Twenty Six

Speechless, I stared at empty space, my back to Rylee and Aurora. For a few seconds, neither Rylee and I said anything. I didn't know why Aurora had made that statement. But, it bothered me. Why would she say that there was another woman inside of me?

Letting out an awkward chuckle, Rylee stroked her daughter's hair.

"You should get some sleep, Rory" she said.

Swallowing hard, I quickened my pace and hurried out of the room, shutting the door behind me. Quietly, I made my way towards Jared's quarter. My mind was clouded by several thoughts. Aurora's words kept ringing in my head. Did she mean that there was a different entity inside of me? Perhaps... the demon? A shiver ran down my spine at the thought of it. My legs suddenly went weak and my throat felt dry. If this was the case, it was probably the reason why I was having gaps in my memories.
