Chapter 63

I feel anger towards River for working with that bastard Connor. She fucking betrayed me by conspiring to work against my wife. All the pity and guilt I used to feel has gone out the window.

River's eyes glance down at our interlocked fingers and then between Elara and me. I see tears in her eyes, but she blinks and smiles. I glare at her, my rage rippling. It has always been her intention to cause problems between Elara and me. Now, it's all coming back to me, the tears and fainting. It was just a way to get her way.

" Good morning, River," Elara greets politely.

" G- good morning. You're here," her voice is slightly shaking. Elara narrows her gaze on her.

" It's my home. Why wouldn't I be here?" she retorts. I like it when she says my home so confidently.

" I - I didn't mean it like that," River laughs nervously.

" Go inside, I'll find you. River and I need to talk," I tell Elara, still keeping my glare on River. She nods with a smile, trusting me to be with River alone. The ri
