Chapter 27 - Locked

Ava’s POV

The warmth from the fire burning in the little cottage in the house had woken me up from a deep sleep.

At the slightest move of my body, I felt my head bang a bit while I struggled with my vision.

I could see tables like sticks, and soon it was all clear, and Aunt Janet was standing right in front of me with a cup of coffee.

“Are you fully awake now? Can you see me?” Aunt Janet's voice jolted me out of my thoughts while I nodded my head like a five-year-old child.

“Yes, yes I'm fine.” I nodded my head while I watched Aunt Janet hand down the cup of coffee she was holding to me before settling down on the sofa close to me, staring at me as if expecting something more.

Upon taking a sip of the coffee, I started to feel uneasy, since Aunt Janet's eyes never for once left my face.

“Is there something you want to talk to–”

“No,” I interrupted her even before she could finish her statement. How the hell am I supposed to tell her that the one-night stand I had the other night
