Lorena’s POV

I tried not to cry but it was pointless. Every time I closed my eyes, even to just blink, I always saw her. I saw my child.

I was awake when they pulled her out of me. She was so tiny but because of my stubbornness, I was making her suffer a difficult life. She had done nothing. This was all because of me.

I could feel Hazel’s eyes on me. She was looking at me with sadness in her eyes, waiting for me to tell her what I meant by all this being my fault.

I was filled with shame. How could I say that I had caused the demise of my children?
