JAYDEN'S POV

“Lorraine?” I called the minute I swiped the answer button.

“Chloe told me you were looking for me last night. I'm sorry, I was down at the lake because I just wanted some peace and quiet. I was suddenly feeling depressed and had to get away from the manor,” she told me.

Her innocent voice brought relief to my wolf. She is fine, that is all that matters.

“You could have at least told Chloe where you were. We literally searched the entire town for you and Jordan is very pissed,” I informed her.

When we got home after the search, he exploded and locked himself in his room to cool off. I haven't seen him all morning today.

“I'm really sorry. Trust me, Chloe has already given an earful,” she apologized. I could still sense the timidity in her voice. I could picture the nervous expression on her face, and the fidgeting of her fingers.
