Here's a new update. Hope you like it.
ANDREA We stared at each other, wrapped up in the moment. There was a warm feeling in my heart and I basked in the feeling of my mate's essence entwined with mine. It was a dream come true. This was until Kathryn interrupted my moment with Jared. "Jared!" She exclaimed, catching our attention. She was standing in front of us, her fists clenched. "Kathryn, what are you doing here?" Jared asked, a puzzled expression on his face. "I need to talk to you" she said to him, through gritted teeth. The twins exchanged bewildered glances with each other and Rylee rose to her feet, her lips set in a grim line."Is it urgent? If it's not, you should at least give him time. He's only just claimed his mate" she said. Kathryn glared at her, tightening her fists until they were white knuckled. She looked like she was going to explode as a result of her growing impatience. "We can talk, right here" Jared said and Kathryn sighed, bringing a hand to rub her forehead. "Believe me, you don't
JARED "Aren't you curious to know the reason why I brought you here?" Kathryn asked, a smug look on her face. We were standing in front of her designated room. "You said you have something to say to me. What is it?" I said. I was starting to feel impatient. I knew Andrea was not pleased about the fact that I'd left with Kathryn. I wanted to return to her as quickly as possible. It had taken me a while to claim my mate. Yet, our relationship was already taking off with a rough start. "Let's talk inside the room, Jared. I don't bite" Kathryn said, a sly smile tugging at her lips. "What is this? You're not trying to seduce me, are you?" I said and she scoffed. "What I am about to tell you is something sensitive, Jared" Kathryn said as she opened the door and walked in. I stared at her, conflicted."Aren't you coming?" She asked. Once I entered the room, she shut the door and leaned against the wall. "You might want to brace yourself for what I'm about to tell you" she said. "Get on
ANDREA "Tell me. I can take it," he said, an eager look in his eyes. Deciding to take the bull by the horn, I took a deep breath."I'm an assassin," I blurted out and he blinked. He was puzzled, I could tell. "What?" I sighed. "I know it seems near impossible. But, it's the truth. I have been an assassin for the past six years. It's how I've managed to survive this long" I said. "That's... unexpected" he mumbled."That's why it's a secret" I added."So, what kind of assasin, are you? You don't go about stealing from people and killing them, do you?" He asked.I winced."That's actually what I do. I kill and steal. But, I leave innocent people out of it. I only deal with assholes who make other people to suffer and grieve" I told him. "That's a relief. Wow, an assassin? I never could have guessed. Are you a one-man squad or do you go as a team?" He asked. This was it. It was the moment I was supposed to come clean about my mission. Instead, fear gripped me. The fear of reje
RYLEE The tension between Ava, Keegan and Andrea was obvious. Andrea could no longer maintain eye contact with him. On the other hand, Ava looked upset. "Woah, what's with them?" Emma said. She was standing beside me, watching the trio. "What do you think?" I asked. Emma drew in a sharp breath, her brows furrowed. "It looks like a love triangle" she said and I rolled my eyes. "Don't be silly. If it was a love triangle, Ava wouldn't have been comfortable with Andrea. Come to think of it, this is the first time Keegan is meeting Andrea. But, I have a feeling that they know themselves way back" I said."You think so? How about this? Don't you think we're being nosy?" Emma asked. I sighed. "Whatever. It's none of my business" I said and walked away. Nonetheless, I couldn't shrug off the niggling feeling I had. Andrea's panic stricken face was haunting my mind. The question was, why would she be afraid of Keegan of all people? Did they have a terrible history? On my way t
ANDREA "What's going on?" I asked. I had been summoned to Alpha Vincent's office and when I arrived, I could tell that something was wrong. Everyone looked tensed. My gaze met Jared's worried ones and I lowered myself onto one of the unoccupied seats available. "Andrea, did you go out of the pack house, last night?" Rylee asked. "I didn't." She sighed and folded her arms across her chest."Colton said he saw you last night" I frowned, confused. "That can't be true, Rylee. I really didn't go anywhere last night. He must've made a mistake" "The thing is...one of the scouts said he saw something different. He said he saw Jared and Kathryn leaving the pack house. However, Colton said he was with Jared during his rounds. Jared also confirmed Colton's statement. Kathryn on the other hand, said she never left the pack house last night" I blinked, trying to process what I had just heard. It felt like a very complicated puzzle. I glanced at Kathryn. Her gaze was fixed on the floor
ANDREA "Tell me I've misheard everything. Tell me it's all a lie" Ava croaked, her cheeks glistening with tears. My heart rate had quickened and my knees were losing their strength. I was like a deer caught in headlights. I couldn't think. Scratch that. My mind was flooded with multitude of thoughts. Such that, neither of them made any sense to me. "Andrea, say something!" Ava cried. I parted my lips to say something but the words refused to come out. Her knees gave out first. Few seconds later, mine did. We knelt there in the garden, tears running down our faces. I couldn't look her in the eye. I felt ashamed of myself. "I'm sorry" I croaked. "You're sorry?" Ava snarled, her eyes reflecting the rage she was feeling. "You came here to ruin our pack. You're an assassin. If Jared wasn't your mate, you would have tried to take my brother down. You disgust me! And here I was, thinking that I could be your friend" she spat every word with venom. It was okay though. I knew I deserved
JARED When Vincent told me everything he'd heard from Kathryn, I was shocked speechless. I couldn't wrap my head around all of it. I didn't want to believe that Andrea had such malicious intent towards the pack. The rage set in after much denial. I began to have doubts about how she felt towards me. I felt like I'd merely been her cover. Everyone was still reeling from the new information but Rylee looked worse. She had gone pale, her eyes glassy. "It can't be true. There's no way she would do something like this" she said. Ava sighed. She looked upset. However, she didn't seem surprised.Andrea's rose scent flooded my senses and I stiffened. "Come in" Vincent said. The tension in the air doubled after she stepped in. "What's going on?" She asked, her brows creased. She was nervous. It was written all over her face. She appeared innocent. But, the realization that I had been fooled by her was enough to make me feel worse."Why? How could you, Andrea?" I demanded. Her face
ANDREA I was a damn sinner and I felt like one. Like a deflated balloon, my strong will, hope and confidence had vanished. Nothing could have prepared for the moment when those who had treated me like family discovered my ugly secret. I was convinced that I was a failure. I was the one who had chosen the pack over the shadow assassins but I'd failed to tell them the truth. Everytime Jared visited, all I did was apologise because I felt sorry for the trouble I'd caused. I was used to being the worthless trash who was continually locked up in a dark cell. It reminded me of my days in Black Shadow pack. It brought back nightmares as well. My stomach grumbled for the umpteenth time and I sighed, allowing my swollen eyes to flutter shut. My head was pounding and I was exhausted. I refused to look up at the sound of the door being opened. I could tell that my visitor was Jared. His peppermint scent was a dead giveaway."Ava told me everything. Why didn't you tell us everything? Why have
