LOGINShe's 18, two years younger than I am but Alpha Taylor hasn't enrolled her in Werewolf High yet and I never understood why, the fact that she wasn't allowed to go to High school like all of her friends in the pack and they also refused to tell her the reason as to why they made such a decision caused a rift between her and her parents so she always preferred to be alone with her makeups in her room and her parents will do anything to make her happy, anything except taking her to a Highschool
Not only did they not enroll her in Werewolf High, but they also didn't allow her to go anywhere outside the Pack's territory and Chloe wasn't exactly happy with that so whenever she retaliated, I was always the one punished because of her, crazy right? They can't punish their dear daughter when she gets them angry so they vent all their anger on me, not fair right? Well I've never been treated fairly my whole life so I have no complaints, I just have to get used to being punished for someone else's misbehaviors I knocked on her door and I got no response What do these people have against responding to door knocks?! I opened the door and peeped in "Chloe" I called but the room was empty and the window was wide open I quickly ran to the opened window as a bad realization reared its ugly face at me, the tied rope dangling down the window confirmed my fears, and Chloe sneaked out of the house again!! Now I'll be the one to bear the brunt for her actions.... My body went colder with each heavy step I took down the stairs. Beads of sweat formed on my temples in anticipation of the punishment that was soon to befall me "Why are you coming down alone? Where is Chloe?" Luna Kathleen queried in a stentorian tone that sent chills down my being Josh was already at the dining table and along with Alpha Taylor, they had their eyes fixed on me waiting for me to speak "Why aren't you saying anything? Cat got your tongue Lorraine?" Alpha Taylor questioned "Umm..... I...... Chloe......She....." "Speak before I rip out your tongue with my claws Lorraine!" Luna Kathleen bellowed making me flinch "Chloe..... Chloe isn't......she isn't in her room" I stuttered, my lips shaking with the pronunciation of each word "Did she sneak out again?" Josh asked still munching his dinner "Chloe isn't in her room?!!" Alpha Taylor sprang up "Yes Alpha, it....it seems she sneaked out again" "I told you didn't I Lorraine? Always keep an eye on Chloe but you never listen now she's sneaked out again!!" Luna Kathleen fumed "I'm sorry Luna" I uttered obscurely "Sorry don't bring my daughter back to me!!" Luna Kathleen bellowed advancing angrily at me but Alpha Taylor held her back "We'll find her dear, I'll send some pack warriors to look for her and we’ll find her" Alpha Taylor assured "You will also go and look for my daughter Lorraine and do not dare return without finding her because if you set your filthy feet into this house and my daughter isn't here yet, I will make you suffer miserably!" Luna Kathleen fumed strongly spelling out each word that made me believe she meant everything she said I stood still, not sure of what to do but Luna Kathleen looked at me with the most angry eyes "You are still here?" "I'm... I'm sorry Luna, I'll get going now" I said and I quickly dashed out of the house "Lorraine" someone called as I stepped out of the Mansion I looked back to see Josh standing by the door and staring at me, a smirk plastered on his face "If only you had made me happy back there in the bathroom, then maybe I'll have been able to put in a favorable word for you and prevent Mum from sending you out in the middle of the night, but you remain so overly stubborn and this will be your punishment, next time make your choice wisely Lorraine because yes, there will be a next time as I haven't had my fill of you yet," Josh said smacking his lips as he stared at me "Have a fun time looking for Chloe" he added and walked back into the Mansion I trudge down the lone pathway of the pack's territory, the moonlight was the only source of light to see and it was as though the weather had decided to go against me tonight too as a heavy wind suddenly began to blow getting me scared, the cold wind of the night gusting across my face made me squint my eyes to see properly Where would I possibly find Chloe in this weather? I got to the end of the pack's territory and I stopped She couldn't have possibly strayed farther from the pack’s territory right? A wolf outside her pack's territory at night and in this weather can be very dangerous as there are many betas and games out there that tend to hurt people who stray too far away from their pack at night. I know this because I've heard stories, stories of our wolves being beaten up and molested by other wolves of the high-ranking packs when they strayed too far at night "Chloe!!!" I called several, my eyes carefully scanning the surrounding Oh please Chloe, don't make me go outside the pack. But I knew there was no point in hoping or praying, Chloe wasn't here so I'd have to go past the pack's territory to look for her, I had no choice I proceeded into a dark stormy night outside the Pacific's territory. Muttering a silent prayer as I ambled into the nightJordan POV “Be strong. Don’t show any weaknesses in front of them, okay, beautiful?” I said, cupping Marabella’s cheek as she looked I hoped I could live up to that.My parents were some of the oldest werewolves, alphas. Letting go of that position had been hard for them, but they had stopped turning years ago, their magic running out.But even though now it was my time, they still doubted I could do a good job. I had proved to myself and the pack that I was a leader, an alpha worthy of the title, but my parents were still doubtful and condescending.“What do you need me to say or do? I don’t want to meet them and make things worse for you,” she replied, leaning into my touch as she gripped my waist. Her touch alone was enough to soothe the panic in my chest. I was good at control, usually keeping a tight hold on myself and my emotions, but my parents were particularly good at disarming me.Marabella knew how to put me back together, holding me together like glue so I couldn’t fall
Marabella POV Brax rolled off me then and did his pants back up. I moved into him and lay my head on his chest, leaving my dress bunched around my thighs.I hooked my leg over his and snuggled in, my eyes closing.“It’ll be okay, Jordan. You’re the alpha. Not them,” I said, and I felt the warm smile that he gave me.“I know, beautiful, and I wish that meant something to them.”“Jayden is on his way back to you. I have to entertain my parents for a bit longer, but I’ll see you at dinner. We’re having my parents as guests with the whole pack in the grand hall,” he said, and nerves ate away at me.“Meeting the parents! Big step, Spitfire, you ready?” Brax teased.I laughed. “As opposed to getting knocked up and mated?”He grinned and kissed the top of my head just as Jayden came into the room. He hauled his shirt off, revealing his huge frame and stacked muscles, a smirk tugging at his lips.“Bite time, Little Human. You need to look and be as strong as possible at dinner tonight. Sho
Marabella POV It worked enough for the tears to stop threatening, and I closed my eyes against him for a moment before he led us back through the city to the mansion.Once we were inside, I felt the other two with me.“Where are they?” I asked, looking around, but Brax kept pulling me toward my room.I frowned and stopped at the bottom of the stairs.“They’re just busy, Spitfire. They’ll be here soon,” he said, and I felt the omission beneath my skin, coiling in my shadows.“Where are you?” I asked through our mind link.“We’ll be with you soon,” Jordan answered.“Pack stuff, Little Human. Stop worrying,” Jayden put in, and I narrowed my eyes at Brax.“You came with me because I would feel them through the mating bond. I know they are tense and hiding something from me. Why?” I demanded, folding my arms across my chest as I stood on the bottom stair, refusing to go up them without an explanation.“Spitfire, now is not the time to get your rebel side out. We’ll explain, but not rig
Marabella POV It had been an entirely inhumane amount of time for my body and soul to go without sating from my alphas.I was eating and drinking as much as I could stomach, but it wasn’t enough for them to be happy I had held up my end of the deal, so I was left restless and wanting all night. It didn’t seem fair, but then again, it was for the best. Apparently.Mom had stayed for four days, stretching out her excuses through letters for Vaughn the pack had delivered to the widows’ village, but today, she had to leave. The anxiety was killing me. My stomach was in such ribbons that not even my potion was appealing.I leaned back from the table as the alphas and my mother ate in silence. My arms crossed over my bump, and I winced at the ache there.Baby had been getting stronger. The more food I ate, the stronger my body got, and the stronger the baby got. It made sense, but it was also painful. It had power in its kicks now, and it was winding me a little. I rubbed the bruise that h
Marabella POV “There are two options. One, you go into labor naturally and birth the hybrid like a human or a wolf. Staying calm will be the only way for that to happen. Otherwise, the second option is that this child could turn and tear you apart.“That is for Cain’s abilities to decipher, I’m afraid. As for me, I can tell you you need to drink more water. Being dehydrated won’t help with the pain.“You also need to keep yourself fed. As much as I am sure these alphas have occupied you most of the time, you need to keep up as much strength as possible.“I’m going to give you some herbs from my garden to help, they’ll keep you hungry so you remember to eat, and then others will help with vitamins and all of that,” he said, standing up as Jordan held his hand out for the notebook.Galen handed it over, then looked at my mom. “Pearl, you look like someone who appreciates the value of our plant life. Would you care to join me in the garden?“I daresay the herbs you pick will be of the m
Marabella POV A man was in the garden, digging and troweling as he hummed. I raised a brow, and Jordan smiled.“He’s a little eccentric. But he is the best doctor we have. He’s obsessed with flowers,” he said, and stepped forward.“Actually, I am obsessed with their healing properties, Jordan, but thank you for the introduction. I assume this is Marabella Valarian, the pregnant winter born?” the man said, standing and brushing the soil from his pants. He was tall and had an impressive look, even considering the graying hair at the sides of his slicked-back black hair. He wore a loose white cotton shirt.Jordan placed me down and nodded as the doctor came forward.“I am,” I said. “And this is my mother, Pearl Valarian. She’s—”“—a stunning specimen. Welcome, Pearl,” he said, grabbing her hand and kissing it, looking over her intensely.Mom stammered a little before blushing, her other hand going to her chest as she smiled. “Uh, thank you, Dr…?”“Call me Galen,” he said in a seductive
