Ralph smiled. “I was going to introduce you to each other. I didn’t think you knew each other before this. You’re fated.”

Mable was speechless.

‘Fated, my ass.

‘More like ill-fated!’

Howard looked at Ralph. “Grandpa Ralph, my grandpa asked me to give you his regards. You know it’s inconvenient for him to walk, or he would’ve come to see you in person.”

Ralph waved his hand. “I know. He doesn’t have to go through the trouble if it’s inconvenient. Send him my regards.”

“Please sit,” Mable said.

Howard sat. He could not help but find it funny when he saw how confused she was.

‘Ms. Jefferson, looks like you don’t know we’re family friends.”

“Is that so?” Mable did not know.

Ralph nodded. “Yes. We just don’t interact as often now because our families are settled in the south and the north, respectively. That said, our friendship remains.”
