The pack’s at stake

They waited for her to show up, but she never did. They tried calling her number but it wasn't reachable. Luna looked at her husband, blaming him for hurting their daughter.

It was his fault. His idea to marry Zelda off. She had talked to him about going behind her to arrange her marriage but he didn't listen. He was very interested in saving the pack for himself.

"She's not picking my calls." She said, folding her arms around her chest. "And it's your fault, Mason, you caused this." She blamed it on him.

"Why am I the one receiving the blame? I ain't in this alone, okay? You agreed we should give her off to Alpha Kent, remember?"

"No, you forced me to see reasons why I have to believe you."

"Fine, you agreed."

"Yeah, that's because I thought it would help but now I see that you only hurt her. Now she is picking her calls, all thanks to you." She angrily left for her room.

Meanwhile, Zelda had driven to Victor's home to find out why he didn't show up on the supposed night of their wedding. And also to understand why he wasn't picking her calls either.

She got to his home, packed her car in the garage. She steps out of the car, walking to the entrance door. She was about to knock when the door opened, Victor was standing before her. He was looking handsome more than ever, his beauty never ceasing to appeal her.

But she held herself not to be distracted by his beauty, but to face the reality of where she had come to his home. "I wasn't expecting you to show up today." He said, glaring at her.

"I know. I came here because I wanna talk to you." She said,

"I wish we could talk, but right now..." He glared at his wrist watch. "I've got some where I ought to be at the moment."

"Victor, please... just give me some time, even if it's five minutes." She pleaded.

He sighed. "Five minutes."

He lets her in, shutting the door after her. He gestured to her to sit on the three seater couch while he sat inches away from her. She felt the distance, and it was intimidating.

"What do you want to talk to me about?" He asked.

"I wanna know why you didn't show up last night." She began.

He looked away from her gaze. "Your parents said I shouldn't get married to you because some one else was. You didn't tell me you had some one in mind aside me."

"Are you even listening to yourself, Victor? I should be the one asking you why you had stood back without asking me what really happened. My parents framed a story for you and you just believe them without hearing from me."

"How am I supposed to know you have no idea about this?"

"How? That's why you were supposed to ask first before taking laws into your hands. Victor, you know how much I love you, how much I acknowledge our relationship. But you took me for granted, you doubted our love."

"I didn't doubt our love, I never would. Your parents explained to me that you were once betrothed and needed to wed the person. You only agreed to marry me to run away from him. So I thought I should hold my peace and not interfere."

"Betrothed?" She sighed. "I was never betrothed to any man. I don't even know who that dick is until last night. Worst of it all is the fact that I called you but you refused to pick my calls. I wanted to explain it all to you, but you just.... You just decided to ghost me." She said bitterly.

"I'm sorry. I fear to hurt your feelings or stand in the way between your husband and you, so I felt backing off is the best option."

"Well, that doesn't matter any more. I actually came here also to talk about us."

"What about us?".he asked

"I want us to have a secret wedding tomorrow, neither of our parents should know about this." She came up with the idea.

Victor looked at her, transfixed. "How is that even possible? What will they say when they find out?"

"You don't have to worry about them, I ain't planning on going back home. Since they have decided to marry me off to some kinda stranger, then they should probably find a way to do it without me."

"Zelda, as much as I love you, I also care about you. I don't want to be the reason you're not with your family. I want you to be happy. If this will cause enmity between your parents and mine, then we shout forget about getting married."

Zelda was heartbroken at his words, she wasn't expecting him to say that. If he truly loves her, then he wouldn't mind about any of that but to accept her proposal.

"Do you truly love me like you've said?" She asked to his amazement.

"Yes, I do."

"Then shut up and let's get married."

On the other hand, Alpha Mason had sent out troops to search for Zelda since she hadn't returned home yet and was probably nowhere to be found. Luna Zeta was greatly disturbed, she's been crying her eyes out.

Some guards were sent to Victor's home only to find it empty. There was no trace of them there. He knew he wasn't going to gain any thing with Zelda's disappearance since it was more like not giving her out at all.

Luna Zeta didn't stop from putting the blame on him for giving her off in the first place. Now that she has run away, there is no trace of her whereabouts. The guards who had gone to Victor's home, came back to report the news that they weren't in his home.

"You couldn't find her? Not even with her scent?"

"We tried following her scent but when we got to a certain place, it was gone." Said his personal guard.
