Chapter 96 Rekindling Embers

Avyaane pov

The car rolled to a stop in front of the palace, and I felt my heart begin to race. After weeks trapped with Logan and his cruelty, I was finally back. But anxiety churned in my stomach - how much had changed in my absence? Would anyone believe what I'd been through?

I took a deep breath, steeling myself as Logan came around to open my door. His face was a mask of polite concern, so at odds with the sneering cruelty I'd endured.

"Welcome home, my dear," he said loudly, offering his hand to help me out.

I ignored it, climbing out on my own. My legs felt shaky after the long drive, but I refused to show any weakness in front of him.

As we approached the palace entrance, I saw a figure emerge. My breath caught in my throat.

Killian.

He looked thinner, dark circles under his eyes betraying sleepless nights. But when he saw me, his whole face lit up. In that moment, all my fears and doubts melted away. I was home.

I broke into a run, not caring

Chapter 97: Siblings Avyaane povAfter coming back from Logan's compound, the days that followed were filled with a mix of emotions and discoveries. Even though I appreciated Killian's constant support and Chad's empathy, I couldn't shake the heavy burden of what had occurred with Logan. One afternoon, as Killian and I were walking through the palace gardens, we encountered Logan. My body tensed instinctively, and Killian's arm tightened protectively around my waist.Logan's eyes narrowed as he took in our closeness. "Well, isn't this cozy," he sneered. "Tell me, brother, does it feel good to play the hero? To swoop in and 'save' Avyaane from the big bad wolf?"Killian's jaw clenched. "Logan, I'm warning you-""You're warning me?" Logan laughed bitterly. "That's rich. You have no idea what you're dealing with, little brother."I felt Killian start to move forward, but I grabbed his arm. "Don't," I whispered. "He's not worth it."Logan's gaze swung to me, his eyes cold. "Oh Avy," he s

Chapter 98: Hidden TruthsLogan pov The library was always my sanctuary, a place where I could dive into other people's worlds and briefly elude the darkness inside me. While sitting in my favorite armchair today, with a leather-bound book on my lap, I couldn't escape from facing reality. My thoughts continuously returned to Avyaane, to the expression in her eyes from a few days prior.I heard the gentle opening and closing of the door, but I didn't bother to glance up. I recognized the person without needing to glance. The air was filled with a combination of lavender and a scent that was distinctly hers.Avyaane's voice was gentle and hesitant as she called out, "Logan." Is it possible for us to have a conversation?I focused on the book despite the words becoming blurry in front of me. "Avyaane, haven't we covered everything that needs to be discussed?"She came nearer, and I could sense the intensity of her stare upon me. "Absolutely not," she asserted. I believe we don't have.A

Chapter 99: Fractured BondsAvyaaneMy head was spinning as I led Logan out of his room. What was I doing? Could I really help him heal after everything that had happened? And what about Killian? I sent up a silent prayer to the Moon Goddess, asking for guidance. Our faith taught that she watched over all wolves, even the most troubled ones. I hoped she was watching over us now.As we walked down the hallway, I could feel the tension radiating off Logan. His hand trembled slightly in mine. I gave it a reassuring squeeze."It's okay," I said softly. "We'll take this one step at a time."Logan nodded stiffly, his jaw clenched. I could see how hard this was for him - to be vulnerable, to let someone in after so long.We rounded a corner and came face to face with Killian. His eyes widened in shock, then narrowed as he took in our joined hands."What's going on here?" he demanded.I felt Logan tense beside me, ready to retreat back into anger. I stepped forward, placing myself between th

I had a sleepless night shifting and twisting, going through yesterday's argument in the garden repeatedly. The pain reflected in Killian's eyes and the vulnerability in Logan's gaze tormented me equally. On my journey to the pack council chambers, my stomach was filled with anxiety. Today was the day I had feared - the day I needed to address the elders with my plan for uniting the packs. However, in the midst of my personal problems, how could I concentrate on the dynamics within the pack?I stopped in front of the sturdy oak doors, inhaling deeply to calm my nerves. I told myself, "Concentrate, Avyaane." 'The future of the packs hinges on this.'When I pushed the doors open, the quiet conversation suddenly stopped. Everyone looked at me, a combination of curiosity and doubt evident on the elders' faces. I saw Killian up ahead, his face showing no emotion. Logan re

His tale of being held captive and tortured deeply affected me, causing a strong mix of horror, empathy, and an unexpected sense of protectiveness. As time went by, I felt torn between my deepening bond with Logan and my unresolved emotions for Killian. However, I couldn't neglect the presence of two additional individuals in this complex situation. Chad and Blair, the remaining two siblings in the quartet, had been lingering on the outskirts of this conflict for an extended period of time. In order to truly help this family heal, I had to grasp the understanding of each individual in it.Keeping that in consideration, I chose to allocate specific time for each of the quadruplets, aiming to understand their individual challenges and possibly unify them all.I began with Killian, aware that talking to him would pose the biggest challenge. Avyaane pov While we sat observing the sun descending over the valley, I experienced a revived feeling of determination. These four brothers, each unique but connected by blood and common past, required restoration. And in some way, whether good or bad, I had become involved in their narrative. The question was, could I assist them in healing without sacrificing my own well-being in the process? As time went on, I discovered that I was spending increasing amounts of time with Chad. Chapter 103: New BeginningsAyvyaane povWillow Creek, a small town, was not at all like the pack areas I had left behind. Nestled in a valley surrounded by rolling hills, it was a community where everyone knew everything about everyone else, and outsiders were received with equal parts curiosity and distrust. It had been three months since I left the quadruplets and my previous life behind. Three months spent creating a new identity and learning to navigate the human world on my own. And after three months of watching my body transform, the small life inside me becomes stronger by the day. I had found work at the neighborhood bookstore, a little business that smelled of old paper and possibilities. The owner, a kind-hearted woman named Margaret, had taken one look at me: alone, pregnant, and plainly out of my element, and gave me not only a job, but also a home in the small apartment above the business. Chapter 111: Eternal LoveAvyaane pov As I stood on the balcony, looking out over the vast expanse of the pack lands, I couldn't help but feel a deep sense of thankfulness and astonishment. The sun was just starting to set, painting the sky in a stunning array of reds and golds, and the gentle breeze carried the familiar scents of home - the earthy richness of the forest, the sweet fragrance of the blooming wildflowers, the faint hint of pine that had always been a comforting presence in my life. I felt completely at peace in moments like these, when the world appeared to slow down and all of the noise and commotion of daily life faded away. This area, this pack, and this family. It was where I belonged, where I had discovered the unconditional love and acceptance I had sought for so long. A gentle giggle from behind me grabbed my attention, and I turned to see Chad stroll out onto the balcony, a playful grin on his lovely face. "Penny for your thoughts, my love?" He muttered, throwi

The triplets thrived, becoming more beautiful and lively with each passing day, and Chad's commitment to them - and to me - appeared to grow stronger every time. The rest of our family took note of the transformation as well. Logan, Killian, and Blair, who had previously viewed Allison's presence in Chad's life with a mixture of wariness and hatred, Now she welcomed our growing family with open arms, adoring the babies with a zeal that touched my heart. "Look at you, all grown up and starting a family of your own," Killian had taunted one day as he cradled our daughter. "I never thought I'd see the day." Chad had chuckled, his arm wrapped securely around my waist. "Yeah, well, don't get too comfortable," he had said. "You three are next in line, you know." The accompanying laughing and frie

Chapter 109: Closure and New LifeAvyaane pov Finally, the day came. As I held our baby daughter in my arms, the intensity of my love and appreciation threatened to overwhelm me. Her tiny, flawless features—the button nose, the delicate rosebud lips, the thick, dark lashes that fanned across her plump cheeks—filled me with a sensation of astonishment that I had never felt before. When I looked up, Chad's eyes were filled with tears of joy, his gaze riveted on the small infant cradled in my embrace. He reached out and carefully touched the curve of our daughter's cheek, his touch gentle and reverent. "She's... she's perfect, Avy," he said softly, his voice full with emotion. "Absolutely perfect." I felt a flood of pride and love wash over me, so I leaned into his touch, enjoying the warmth and comfort of his presence. I nodded and moved my gaze over to where Chad was standing, watching the reunion with a soft, almost reverent face. Our eyes connected, and I knew I'd made the proper decision. This was where I belonged, with him and his family—my family. As time passed, it became evident that this return was not without difficulties. Allison, Chad's on-and-off-again girlfriend, was not pleased with my homecoming and made no secret of it. "I can't believe you're just letting her waltz back in here, after everything she's done," she snapped one evening, her eyes narrowing with anger as she stared at Chad. Chad, to his credit: stayed calm, his voice steady as he responded. "Avyaane is my dear companion, Allison. She and our child belong here, alongside me. I will not turn my back on them again." Allison's lips tightened into an angry line, but she said nothing more and walked away with a huff. I watched her leav

My heart hammered in my chest as I stood there, grasping the fabric of my dress, torn between the life I had chosen and the one offered to me. Just moments earlier, I had been standing at the altar, ready to devote my life to Ethan, to start a new future with him. # Chapter 106: Last-Minute RescueChad pov The road stretched out before Chad, a ribbon of tarmac cutting across the thick jungle. His hands held the steering wheel so firmly that his knuckles became white, and his gaze was locked on the horizon, as if he could will his destination into view with sheer willpower. Avyaane was getting married. The words rang in his thoughts like a constant drumbeat, matching the pounding of his heart. Married. To somebody else. To a human who will never completely understand her or offer her the life she deserves. His fingers paused over the keyboard, hesitating for a little minute before he began typing: *Hello, Avy. * *How do you feel? Is the small one causing you any problems? Blair pushed send and leaned back in his chair, running his hand through his unkempt hair. It was late (or early, depending on your perspective), but he knew Avyaane would be up. She reported in her last email that the baby had been really active at night. Sure enough, a response came in almost immediately: *Blair! I'm fine, just sleepy. Your niece or nephew appears to believe my ribs is a soccer ball. *How are things doing on your end? Blair's lips curved into a faint smile. Even through the impersonal medium of email, he could hear Avyaane's voice and imagine the sarcastic twist of her lips as she complained about the baby's antics. *Same old, same old," he texted back. *Logan is still on his redemption trip, Killian
