Tasha's POV

Midnight approached, and my nerves simmered like a boiling cauldron. Tracy, my loyal companion, tried to calm me down, but I couldn't shake off the anxiety.

"Relax, Tasha. Alex will come," Tracy said, her soothing voice a gentle breeze on a summer day.

But I knew better. Tonight was different. I had texted him this morning, and though the message showed "delivered," there was no response.

Pacing back and forth in my chambers, my mind raced. Why hadn't he replied? Was he busy? Or was something wrong?

Tracy's words echoed in my mind: "He'll come, Tasha. He always does." But the doubt lingered.

I stopped pacing, my gaze fixed on the door. Helios, my love, my heart, but Alex...he held a piece of me too.

Memories flooded my mind - Alex's strong arms, his piercing gaze, and his tender touch. My heart skipped a beat.

"Tasha, sit down. You're wearing yourself out," Tracy urged.

But I couldn't sit. Not now. Not when my future hung in the balance.

What if Alex had moved on? What if

The thought of not being able to support my Alpha in person weighed heavily on me.Amber's eyes sparkled with empathy. "That must be tough for you." I nodded, feeling helpless. All I could offer was support from afar. My phone buzzed, ignored, as Tasha's messages flooded my inbox. I hadn't replied, unsure how to respond. Amber noticed my distraction. "Everything okay?" she asked.I hesitated before handing her my phone. "Tasha," I said, the name sufficing as explanation. Amber's expression turned understanding. "You need space." I was having a blast myself, laughing and joking with Beta Alex as we danced around the fire.Beta Alex was being his usual self, cracking jokes and making everyone laugh. "Congratulations, Alpha Rohan," she said, her voice filled with warmth. "Your wife has delivered a bouncy baby boy."I felt like I had been punched in the gut, but in a good way. Rohan's POVI woke up with a start, hoping against hope that I would hear the nurse's voice, telling me that Diana had given birth. But instead, I was met with the sight of Alex and Amber, fast asleep in their chairs. I felt a surge of frustration and disappointment. What the hell was this? What was the meaning of this nonsense?I threw off the blanket that had been draped over me, and stood up, my eyes scanning the room for any sign of the nurse or the doctor. But there was no one. Just Alex and Amber, sleeping peacefully, oblivious to my growing anxiety.I felt like I was going crazy. I just wanted to see Diana, to know that she was okay. But it seemed like no one was telling me anything. It was as if I had to choose between the child and Diana. I had never been a father before, not really. I had to be strong, had to be there for Diana and our baby. All I could hope for was that Diana would be able to carry the pregnancy to term, that she would be able to fight off whatever complications were arising. And all I could hope for was that the two of them would survive it, would come out alive and healthy on the other side.I took a deep breath, trying to shake off the fatigue that was threatening to overwhelm me.
