf. I think the breakup has gotten to you too hard. You're rambling nonsense.”She frowned. “Don’t you dare call me insane. I know what I’m saying and you know it’s true. Don’t try to make me sound foolish. Why are you hiding it from me?”“Stop it, Raina!” I raised my voice. “Raising your voice wouldn’t change the truth.”“There’s no truth. I have no idea what you’re talking about. You’re misunderstanding everything. Maybe Blade meant something else.”“You’re lying, and I know that. You’re all werewolves!” She dug her hand into her hair. “What am I supposed to do? I have to tell someone. This is big.

Brian’s Mom, Myla, sat on the couch, one leg confidently crossed over the other. “What sort of question is that?” she made a hand gesture to Celine, and Celine rushed to pour her a cup of tea from the kettle I only noticed sitting on the table. “You know why I’m here. I need you to get off Brian. You took my money, so you might as well leave.”My eyes widened. “That’s right. How could I have forgotten the three million dollars?” My mouth went agape. “Mom would be so glad to know this. “You’re so shameless.” She scoffed. “You’re a good for nothing wench that’s just here to ruin my son’s life. You helped him get the Alpha position, okay? Now what? You expect him to marry you for that? He only did you a favor. You’re a useless, weak, stupid wolf with nothing to show forth. No worth.” My hands were tightening into fists beside me. I swallowed my words, muttering to myself that she was still Brian’s mother. However, she went on. “You’re a worthless crap, a waste to his life. You don’t des

  • Mated To my Professor   Chapter 87

~ LYRIC ~Finals week, finally! As much as I hated to admit it, I was excited for finals week. The exams were annoying, but it meant that once they were over, I had the chance to head back home. Lowkey, I missed my mother. I hadn’t seen her in almost a year! My phone chimed. Opening it, it was a text from Anna: ‘Hey, girlfriend. The semester got busy and I didn't have time to bother you, but here’s your reminder that Brian is still mine and you better get off his back or you won’t be able to see the next semester (smiley emoji)’. “This girl is crazy.” I scoffed. Speaking of Brian, I hadn’t seen him in person in a while. I hoped he was okay. I dialed his number, but it went straight to voicemail. I dialed it again, yet no response. “Is he okay?” I could feel my heart starting to throb harder as I dialed his number again. ‘Hey, kitty. I’m in class.’ When I received the text, only then, did the heaviness in my chest disappear. I was always worrying about him, especially since I heard
