From what he could see in the surveillance footage, Mable did not appear particularly shocked by the contents of the notebook. Her unusual calmness made Rory suspect she might have known he had deceived her for a while now.

Rory suddenly grew irritable at the thought.

What else did Mable know?

Adam was concerned about the same thing. He immediately turned to Rory. “Rorr, what should we do now?”

Rory thought for a moment and asked, “Mable didn't go back to Richworth with Kyle and the others, did she?”

“No, she didn’t. She should still be at the Muller’s.”

Rory frowned.

He remembered Mable claiming that she returned to Italee for Zoe. If that was the case, what other reason did she have to stick around now that Zoe and Kyle were on their way back to Richworth?

The only explanation was that she had another reason for coming to Italee.

Rory immediately grabbed his phone and dialed Jeremiah's number.

As soon as the call connected, he asked, without bothering to
