chapter 2: Battlefield

It's Leonid, I know, he was coming down but I was thinking, with the arrival of this man, he should have stayed back to listen to whatever his father and the man were going to discuss but his right here, in front of me, his face is far from pleasant, he is mad, I could feel it from his voice and countenance. 

"You should calm down, I know we could save Aida, we will bring her back, all we need do is mobilize the warriors, they will think twice before trying to attack the pack and with you, as the zeta, you will be victorious." 

"Yes, we will go to war, yes war against the Shade Grey Pack but I wouldn't lead the warriors." 

This can't be the truth? There is no one as strong as him, no one in the entire pack that could lead the warriors except the Zeta, he is the pack General, he leads every war and trains new warriors, so this is coming as a shock to me, as I stared in his gloomy face. 

"Come on, I need to alert the other warriors, we are going to war." 

Taking a deep breath, I walked behind him as he made his way into the army camp, all eyes were on the Alpha who was not strong enough, every breath of his, seem like he was going to drop dead, poor thing, he must have gone through hell, seeing his pack invaded and his people slaughtered like they were nothing and his precious daughter taking away and he can't do anything, since he is too old to fight. 

Father smiled at me, it's my first time going to war since I joined the army, what does my father care, everything in his head is my younger sister, Kira, she was all he could think of and her mother was the one, he loves not my mother that is, his mate.

All soldiers were now gathered, and then Dad announced that the Alpha's second son would be joining us. Everyone roared, I am sure most of them had no idea that the alpha had another son, I looked at Leonid, I was his best friend, but he never told me about his brother, not even for once making mention of it. The armies all kept quiet, waiting for the alpha other sons to enter. "While we wait for Stefan, the Alpha's second son, what we should know is, that defending our pack, is the most important thing and that is what we must do."

"Our Target should be on the alpha, an army without the alpha is as good as dead, so we will have to kill the alpha during the war, after all, he is the one that has violated our woman and kidnapped our love once and our princess, Aida."

We all listen to the beta who happens to be my dad, as he gives instructions on how the team will lead the war, this is not the shocking news but the words he said after. 

"This will serve as a great means to solve the conundrum of who should be the next alpha, yes, whoever kills the alpha of the Shade grey pack will ascend the throne of Shadow Moon Pack." 

Leonid's face darkens and watching his facial expressions, I know that he is not happy with the turnout of the event. Then again, my heart raced what if Leonid didn't become the alpha, and his brother became the alpha? 

What if he is cold and a demon like Shade Grey pack alpha? What If I don't like him? What if he is ugly? Idiot, what is your business with this look? I told myself as I decided to look to where everyone's gaze was fixed on, the door, yes, the door that led to the entrance. 

My heart hammer as I saw him walk through that door, he was tall, with broad shoulders, with his blonde hair falling on his shoulder, that is all I could get for now but I will admit, I loved the little I could see, yes, I don't care, if he is someone mate, even if he had already have a wife or concubine, my heart just won't let me rest, I watch him stand close to the Alpha and the rest of the things said fall on my deaf ear because I was admiring him and the next words are. 

"Hail Shadow moon!!!"

"Hail Shadow moon!!!"

"Hail Shadow moon!!!"

"It's wartime, and victory should be ours." As all warriors marched steadily into the enemy territory, fully armed being led by Stefan and Leonid, as our horse invaded those bastards' pack, we were going to take them unaware as they did us. 

His sword was now covered with blood, I watched as he fought like a blood-tasting man, come to think of it, he was running fast, his speed was much, and he wasn't using a horse. As he swung his sword, he didn't miss his aim, wherever his foot met, is like he is going to curse earthquake, it was like he is been possessed by something supernatural because that wasn't ordinary, I could feel he was no longer in control of himself, something supernatural had consumed him.

With the way he fights, is like he has a mission, which is to make the alpha of Shade grey, remember the people he disrespects, a long-lasting mark, a story to be told from generation to generation, the sight of him will not be forgotten. 

He was going to cover their ground with blood and the head of their alpha was going to be his victory, not even the throne, he had no business with the throne, last night, Dad did tell I and my sister, the reason he left, he left because his grandmother was banished for a crime she knows nothing of, this wasn't the first time, our pack was attacked, he was just six years old when the pack was attack and his grandmother was the one who saves him and his brother but couldn't say their youngest brother but at the end, she was blamed as the one who planned the coup, so she was punished, and he decided to go with her. 

I thought Leonid was the best warrior and the zeta that every pack could ever imagine but right here, I will admit, Stefan is the best and Leonid comes second. "Gosh! The moon goddess must love this man." 

He is tall, handsome, and masculine. Dad said he hadn't found his mate but he is always seen with a girl, even though he is far from their pack the alpha did keep a complete watch on his son, the young prince, is a day younger than his first prince, prince Leonid, they were from different women, one his mate and a wolf and the another his love and a magician, which happens to be Stefan's mother. 

He was good with his swear, better in his fist and I am sure his wolf nature will be furious. 

I wish I could meet his wolf. Stupid me, how could I meet his wolf when I too, haven't shifted for once in my miserable life, I am sure, I can't stand his wolf.
