Kairen's POV

His confession took me off guard at first, but that soon faded away to excitement. Yes! It wasn't all in my head, he could feel the bond too.

I leaned in closer to him and touched his hand. “I like you very much too, so you don't have to worry about it being odd.”

He smiled softly, then closed the gap between us and gave me the second sweetest kiss of my life. This one was much quicker, but it left a lasting impression. I inhaled deeply after he pulled away, trying to not faint from how hot my whole body was.

He looked down at our hands. “It was never like this. I've never felt this way before.”

“Not even with your ex?” I couldn't help but ask. I was merely curious, and wasn't actually intending to come off as rude or jealous.

He looked me in the eyes, expression serious. “No. Never. Maybe that's why she even cheated on me.” She chuckled lightly. “She was probably tired of having to deal with someone as frigid as me.”

If I could use the two kisses we had shared as a meter
