Tasha's POV

Alex returned with a bottle of water, his expression unreadable. "Continue," he said, his voice neutral.

"I just feel like Helios and I have been apart for too long," I explained. "It's killing me. But now he needs me to come... He needs me."

Alex's gaze met mine, his eyes glinting in the dim light. But his expression was unrevealing, a mask that concealed his thoughts.

I reached out, attempting to reconnect, but Alex's cold look stopped me.

"Don't," he said, his voice low and even.

My hand hovered, unsure.

"What happened?" I asked, confusion etting in. "What did I do?"

Alex turned away, his jaw clenched.

The silence was oppressive, heavy with unspoken emotions.

"Alex, talk to me," I pleaded.

But he remained silent, his shoulders tense.

The distance between us grew, a chasm that seemed insurmountable.

Had I unknowingly hurt him?

Was it Helios?

Or something more?

I tried again, my voice soft and gentle, hoping to break through the icy barrier that had formed around Alex. "A

Helios's POV The next morning, I woke up feeling a mix of emotions. Today was the day I'd face Helios, and I wasn't sure what to expect. I pushed aside my doubts and began my morning routine. A warm bath relaxed my tense muscles, and I took my time getting dressed, choosing a simple yet elegant outfit. As I finished up, I grabbed my phone and texted Tracy. "Hey, I won't be around today. Heading to Helios' place. Will fill you in later." I hesitated for a moment before sending it, wondering if I should've told Alex instead.Shrugging off the thought, I slipped my phone into my pocket and headed out.The drive to Helios' estate was uneventful, my mind consumed by thoughts of what lay ahead. When I arrived, the gates swung open, and I pulled up to the grand entrance.Stepping out of the car, I took a deep breath. Helios' maids, Kaida and Lyra, greeted me with warm smiles."Welcome, Tasha," Kaida said. "Helios is expecting you."Lyra took my hand, leading me inside. "Let's get you settl

Helios's POVI sat beside Tasha, my eyes drawn to her radiant smile. As she laughed and chatted, I found myself lost in the warmth of her presence. Ever since Valerie left, my heart hadn't been whole. The ache had lingered, a constant reminder of what I'd lost.Diavolo and Rohan - their names alone fueled my anger. I hated them for taking Valerie away, for shattering my dreams. But amidst that hatred, I'd consoled myself with the thought that at least Rohan hadn't gotten her either. It was a hollow victory, but it was something. Now, as I gazed at Tasha, memories flooded my mind. Old times, when Valerie's absence had broken my heart. I'd thought I'd never recover, never love again. But Tasha... she was different. Her sparkle, her laughter, it awakened something within me.As she spoke, her words painted vivid pictures in my mind. I listened intently, captivated by her passion. For a moment, the past faded away, replaced by the present. Tasha's presence soothed my scars, reminding me t

Helios's POVI sat beside Tasha, my mind still reeling from the mix of emotions I'd been trying to deny. I couldn't shake off the feeling that she felt something too, but neither of us was willing to admit it. It was like we were stuck in a delicate dance, each waiting for the other to make the first move.As I glanced at her, I thought of Alex. Who was he, really? A friend, a foe, or something more? I pushed the thought aside, focusing instead on the present moment with Tasha.Tasha had many friends, and I knew I shouldn't read too much into our friendship. Yet, I couldn't help but feel drawn to her. My only issue now was getting rid of this unwanted feeling, this nagging sense of attachment. My past mistakes weighed heavily on me. Valerie had taken everything, including our children. The pain still lingered, a constant reminder of what I'd lost. But with Tasha, I felt a glimmer of hope, a chance to redeem myself.Still, I couldn't bring myself to open up to her, not yet. The fear of

Rohan's POVI trudged across the room, exhaustion weighing me down. Pregnancy was draining, and Rohan's constant absence for pack duties wasn't helping. I missed him terribly, but my mind was preoccupied with the tiny life growing inside me.Boredom got the better of me, and I decided to jot down my never-ending list of needs. I ambled towards the drawer near Rohan's table, searching for a pen. As I opened the drawer, a familiar face stared back at me.Valerie.My heart skipped a beat. Why did Rohan still have her picture? We were mated, bound by the moon's sacred ritual. Valerie was mated too, or so I thought. The memory of Rohan's past love still lingered, like an open wound. What's going on, Rohan? I wondered. Have you not moved on? Do you still harbor feelings for her?A pang of jealousy struck, followed by insecurity. Was our bond not strong enough? Did Rohan still long for the past?I gazed at the picture, my mind racing. I recalled the whispers among the pack members, the rumor

Diana's POVI stood before the mirror, adjusting my crown. Pregnancy hadn't spared my energy, but I couldn't let that show. As queen, I had duties to fulfill."Valerie would do it," I whispered to myself. "She'd never let pregnancy slow her down."I took a deep breath, squaring my shoulders. I had to be strong, like Valerie. My lady-in-waiting, Sophia, curtsied. "Your Majesty, the council awaits."I nodded, smoothing my gown. "Let's proceed."The council chamber buzzed with activity. I took my seat, surveying the room.Rohan, seated beside me, gave my hand a reassuring squeeze. "You're doing great, Diana."I smiled, trying to hide my exhaustion. The meeting dragged on, discussing trade agreements and border disputes. I listened intently, making notes.Afterward, I attended a charity event, posing for photos and delivering a speech. As the day drew to a close, I felt drained. The door swung open, and Rohan entered, pulling off his shirt as he headed to the shower."Rohan, wait," I called out, my voice shaking. He stopped, turning to face me."What do you mean by 'you're making things worse'?" I demanded, my eyes welling up.Rohan's expression softened slightly, but his tone remained firm."You really want to know?" he asked, his voice low.I nodded, desperation creeping in."Yes, I want to know."Rohan's eyes locked onto mine, his gaze piercing."Alex is acting weird, and you're acting stupid," he said bluntly. My heart skipped a beat. Rohan's POVAs the night wore on, the celebration only grew more lively. The music was pumping, the food was flowing, and the pack members were having the time of their lives. I was having a blast myself, laughing and joking with Beta Alex as we danced around the fire.Beta Alex was being his usual self, cracking jokes and making everyone laugh. I was impressed by his energy and enthusiasm. The guy was like a machine, always going and never stopping. I, on the other hand, was feeling a bit more subdued. I was happy, don't get me wrong, but I was also feeling a bit more reflective. This was a big moment for our pack, and I was proud of what we had accomplished. As we danced, I caught sight of Diana sitting on the sidelines, Alexander sleeping peacefully in her arms. She looked beautiful, her hair shining in the firelight, her eyes sparkling with happiness. I felt a surge of love and pride, knowing that she was my mate, my partner in every sense of the word.Beta Alex caught my eye and

Rohan's POVI sat in the hospital room, waiting for what felt like an eternity, I saw a nurse coming out with a bright smile on her face. My heart skipped a beat as she approached me. "Congratulations, Alpha Rohan," she said, her voice filled with warmth. "Your wife has delivered a bouncy baby boy."I felt like I had been punched in the gut, but in a good way. I jumped up from my seat, a huge grin spreading across my face. I couldn't believe it. Diana had done it. She had given birth to our child. And he was healthy. That's all that mattered.Beta Alex and Amber shared my joy, congratulating me and patting me on the back. I was so happy, I felt like I was walking on air. I didn't care that it was a boy. I didn't care about any of that. All I cared about was that Diana and our child were okay.I turned to the nurse, my mind racing with questions. "How is Diana?" I asked, my voice filled with concern. Rohan's POVI woke up with a start, hoping against hope that I would hear the nurse's voice, telling me that Diana had given birth. But instead, I was met with the sight of Alex and Amber, fast asleep in their chairs. I felt a surge of frustration and disappointment. What the hell was this? What was the meaning of this nonsense?I threw off the blanket that had been draped over me, and stood up, my eyes scanning the room for any sign of the nurse or the doctor. But there was no one. Just Alex and Amber, sleeping peacefully, oblivious to my growing anxiety.I felt like I was going crazy. I just wanted to see Diana, to know that she was okay. But it seemed like no one was telling me anything. It was as if I had to choose between the child and Diana. I had never been a father before, not really. I had been a father to my triplets, but I hadn't been there for them, hadn't played the role of a father. And now, with this new child, I felt like I was being torn in two. I wanted to be there f

But now, as I sat in the hospital room, waiting for the doctors to come and give us an update, I couldn't help but feel like I was running on empty. But I couldn't give in to my exhaustion, not now, not when my unborn child needed me. I had to be strong, had to be there for Diana and our baby. All I could hope for was that Diana would be able to carry the pregnancy to term, that she would be able to fight off whatever complications were arising. And all I could hope for was that the two of them would survive it, would come out alive and healthy on the other side.I took a deep breath, trying to shake off the fatigue that was threatening to overwhelm me.
