Mate 05: Excited

Zaitelle Axis

It's already 6 in the evening and I'm already preparing for Kester's birthday. 

A smile creeps on my lips when I remember who I brought with me to join the celebration for my best friend's 20th birthday.

~hours ago~

I faced Nana with an excited smile crept on my lips as I squealed. 

"Nana! I want you to meet my newly found friend," I informed her as soon as she opened the door for me. 

"Zai, you do know it's still 3 in the morning right?" She sleepily informed but that caused me to let out a chuckle. 

"Nana, sorry for waking you up this early but I just can't sleep! I'm so excited to bring her here! You know what, Nana. She's so beautiful. I bet she's even more pretty than me. She has a pair of red eyes that I loved to see once again. She's also an orphan like me!" I am literally dancing in front of her like a kid getting her favorite toy from her parents. 

"An orphan?" There are so many things that I have said but she's only interested in the word orphan? 

"Na, did you even hear me? But yea, she is. And want to know what I plan to do? Na, I'll ask my parents about her going to the school the same as the school I'm attending after Kester's birthday. Brilliant isn't it?" I look at Nana and she was just staring at me with so much care and gentleness in it. 

She pulled me for a hug and just like that, she swayed like we're still kids with what we're doing. 

"I'm happy that you're happy, Zai. I'm so proud of you. You've got a pure heart and I wish, you'll stay like that until the end," my smile grew wider, and keep the smile on my lips. 

"Promise, Na. And I'll introduce her to you. I'm sorry for waking you up, go get your sleep, Nana," I smile at her and let go of the hug. 

She only shook her head but the smile on her lips never disappeared. 

I didn't sleep after that. I waited for the sun to rise and watched it shined the dark place. I'm glad that I can see how it shines its brightness on the whole world. 

I got up from my bed and fixed myself. 

I roam my eyes around the center of the capital where several shops were already open. I walked my way in the direction of the shop and the beautiful girl that I met the other day. I don't know, I just want to be her friend and I'll bring her to the celebration. She'll soon become one of us. 

"Jazeera?" I softly called her name when I stopped right in front of her shop. 

It was already open but I can't find her. 

"Zaitelle?" I almost jumped in surprise when I heard a voice behind my back

I look to see when her voice registered in my mind. 

"Hi!" I cheerfully greeted her that caused her to smile a bit. 

I look up at her eyes but feel disappointed that I only saw the brown ones. 

"What are you doing here early in the morning?" She asked me. Even her voice is too angelic to hear but I can sense a bit of coldness in it. Though that's not a problem here. 

"Can I invite you to come with me? Please? It's Kester's birthday and I want to invite you because you're a friend. Please?" I know I'm acting weird and being unreasonable. But I just want her to come because I also want her to experience going to a celebration. 

"What?" I blinked my eyes twice when her red eyes suddenly sparks in her eyes but fastly came back to their original brown color. 

"Come with me and that's final. Go, change. I'll wait for you here,"

And that's what happened. 

I smile at my reflection and glance at Jazeera who's sitting on top of my bed. She's wearing a red off-shoulder dress and her long black silky hair is in a high messy bun, letting a little bit of her hair hang on both sides of her face that emphasizes her feature more. She looks like a Goddess. 

"You've been staring at me for hours. Do you know that?" She suddenly speaks which causes me to blink my eyes and look back at my reflection. 

I can feel my cheeks getting hot. Blood rushes and I vet I look like a ripe tomato now. That's embarrassing! 

"Well, you're gorgeous!" I hide my embarrassment by complimenting her. That's true. She's gorgeous and I am proud that she can showcase it to other people because she deserves to be noticed and to have a normal and simple life without any problems. 

"You are too. To be honest, I'm nervous right now. Imagine? I'm new to all of this and I still don't know why do you want me to come with you. I'm not even a relative or close friend in the first place," she's been complaining that to me ever since I frag her with me. 

Well, she can't stop me. I want her to experience things more and I will do my best for her to reach her dreams because I know she's dying to finally do it. 

"Well, you're my friend. And you can't say no to this. Don't worry, I am always at your back. Chill and relax, okay?"

I look myself in the whole body mirror and gaze at my outfit. 

I am wearing a crystal blue tube dress with a slit in the middle that causes my cleavage to come out a little. I am comfortable though I feel shy to wear this for the reason that Aunt Aqua sent this to me. I don't have a choice. 

My hair is circularly braided and it looks like a crown. A little curly hair hangs on both sides of my face. My makeup is just simply not that grand. My dark gray pair of eyes is also shining with happiness. And to pair my grand dress for tonight, I wear 3-inch gray strap high heels. 

I walk towards Jazeera who is admiringly looking at me which causes my cheeks to burn. I can feel how hot is ut now. I am not yet still that used that someone is staring at me with such emotion in their eyes. 

"Let's go?"

As we stride the way into the venue of the celebration party, I didn't know that being there with Jazeera fee ls like someone is repeatedly stabbing my heart. 

That's how painful it is.
