Spike woke up in the afternoon. His fever subsided, and he looked slightly better.

In the evening, Rahman visited them for dinner.

Mable fed Spike and started eating herself.

“What is Zoe doing in Richworth this time?” She asked casually.

Rahman shook his head. “I’m not sure. She said she had a mission.”

Mable frowned. A mission?

It was probably related to X, but she did not have the energy to deal with those matters now.

After dinner, a doctor came to examine Spike and prescribed medicine for the following day.

Spike was not as afraid of shots and medications as other children because it had been a part of his life. Since he could remember, he had taken medication, received shots, and had drawn blood.

He preferred IV fluids over bitter medicine.

Mable could not sleep at night. She could not stop thinking about whether they would find a matching hematopoietic stem cell for Spike.
