Chapter 15: Conversations

Lilith's POV;

I woke up to a bright light streaming through the curtain. For a moment, my heart slammed hard against my chest as the bed felt unfamiliar.

My eyes fluttered open, and immediately they met him. He was on the sofa; his eyes were closed, and his lips parted slightly as he snored lightly. Even in his sleep, he looked handsome.

Suddenly, his eyes opened, just in time to see me staring at him. I made no attempt to look away and instead remained expressionless.

"How was your night, my queen?" A small smile was playing on his lips, and I thought that perhaps he had caught me looking at him.

"Fine."

He was saying something, muffled by a yawn , and he stood up, stretched, and walked out of the room.

"See you at breakfast, cupcake."

I released a breath that I didn't know I was holding.

There was a sudden knock on the door, and I trudged slowly to open it. Seeing Cara and a few other maids, I was reminded of what she had said the day before about my maids being changed.
