The man sauntered into my room, plopping down on the armchair, crossing his legs with ease. His dark, slicked-back hair and sharp features, with his eyes piercing with a predator’s gaze, made him seem like a serpent slithering across my bedroom floor.

He wore a tailored suit that hinted at his wealth and power. He seemed comfortable and at ease, but with a hint of controlled violence simmering just beneath the surface. His posture exuded confidence and authority, and I resisted the urge to shudder as the hairs on my arms stood on end. It irritated the hell out of me.
