Chapter 54

A Vessel.

Lilian.

My hands shook as I washed the blood off my body.

“Don't make me hurt you, Lily…” Daemon's voice was soft, but the harsh demeanor on his face said something different. His eyes were hard in contrast to his soft voice. “How did you leave the house unnoticed?”

“I…” My voice faltered as I shook my head, still shaking at the sight of the fresh blood that dripped down my hands.

“What. Happened. Lilian?” He gritted his teeth in irritation, his rough hands tightening around my wrist and I winced in pain.

I searched my mind to remember the details, but nothing was coming in. Nothing. Just darkness in my mind. I couldn't even find Laila in the suffocating darkness. What happened? What did I do? Did I hurt someone or was I a spectator to it?

“I'm losing my patience, Lilian!” Daemon's voice deepened and the veins on his neck popped. I could feel his anger radiating in waves as it suffocated me in the small bathtub.

I shivered and curled into myself, away from his ang

I looked up to where Kelly stood conversing with Hailey.“How many items have you been able to get?” Hailey asked curiously as she peered into the thick bag that hung on Kelly's neck. She was skeptical about Kelly.“I've gotten all of them.” Kelly said calmly while looking over her shoulder towards the door that Daemon disappeared into.“So…" Hailey shrugged at her, “What are we going to do? Will you start mixing the ingredients together, or what?”Still with a concerned look on her face, “No. Ayana will handle that.”“How will we contact her?” Hailey probed further, she wrung her hands together in front of her chest and gave Kelly her full attention.“We will…" Kelly replied vaguely which deeply unsettled me, “What happened to Lily?”“Lily?” I scoffed in disdain, and the feeling of jealousy rose from the pit of my stomach. “Are you guys 'pals' now?”Kelly's eyes roa

Chapter 56Trust Ayana.Daemon.My eyes twitched tirelessly as I sat at the bar, sipping a glass of human whiskey.“You haven't said anything since we came here…" Wilder said, eyeing my glass as he slouched deeper into the seat. The bar was almost empty and a few women were looking my way. If it were the period where I hadn't met Lily, I'd have flirted my way to get them in my bed without thinking twice. I glanced away from the half naked women and my eyes met Wilder's.He was the only person my wolf could trust that I could trust… It didn't matter the feud he had with his father, I knew he would never betray me.I sighed for a few seconds, my emotions weighing heavily on me, “What significant difference have you seen in me lately?” I tried to make the conversation light, but my question hung in the air in a tense silence.Wilder shook his head, “What's wrong with you. You're still the same old Daemon!”“What about my interactions with others, like Oliver and Lilian?”“Still the same,

Are you okay?”Was it five hours already? I stared at my skin that had already started reddening because of how hard I scrubbed myself, trying to get the blood off my skin. My skin was clean, but I didn't seem to get enough of it. I still felt stained with the blood of innocent people. When I didn't reply she came even closer to me, “The water is getting more chilly, you need to get out before you fall sick.”“No…" I shook my head, “I'm not done yet. I need to wash one more time.”“You're already clean, Lilian.” She said slowly, “Your skin is already red. You have to…"But I wasn't listening to her, I still felt like there was blood on my skin. I still remembered the tears and groans of agony in my mind. The children and mothers

Oliver, Hailey, and Wilder were sitting on a round table discussing their next movement.Daemon's eyes cut through to mine, and his voice softened. “Let's get going, Lily.”And without another word, he came towards me, gently pulling me up from the floor.*“You've got to be kidding me!” Oliver burst out in surprise. “Really? Chapter 59I Remember.Lilian.“How do you feel?” I heard a deep concerned voice beside me and I turned over in bed.The morning sun spilled its warm light into the bedroom, illuminating the carefully and meticulously designed bedroom that once belonged to Alpha Blackthorn and his mate. I remember every detail about it because I had spent more time here in the pack, cleaning and making sure everything was to the Luna's taste during her pregnancy.“I feel fine…" I murmured in response, my thoughts still hazy, unaware of who had spoken.“I mean your memories.” The voice continued softly. “What do you remember?”“What memories?” I still could not tell what was going on.“Lilian!” The voice got deeper and sharper, sending warm shivers down my spine.Only one person could make me feel that way. Daemon. My eyes flew wide in surprise as it registered in my mind that I was in the same bed with Daemon. I sat up, my back straight, and I came face to face with Daemon who had a weird smirk on his

Chapter 60I Cut Myself, Why Are You Bleeding?Lilian.Days passed after my last encounter with Ayana, and I was just beside myself. Daemon was barely around, but somehow, I almost did not feel his absence. Something about his movements bothered me, and yet all that concerned me was piecing the puzzles of my memories after my parents had been brutally killed by Daemon.I was suddenly interrupted from my thoughts by a ruckus. I peered through the window of the room Daemon and I occupied, and I could tell the reason instantly.“I want to speak to her myself!” The dark-haired man said furiously even as he was halfheartedly stopped by some pack warriors. His eyes went up towards the window and our eyes met, and it only infuriated him further.“Get down here, Lilian! What are you people playing at?”The warriors looked up helplessly at me, unsure whether to let him in or not. I nodded to them to let him in. I was bored, anyway. Nothing significant had happened the last few days, all the pa

Did you get hurt?” There was panic in my eyes as I assessed the wound that was bleeding at a really fast rate.Daemon's face twisted in confusion. “No.”“No?” I asked, also as confused as he was.Something was egging me at the back of my mind to confirm a theory, but my heart began racing. I hoped that whatever this was, it wasn't what I was thinking of. But, the look on Daemon's face scared me.“Let me try something out.” I said slowly and picked up a knife that laid inside the fruit bowl.I winced as the knife went into my skin, drawing bright red blood from it. I waited and observed. And true to my fear, I figured how I was going to end Daemon's life. I was a little relieved, but still concerned.“So…” Daemon drawled out, and my eyes met his. “Your death is going to bring about my death?”I smiled sadly. “It sure seems so.” My eyes cut down to his hand which was bleeding like mine was.“Can we really escap

  • Mated To The Predator    I Don't Know You

Chapter 62I Don't Know You.Lilian.The path was lonely and windy, but I knew my destination was not so far anymore. Thick trees lined the narrow road, and the path was deserted. It felt weird that there was a group of people that lived this far away from the central pack, and what was worse was that it was filled with the old men and women. My legs were slowly growing heavy as I trudged the path, my mind still a mess of the earlier incident. I shook my head, pitying myself. Daemon was hoping to do the impossible, and I couldn't help him because… I just couldn't.I sighed as I reached my destination. Rows of huts were lined as I turned towards the curve of the road. Each hut has smoke rising from it. When was the last time I came here? I was sure I was barely five years old, but I remembered that there was a place like this. I wasn't let out of the house, and the few times I went out with my parents, I made sure to cherish those memories. An old woman sat in front of the first hut, s

Leaning into the half wall, she said. “Don't worry about that. Have you found out what I asked you to?”The man gave her a long stare before he sighed in resignation and pulled out an envelope from the pocket of his finely sewed black suit.“Yes…" He paused, opening the envelope and taking out its contents. “True to your suspicions, the Predator has been making secret moves. Presently, he is away in the Borderland Packs.”Oliver raised her brows at that. “That far? What is he doing there?”Oliver wondered to herself as she tried to understand why Daemon and Wilder had gone off the radar these past few weeks. She barely heard from any of them, and somehow, she felt abandon

Her arm around his neck tightened, and she drew his face even closer, burrowing her nose into the crook of his neck, taking a deep sniff of his natural scent.“Lilian.” Daemon growled as his eyes darkened. What was this woman doing? This wasn't the right time for this! Hell, they were about to get separated from each other anytime from now. When her fingers brushed the back of his head, he felt his body stiffening.Just a few minutes, he thought, then he would place her on her bed and leave. He could feel his demons stirring from the abyss as he locked eyes with hers, his gaze tracing her soft skin, and her small and supple lips that were always too inviting when she opened her mouth to speak. Her plan for this party was to smoke out the patrons using her powers— hearing hushed whispers or distant noises if she tried so hard to concentrate on them.“Are you not joining the party?” She heard a deep voice behind her, startled, she turned to find Daemon staring at her from the corner of the room.“When?” Her brows rose confused, “How did you get in? How did you know I was here?”Daemon just shook his head, his eyes still not leaving her figure. “It's okay to feel like backing out, I told you this party was useless in the first place.”Lilian gave him a mirthless smile and shook her head, tilting her head to the side, she said calmly. “I think you need to, you know, clear your head with this party. You've been stressed and tensed up lately about getting the patrons, I think y

Her back was straight, and her eyes were staring intently at the clipboard in her hand, she was barely looking at the man.“Of course, you need my help!” He inwardly rolled his eyes as said, unable to hide the growing irritation. “Just what do you need? And at what price are you willing to give?”“I need their identities before this evening is over.” She said calmly, and it took a few moments before he could understand what she was talking about.A small frown formed on his face. “You saw them during the exchange,” He said in a serious voice, standing from his crouched position, his face straight. “Why don't you reveal their identity yourself?”She pursed her lips for a few seconds. “I can't. It was sealed in me.”Her mind flashed back to the night during the first exchange, that

Is she okay?” He began to pull himself away from the wall, his voice filled with worry.Oliver felt the hollow pain in her chest as she watched Daemon's concern for Lilian. When was he going to see her the way she saw him? Was he ever going to look her way even for a second? She bit her lips, trying to force away the tears that came with the pain in her heart.“Nothing.” She shook her head, before realizing

Oliver casually glanced at him before going back to her thoughts. She had been expecting him for over an hour, and she had given up on waiting for him.“I'm sorry for the delay.” The man said in a gruff voice and slipped on quietly into the room, closing the door behind him with a soft click. “I had to weave through many guards before I could come up.”“Just stop with the lies.” Oliver looked uninterested. “There are barely any guards or warriors around this time of the night.”The man began peeling off the coat from his body, hanging it on the nearest chair he could find.“Maybe things have suddenly changed, or,” He shrugged, “You're not as observant as you think you are.”“And

  • Mated To The Predator    A Party

Chapter 70.A Party. The pack hall was dimly lit when she entered, the once rowdy hall quietened as soon as she took her first steps. It was as if they could sense her as all heads turned towards her direction.Lilian let out a shaky breath as she made her way into the pack hall, making sure her gaze on people was steady, showing no form of fear or coldness. It was difficult to keep up with the neutral position of her face as some people either stared daggers at her or cowered when her eyes landed on them. This wasn't going to be easy, she thought to herself. She was finally able to make her way to the podium, and she suddenly remembered the last time she stood on the wooden platform. Her fate was being decided by the elders of the pack, and it was then she learned about the death of her parents– her aunt's family, rather– who had died in the hands of Alpha Blackthorn.“Hello, everyone.” Lilian cleared her throat and spoke, softly and calmly, yet clear enough for everyone to hear. All

Alpha Nowel will undoubtedly be on our side even though he hasn't revealed the patron for this pack yet.”“And the other four Alphas?”“I guess they are still contemplating their answers.”They reached the large garage beside the pack house and it was filled with different kinds of expensive cars– mostly acquired by the late Alpha Blackthorn and was now given to Daemon to be used at his disposal. Something had changed in her, and he didn't know when the change started. She was calmer this time, and there was also an edge to her. Lilian had an aloof expression on her face as she spoke to Oliver.“Why should they think we are divided? They wouldn't trust us, or want to join forces with us.”“I'm not speaking of t
