I Need You

Hycinth

Eyes wide, I stared at Luca in stunned silence. There was no way he could have just said what I thought I heard come out of his mouth!

How could I be pregnant?

"But I, he..." I stuttered, "I can't be...you have to be w-wrong."

Absinthe eyes swam with concern. Squeezing my fingers gently, Lucky shook his head. "I have never been more certain of anything in my life."

"How do you know?" I whispered, my voice quivering. It wasn't until recently that I even knew the steps for mating. I had even less knowledge of shewolf pregnancies.

"I can scent it on you."

"I smelled the pregnancy?

I inhaled deeply, letting the air saturate my lungs, trying to find the scent.

Nothing. "I don't smell anything."

"Males can scent an in utero pup six days after mating; however, females do not discern the pregnancy until the eighth day. In two more days, you will smell what I do."

"You have to be wrong," I insisted, shaking my head in denial. "This just couldn't happen. Leander pulled out ev

Everard Our first chapter in Ever's POV!Four weeks had gone by since Hycinth had left and as expected, Leander had deteriorated quickly. His righteous anger and fury that Hycinth had chosen her dead parents over her soulmate, knowing their cruelty, had worn off, leaving only abysmal devastation behind. He couldn't think or function past his pain. He didn't want to.I stood to my feet when Sydney and one of her apprentices, Heidi, entered the study. Crossing the room to them, I asked quietly, "What news do you have?"Sydney's eyes cut in Leander's direction and then back at me. "Should we talk about this...here?"I understood her hesitation. I looked over to Leander. He was slouched in an oversized chair, legs apart, head back with his eyes closed. For the moment, his breathing and heart rate was regular, none of the usual hitches and spasms I'd become accustomed to hearing. He was asleep. But even slumbering didn't guarantee a break to his agony. Most nights he woke up roaring, fight

They salivated for it, like the sick wolves they were. And now, Hycinth's actions had not only left Leander emotionally maimed, but she'd put hundreds of lives at risk. Innocent males and females would die...even young pups and newborns, if her vile pack breached our borders. I shuddered hard to control my fear. But I should be afraid. The memory of what they'd done to that innocent baby after they'd cut it from its mother womb still tore me up inside. They'd proven beyond a shadow of a doubt there was no deed too diabolical, no blood too sacred to shed. I swallowed down the bile that crept up my throat. And as far as I was concerned, every drop of blood shed now was on Hycinth's hands. She'd set these events in motion....She was the daughter of the cruelest Alpha to ever breathe. We'd thought her innocent. Hycinth had been so young, only fifteen when her father died. We'd assumed he hadn't had the chance to instill his thirst for war into her. But we'd been wrong. She'd played us al

It HurtsLeanderMy Wolf's thoughts were a jumbled mess...WorthlessUnwantedUnlovableSome vital component had disconnected inside his head the moment Hycinth had left us. His self-hatred radiated through our bond, cutting me to the bone. The marrow of his being was bleeding, and there wasn't a damn thing I could do to staunch the flow. Not that I had enough strength of my own to even try to keep us both together. His agony was mine, and mine was his.Dazed and confused, he ran.No goal in mind, no destination. He just knew he had to run because standing in one place hurt too damn much.Through the forest, careening around trees, paws barely touching the fleshy earth beneath his feet, an ominous silence played in the air around us, a distinct lack of birds calling and squirrels chattering. Even the hum of insects was absent. All creatures, substantial and insignificant, somehow recognized the devastating imbalance of the feral predator flying through their midst and wisely kept them

Push Me and SeeHycinthThe room was dark. Velvety curtains, the color of deep cobalt, hung over blackout blinds and ensured virtually no light penetrated the space.I liked it that way....dark.It was how the world should be because color and light just made me feel the pain of everything I had lost. I couldn't take it. I burrowed deeper beneath the covers, wishing to blend in with the blackness, to fade into an empty void of nothingness where I just stopped feeling. But it didn't work......it never worked.I couldn't shut off my thoughts and emotions. I couldn't stop grieving the past and fearing the future.Luca had been right. Within two days of his stunning revelation that I was pregnant, I was able to scent the tiny pup growing in my belly. My little male or female. The idea was shocking. I was a mother. And within a few months, there would be a little life completely dependent upon me. How was I going to care for a child when I could barely get out of bed?I reached out to my

War Is an Ugly ThingLeanderPain...Everything in my body hurt. From my scalp down to my toes, no area was exempt from the throbbing agony that devoured my attention and stole the breath right out of me. I tried to take shallow panting breaths to regain my air but it felt like someone was sitting on my chest, gleefully stabbing a white-hot poker in my lungs on each inhale. I had to have a broken rib, probably several, if the unbearable ferocity of pain was any indication. The stench of blood consumed the air around me and overwhelmed my sensitive nose. Instinct demanded I recoil from the offensive smell, but even if I could move, there was no avoiding the foul scent because the fresh tang of metallic iron flowed freely from my own skin."Make sure every damn one of our healers is present and ready to treat him by the time we get back!" Ever barked out orders."Got it!" someone grunted.I couldn't see who he spoke to. From the location of Ever's voice, he must have been hovering over

"This will help take the edge off," Keane mumbled. "I'll clean you up as best I can while we ride, but I won't be able to stitch your wounds closed until we get you into a sterile environment."Fuck. I should hope he didn't plan on doing any stitching right now. Not with the way the ATV was lurching over the rough terrain. I'd look like Frankenwolf by the time he was done, I thought, my mind a bit altered with the almost immediate effect of whatever drug he'd pumped into my brain. My head felt woozy and my exhaustion ratcheted up about ten notches.Without warning, something cold was poured over the deep claw wounds in my shoulder, bringing me back to full awareness. Squeezing my eyes shut, body rigid, I cursed, "Fuck!""I know," Keane replied tightly, dabbing at the edges of the lacerations with gauze to remove the dirt and grime. "Just hang in there.""He needs more for the pain," Ever snapped."I can give him another shot of morphine now," the healer replied, "but I don't want him

The Living and The DeadHycinthThe alarm clock next to my bed blared the unpleasant news that it was time to start another day. I cringed and moaned. Eyes screwed shut, I flailed my arm in its general direction, and my hand smacked the front until I found the snooze button. Silence fell. I inhaled slowly. But my reprieve would be short. It had been six weeks since Lucky had threatened to call Leander if it didn't get out of bed. And every day since then, I'd dutifully gotten up and gone to work and tried to pretend I was okay. But every day, instead of feeling better, I just felt worse.Leander invaded my every thought. It didn't matter whether I was awake or asleep. When my eyes were open, images of Leander's tortured and incredulous expression at the moment he realized I knew about his mother waged war for the worst memory in my life against the pain in his violet and cerulean orbs just before he turned his back on me and walked away. And when my eyes were closed, fate was even cru

He exhaled heavily, "I don't want to threaten you with calling Leander again. But that means you're going to have to open up to me whether you like it or not."I stiffened, anxiety running through me. Somehow, I knew it was just a matter of time before he threatened to call Leander again. My brother loved me which meant he would go to any extreme to keep me safe, even if it went against my wishes. I didn't have any choice now but to talk to him. I said quietly, "What do you want to know?"The tension in his shoulders relaxed a little. He was relieved I wasn't fighting him. "Why don't we start with why you were crying this morning?""I-I felt the baby kick," I said barely above a whisper but it was loud enough for his advanced Wolf hearing."Really?" there was excitement in his voice, but then he paused. "But why did that make you cry?"I blinked back tears. Speaking the words made it hurt so much more. I swallowed thickly. "Because h-he's not here to share it with...and my Wolf..." I

Time passed by slowly. The bleeding stopped momentarily but returned soon. Instead of blood spilling from my nose, it began choking out of my throat and I ran to the bathroom everytime I felt it build up. The sink was flooded with my blood, clots of it. I felt it all drain out of me.My skin changed colors, it turned into pale and I couldn't recognize myself anymore. Without blood, I felt colder and began shivering soon."You cannot cancel the dinner," I spoke with Leander and he tried his best to change my mind and to tune my thoughts elsewhere. "You have to go.""I'm not going to go without you. I'll reschedule for another day. And I'm not going to leave you alone." He whispered, pressing his hands against mine. My fingers trembled under his touch and I blew out a sharp, cold breath. "You'll be fine.""I feel like I'm dying." I buried myself in layers of blankets that were in the house. The cold was unbearable. But surprisingly, after all the blood I had lost, I still didn't feel in

Something had changed."I don't care. It's not that fucking late to get it out. What the fuck do you have a degree for? Don't you do this all the time?" A voice roared in my head, Leander's voice. It was full of tension and worry.I peeled my eyes open and stared at the window in front of me. It showed the backyard of the house. From there, I understood I was in Leander's bedroom. Everything came to me in a rush and sweat collected around my forehead before my pulse quickened and I rose up from the bed."It's already too late..-" The man in the white suit, the doctor, stopped speaking when his eyes fell upon me.Leander spun around and saw me, "Hycinth." He called out my name and rushed me in such a hurry I had never seen before. "Are you okay?" He asked, curling his hands around mine."No," I shook my head as I became furthermore aware of what had happened. "She poisoned. Oh," I breathed out. "Leander, she -she poisoned me." My eyes teared and I lost control of myself entirely."It's

I waved at Leander as he got inside the car to go handle a few pack matters. There was a group of rogues seen nearby the border and he went to question them along with a few other wolves under him. I stayed at home during the next day, pondering and having some chai latte whilst Gwen was making dinner. The night had passed by with ease. I slept in his embrace, forgetting all of my worries. When the morning sun shone, I turned over a new leaf and decided to not listen anything from Sydney anymore. Whatever she spat out, it was bullshit and I truly needed to stop listening to her."Don't you feel bored here? I mean, Gwen, you cook all day and light." I said, hands underneath my chin while my shoes were knocking against the table's leg. I had found boredom finding its way to me after leander had left. There was nothing more to fight with him about. We had invited Grayson, the Alpha of the Goldridge Pack and his mate, Claudia over for dinner and Gwen was preparing exactly that. They had c

My body was on fire and it burned through me when Leander pushed me over the bed. I curled my legs around his torso, sealing him, as if I needed to do that. I raced my hands over his back, feeling every inch of him while he deepened the kiss.It wasn't just about sex- it was more than that. It was ensuring that Leander was going to be with me forever and the only way possible was for me to let him in, to let him take me whenever he wanted to, to let him fuck him. I was his mate, he had marked me and l didn't want to loose him.I squirmed underneath him, rubbing my legs and arms all over him as warmth filled me up till the core. The feelings came by itself, it didn't need to be forced. It was always there, buried deep inside. He drew my lower lip into his mouth and bit down hard till I moaned loudly. Chuckling, he pulled away from me and that's when I saw his face. His eyes, brimming with lust and desire not for the first time.I ran my tongue over my lip and rose my arms as he reached

"I was once fucked by Leander, just like he does to you. We all the same. We want power , dont you?" She grinned at my response and the proudness appeared in her eyes for a longer time."I don't , I'm nothing like you." I stared down at her with disgust in my tone. From the corner of my eyes, I looked at the food and said, "Eat it if you want to live. I don't mind burying you at all.""You wouldn't be here if you wanted to bury me, Hycinth." She huffed and sat back, pressing her back against the cold wall. "What are you going to do? Keep me here for the rest of my life? Kill me? You and I both know you can't do any of that. You have to eventually let me go. You still weak.""So you can kill more people? Take more innocent lives?" I asked her in all honesty. What did she want more? She had nearly ruined everything for me and now she was killing people left and right with the poison she had created."And who helped you create the posion? Where is he?", I asked."Don't worry about my

  • Mated To The Cold Hearted Alpha   Desire for power

It had been a tedious task to call Grayson and his mate, Claudia, over to the house. At first, we tried to come up with everything that wouldn't seem odd as we didn't want to attract any negative thoughts from them. We didn't want to let them know that we were ambushing them in any way. After another long hour of deciding, Leander finally placed a call over to Alpha Grayson's Beta who then handed the phone to the Alpha of the pack, the man we needed to bring in and question.Upon hearing his voice, I was more than sure that he was in possession of the poison and that it could be only him Sydney would have made a deal with. The Goldridge Pack was a known, favored pack around the area. It wasn't far from the town but not closeby as well. The drive could gather around for three long hours but by plane it would be merely a few thirty minutes, even less.Leander invited Grayson and Claudia over for brunch and to discuss future pack matters that couldn't be discussed at the charity event ea

  • Mated To The Cold Hearted Alpha   Who has the poison?

Magnus and Allison arrived at the house soon after we had called for them. We had told them the details they needed to know and put them on work. There were at least twenty packs surrounding ours, some couple hours drive away while some a small plane ride away. The packs that were small, covering little towns were ruled out as they were wealthy enough to buy the poison Sydney and whoever had helped her create it.Leander knew Sydney and she wasn't going to give anyone with a cheap price. It was her work and she must've received a great sum of money by selling it.We short-listed five packs and then looked at the timeline of Sydney's visit to these packs. The ones she hadn't visited at all were ruled out as well.At the end, we were only left with three packs. The Goldridge PackThe Iron ClawsThe Silverpaw PackWe had our suspicion on all three but couldn't find enough evidence to blame one.Night fell and the sky became as dark as it could. Heavy clouds formed, promising a rainy nigh

There was a little pause before he asked, "I can?" He spoke slowly as he still seemed to be unsure even after I told him to have it."No, I can't." He shook his head and looked away, changing his thoughts and killing the hunger within himself."Why not?""I can't hurt you.""You're not hurting me," I shook my head. "I want you to have it." I whispered, leaning closer to him and resting my free hand over his shoulder. He had resisted it yet again which meant he had the control but I couldn't leave him without fulfilling the need his eyes that continued to grow as every second passed by.With his gaze on mine, he pulled my hand closer to his mouth and then ran his tongue, tasting my blood at last. Watching him do it was enticing and terrifying at the same time. Suddenly, a heat grew between us. He pressed my palm harder against his lips and continued drinking my blood for a long minute. His eyes were wide open and on me. The hunger disappeared. My lips parted and I almost gasped at the

I stared at the fireplace inside Leander's office and warmed my hands while he scurried through papers behind me. "Did you keep track on her?" I asked him while looking over my shoulders. He seemed confused, "I don't know. I'm not sure but I did have one of my men follow her. Though, I didn't keep track of the updates as I was dealing with problems of my own." He looked behind and met with my gaze while holding a bundle of papers. "The last time I had seen Sydney was at the same time and she had poisoned me then."Problems.I understood what he had meant by that. After Sydney had given him the poison, he began changing and with that came awfully terrible things. He was not the monster that we had encountered in the forest as he had learned to control himself. I didn't know how he did it but I knew it was difficult and it took plenty of his time.I lowered my eyes to the papers in his hold before lifting myself off the ground and walking over to him. "What's this?" I placed a hand ove
