Kairen's POV

I watched the small woman in front of me lift the vial and try to use one hand to uncork it.

Now was my chance to attack while she was distracted.

I leaped forward, tilting slightly to the side so that in case she ended up shooting at me, her aim would have been too off to actually hit anything.

Why did she even bother talking to me about the way her boss had thrown away years worth of effort in that bottle, only to turn around and do the exact same thing? The hypocrisy of humans left a lot to be studied.

Her eyes widened, and she tried to get away from me quickly, so that she could finish opening the vial. But I was a werewolf, she was a human. Slow. Weak. And helpless at the moment.
