A ROGUE

My heart sank. That can't be. “I’ll have the Alpha behead you if you ever make such words to his daughter.” I thundered!

“Go call the pack healers! Call someone, or let me through if you can’t!” My heart broke even more as I shook my daughter but she wasn’t moving!

No.. I can’t accept this! I wasn’t even allowed to see her open her eyes!

“This is reality, my lady! She’s dead! Your life is more at risk as Luna Alexia had given the Alpha a child and you…” She paused. “The longer you stay here, the more danger you are in. At least while they are celebrating Luna Alexia's safe delivery, this is the only chance you have.”

“You’re no doctor to tell me my child is dead!”

Just then, Fiona collected my baby, placed her on the bed and unwrapped her. It was then and there I realized my baby was actually not alive. She wasn’t moving like normal babies would.

“M.. my baby is..”

“Dead…. It’s really up to you to escape this hell or remain here and watch the Alpha take your twin as his chosen mate and Luna.” She screams on top of her lungs.

I pushed her to the ground and wrapped my baby back, “I heard my princess cry when I pushed her out. Someone did something to my baby!” My body trembled as I dropped to my knees in pain and bitterness.

She got up and kneel before me, “I’m sorry, my lady but once the Alpha is aware that you delivered prematurely, he’d come here immediately. He wanted to send you off and keep your child. This is his chance.”

She added, “I have seen how Luna Alexia treated you this past few months. I know how many times she has tried to get rid of you but somehow, you’ve been alive…. This is your chance, don’t let it go down the drain because Luna Alexia won’t stop until you’re killed or out of this pack. You either leave alive or dead but she’d not stop until you leave.”

Yes, I wanted to leave but with my daughter. I wanted to escape with her and start a new life in another pack, far from Miller.

She reached for my cheeks and wiped my tears. “We have limited time. You have to be strong and make that decision now or forever live with the guilt.”

She tried to take my baby from me but my tight grip didn’t let her. “Give her to me.” She slowly collected her and placed her back in her crib.

“But…. I don't wanna leave without her.” I cried bitterly. Her closed eyes broke my heart. She wasn’t even fortunate to see her mother’s or father’s face.

“You have to be strong. I promise to tell you everything as soon as we are out of here. But first, we have to leave.” She said and I took a deep breath.

She was right, escaping wasn't easy and now that I had a chance, it's best to leave.

“Shall we?” Fiona stood up and opened the door.

I took one last glance at my little cub before taking a deep breath so reassured myself that I have to be strong and the moon goddess has a purpose for everything.

Recalling Miller’s and Alexia's ill treatment only brings pain, anger and bitterness.

I bid my daughter farewell and mustered the courage to get up, “We shall.”

-

It’s been a day and 17 hours since we left the pack and I promise, I struggled to take every step as my feet were hurting really bad. My stomach rumbled hard and Fiona had been kind enough to get me whatever fruit she could find in any tree we came across.

I took a deep breath after eating the three apples she brought me. She made a gesture for us to continue our journey but I shook my head. “I can’t go any further, I feel so weak, cold and tired.” Coupled with the fact that I was yet to recover from childbirth.

“It’s just an hour walk from where we are, I promise we are almost there. I can see the pack from here.” She pointed.

“You’ve been saying that for about six hours now. I need to rest, we’ve been on this never ending journey for almost two days now… I can’t go any further, I’m exhausted.” I sat down on a huge stone. My virgina still hurts from pushing my baby out and I was still bleeding down there. Even my baby bump was a little obvious.

“I know Alpha Miller. With how obsessed he is with you, we don’t need a soothsayer to know that his warriors are out in search of you. If we remain here, there’s a possibility that he will definitely catch up with us.”

“You can go, I’d follow once I regain my strength… it’s me they want, right?” I rested my back on the tree behind me as I watched Fiona walk away. “Are you seriously going to leave me here?”

She laughed, “I see a nice fruit over there. Let me get you some, so it will help you regain your strength!” She yelled from a distance as she walked further into the bush.

The atmosphere seemed creepy immediately after she left. “Don’t stay too long! It’s getting dark and I need proper sleep!” I yelled hoping to hear her respond but it seems she had gone further into the bush.

I swallowed hard as a strange wind blew across my face and I heard the bush behind me making a strange sound. I felt another presence behind me, “Fiona? It’s you, right?” I stood to check behind me but saw nothing then fear gripped me.

Suddenly, a big hand covered my mouth and nose with a piece of clothing. My heart sank! I tried to turn to see who it was as he had covered my mouth from behind but his strong grip couldn’t let me turn.

“Hmmm.” I struggled in fear as tears rolled down my eyes. All I could do was make sure to hold my breath as I didn’t trust what this person had placed on the piece of clothing.

“My lady!” I heard Fiona’s voice then a few other men grabbed her from behind. Her gaze was fixed on me with fright written all over her.

“I’d handle this one.”

Sea ran to the front of my head to get a glimpse of him after hearing his voice. It wasn’t Miller, it was obvious their voices were different, so were their scents. I was in danger in the middle or nowhere and I could feel my consciousness slowly fading away. I could no longer hold my breath, so immediately I let it all out, I passed out into his arms.
