Nora's POV I was silenced by Mr Miller's question. I started to nervously scratch my skin with my fingers as I looked at him eye to eye. But eventually, I realised that he'd see through me if I didn't stop so I diverted from his gaze and looked at Alvin. For the first time since I met him; this was the time I really wished I could see his face. I needed to know what he was thinking—just seeing the emptiness in his eyes and the sad way he curled his lips was not enough for me. Maybe I'd have known how to handle his father if I could see his face. I don't know why I'm so convinced that Mr Miller purposely asked this question. He knew what he was doing; and I couldn't shake the fact that he might really be the “Don Miller” I think he is. I remember the countless times my father forced me to attend his meeting with every member of the Scorpion Mafia family and I can still recall him talking about Andrew Miller, the leader and Don of the Black Mamba mafia family. There was also a day
Nora's POV I woke up to a slight pain in my head. My hands moved on the bed with closed eyes to find my phone. But the texture of the bed sheets made me realise too soon that it wasn't the one on my bed. I carefully opened my eyes, and for a second thought I was dreaming. I was on top of a king size bed in a room as large as our whole house. There were thick and expensive-looking curtains covering the windows, a castle chandelier, some chairs and some other things. The room smelt of wealth, and for a second I wished it was my house in heaven. Getting off the bed and sitting at the edge; I closed my eyes for a while and remembered everything that happened in an instant. “I must have passed out… again,” I said to myself, standing up. Once again, I knew the right thing to do was going to the room's door and bursting it out before Alvin came to stop me from going—but I was tired of that. What am I going to do at home, anyways? Go and cry at my misfortune? Or mourn the fact that I h
Author's POV The night was cool and peaceful, and the only sounds being heard was from nature and the busy roads of Los Angeles. Nora was in the room she had woken up in. She was sitting on the bed and looking up to the ceiling since she couldn't sleep a wink. She was wearing a nightgown now—one that a smiling maid who introduced herself as Madam Maris had given her. Nora had learnt that she was the woman in charge of all Alvin's maids. And she had wondered just how many staff he had in this gigantic house since he lived alone. The room was somewhat cold since the air conditioner was at full blast, but Nora wasn't ready to cover with the duvet or reduce the temperature of the air conditioner. Someone had come to drop her bag as Alvin had promised. And when she opened her phone; all she saw was seven missed calls from David. Catherine didn't call—not that Nora cared, though. But it was very weird. Catherine was the kind of person that would ask you to join her in eating after y
Last chapter's continuation (Flash back) Alvin kept turning on his bed because his mind wasn't at rest at all. He had a lot going on in his life—and just closing his eyes made him see his problems and automatically decide that they can never be a permanent solution to them. Nora's face suddenly popped into his memory and he shut his eyes immediately. He couldn't stop thinking about her and wondering what she thought about him. He had stopped her from going home not just because it was dark but because he didn't want to risk the possibility of her being seen by his father. Alvin was sure his father could decide to kill her silently and sweep it under the chair—and there was no way he would know about it since it'll be very unlikely and absurd for them to “coincidentally” meet again. But still, Alvin couldn't think of any more excuses to give her when it was morning. There was no way he could continue to keep her in his sight and refuse to let her go—that was completely imposs
Meanwhile, in California, Raven and Venom with two Scorpion guys were in a club. The time was around 2a.m. Now, the four of them were seated in a four-chair setup with a table in the middle. They were drinking in silence and watching the people at the other part of the club dancing tirelessly. Raven's leg was tied with a cloth where it was shot. The injury was long gone since he had spent two days at home to rest but it still pained him. He grunted every now and then and took a sip of his drink, his thoughts wavering far into space. Venom insisted that they came here for unknown reasons; and Raven had accepted not because he wanted to but because he knew Raven had the favour of the Scorpion Mafia family. A minute later, a cough could be heard from one of the guys. “I'm exhausted, man. I feel like I need a break,” he said. Venom darted his head to his direction, the grip on the glass of whiskey in his hands intensifying. “I don't recognise you, but I did notice you look alot
Morning came at last. It was sunny and a little noisy as the birds of the sky welcomed the new day with beautiful songs. Catherine walked out of David's house with a frown on her face. She was wearing the same cloth she had come here with yesterday and her bag was tightly held under her hands. David also opened the door after her and stepped out with a hot coffee mug brewing in his hands. If he was happier than Catherine, then that would mean he was a hell of a real actor to not let it show. Catherine started walking to the gate with the frown staying consistent on her face but David suddenly stopped her. “Where do you think you're going?“ She stopped immediately and abruptly turned with a look of anger in her eyes. “What sort of question is that, David? Where does it look like I'm going?“ David stared at her for a moment with his poker expression and looked at the watch on his wrist. He then walked to the outdoor hut house wearing a white bathrobe. He sat down on the swinge
It was 9p.m. in the morning when Nora woke up. She had a smile on her face like she'd had the best dream of her life. Nora stretched on the bed and turned to the other side. Alvin was still sleeping. Her smile widened as she saw his beautiful sleeping structure. The lower part of his body was covered with the bed's blanket and the upper part was bare to the face. A blush crept up her cheeks when she recalled what they had done last night. She could practically still feel his hands on her skin as he explored and did wonders to her body. Nora brought up her hands and stroked his hair, making sure to be careful so she wouldn't wake him. The feel of his hair was soft under her hands and she suddenly wished she could swap it with hers. She had this feeling in her heart that was too good to be true—she didn't know exactly what it was—but knew she started to develop it the first time they met in that gas station and mistakenly kissed. Her hands moved to his forehead and she closed
Author's POV Alvin apologised to Nora and dressed up in less than five minutes before he walked to the door and opened it. Mr Lyam was standing there, his eyes darting around as he tried to force his vision into the room. Alvin was leaning at the door frame and still had the door open; and he suddenly pushed Mr Lyam the moment he realised what he was trying to do. “Why are you here?“ Alvin angrily demanded. Mr Lyam looked at his master's face, then stepped his feet on the ground like he was standing at attention. “Bonjour, boss!“ “The morning wouldn't be good if you don't tell me why you're here at this moment,” Alvin snapped. Mr Lyam looked up at his face since he was far shorter than Alvin. “You look happy, master—happier than you've been in a long time. If I may ask: what is the cause of your happiness? I just want to know so I can do it if you ever go sad again.“ Alvin gritted his teeth and shut the door with anger. “I asked you a question, Mr Lyam! Why are you knocking o
Raven walked towards them with a gun in his hands while pushing Catherine forward. He had a look of bloodlust in his eyes as he stopped and spat just a few feets away from Alvin and Nora who were still on the ground. Catherine's eyes were half-closed from tiredness and fatigue and it seemed she hadn't realised that it was Nora in front of her. She finally did when Raven pushed her with force to the ground. Catherine groaned as her body landed on the ground and she looked up at Nora who looked equally shocked and confused to see her. Catherine's mouth was quivering as she stared at Nora, so guilty and distracted by her presence that she didn't see Alvin near her. “N-nora…” she stammered. “I thought you were… gone. I'm sorry for—” She had wanted to get up as she spoke but Raven kicked her back to the ground. “R-raven… don't!“ Nora screamed. “It's me you want, right? Take me and let her be.“ Raven laughed. “I've waited for this moment for a long time… ever since the will was rea
(Last chapter's continuation) Alvin lowered his height as he came out of the car. He wasn't wearing a mask again and his heart beat faster than usual out of fear. He really didn't have a plan—didn't know how the Scorpions or whoever attacked them was successful when Darkie and the Mamba Soldiers were behind. He was thinking to walk to the back of the car and start shooting then wait for Darkie and the two soldiers to join him. There was silence all around except from the occassional passing of other cars. Alvin balanced himself and looked to his right, just realising that they were well off the mainroad. He suddenly rose to his full height to attack the masked guys who had hijacked them when he felt the barrel of a gun on his head from behind. Alvin planned to surprise the person behind him and shoot him dead but froze when he heard a voice. “Don't even think about it. Drop the guns.“ Alvin turned slowly and gasped when he saw the voice owner was indeed Darkie. Before he coul
Author's POV They both came out of the office and started to go to the ground floor with Nora's hands in his. He had given her another cross-bag to put the pistols inside. Nora was almost tempted to stop at Amanda's office as they passed but didn't when she saw the expression on Alvin's face. They got to the elevator, and as they waited Nora wondered where they were going. “Nice of you to have kept your guns in your office. It seems you really trusted that guy.“ “I did,” Alvin responded. “And this is how he repays me—by fucking my secretary on my desk. I'm so going to fry him when I'm finally settled.“ “What about Amanda?“ asked Nora. “What about her?“ “What are you going to do with her?“ “Fire her of course,” Alvin replied with a smile. “I can't believe my father had actually wanted me to marry someone like that. Now I have enough reasons to not marry her.“ Nora wanted to speak but shut up as a result of the fact that he mentioned his father. The elevator stopped and op
(Last chapter's continuation) The Ferrari drove out of the hotel smoothly and without any problems. When they were out, Alvin was half-expecting guys wearing black jumping from the shadows to hijack the car. But nothing happened. Maybe it was this peaceful since it was still 7:30 in the morning. The car started to drive at a leisurely pace through the express road, and Nora continuously caught glances from Jake in the rear mirror which made her uncomfortable. “Why're we going to your company?“ she quietly asked Alvin. “Because I'm going there to take some things I need,” replied Alvin. He caught Jake watching them with curiosity and was almost tempted to slap him from the back seat. “Can I know what's going on now, please?“ asked Jake. “We're already “on the way”. Alvin sighed and looked at Nora who was now staring out of the window. “Jake, this is Nora. And Nora; this is Jake, my best and closest friend.“ Nora managed a nod, not bothering to say anything or look out of t
Alvin and Nora got out of the bathroom after towelling themselves in total silence. Nora picked a new pair of underwear from the ones Alvin had bought and put it on at the back of the wardrobe. Alvin did the same but didn't change his clothes since they were still new and fresh. Nora went back to the bathroom and combed her hair since it was rougher than the situation on ground, then she wore a khaki short and a big and black T-shirt. They were both done with their dressing at last, and could barely look each other in the eyes again. Nora felt weird. It seemed like making love with Alvin had completely made her forget that there was a problem at all. Both their lives were at risk, and yet they had forgotten that and were having fun in the bathroom. Nora suddenly realised that they hadn't left the hotel even when it was obvious that a close friend to Mr Miller was the owner. She realised both of their lives would be at stake if they didn't leave there in some minutes. And what stop
David couldn't sleep throughout the night. His eyes were wide open as he was completely confused and unaware of what was happening. He didn't know how he got cut-up in this situation, but he did know that Nora was linked to the reason he was there. He just couldn't close his eyes since he was constantly cursing himself and regretting the fact that he hadn't let her be even when she insisted and showed that she hated him with passion. Now, it was morning. And he could see the outside world through the dog cage he was in. He hadn't eaten or drank anything since yesterday when he arrived here—they hadn't given him anything to eat or drink. Not that he cared much about food, though. He was thinking about his family and how they may be faring after probably hearing from his staff and bodyguards that he left home and didn't come back for the night. He was sure they'd take quick action since he always made sure to inform them if he wasn't going to return and always called his Butler when h
Nora's POV I woke up with a smile on my face and wiped my eyes with my hands. The rays of the morning sun were poking-out through the blinds at the window. I had never felt this happy in all my life—my heart was filled with so much joy like I won a billion dollar lotto. I felt something firmly pressed against me from the back, and when I turned my head and discovered what it was, I felt my cheeks go hot. Alvin was lying on his side completely naked with my equally naked back pressed against him. His hands were slightly wrapped around me in a possessive way, and his hair was on the bed. I felt sore down there just from thinking of all the things we did last night. We had made love all over and over again until I couldn't take it anymore and crashed into his arms. I could tell that he was satisfied—and I had been too. I wouldn't deny that sex with him is the best thing that has ever happened to me—far better and more passionate than the ones I remembered having with David. I frown
Morning came at last. The sky was bright and promising a new day; and Los Angeles was as lively as usual. Catherine slowly let her eyes open to see the new day. Raven had totally forgotten about her since the last time he came. He didn't even ask any of the Scorpion Soldiers to feed or give her water. The tears in her eyes and face had dried completely. She looked worse than a slave who had not been fed for days and had been working non-stop despite that. Catherine managed to get up from the small bed in which she had barely gotten any sleep the night before. She crossed her arm over her body as a result of cold. Last night had been so cold that she felt like she would freeze to death since there wasn't a blanket on the bed. She felt hungry and abandoned, and wondered who Nora was and why she (Catherine) was going through hell just because of her. “You should have thought about that before you sold her information to that guy,” a voice in her head said. Catherine started to cry
Don Miller gritted his teeth as he stepped out of his Cadillac car. One of the three Black Mamba soldiers who had accompanied him for the day slowly shut the door behind him as his legs touched the ground. The angry-looking Don turned the moment the door was locked and said to the soldier who closed it: “Why did you shut the door with so much force?!“ The helpless guy looked at the other two soldiers in confusion and shock. He looked really confused because he had locked the door really professionally and silently. “I thought I shut it well, Don. I'm sorry if it might have sounded forced to you.“ He bowed to show his sincerity. Don Miller's anger heightened to the fullest. “Are you trying to say I'm deaf? Or I don't know what I'm saying? You f*cking shut the door with all the force in the world and you're denying it! Are you freaking insane?“ The soldier looked a little frightened and flustered as he crashed to the ground and begged the Don for mercy. “I'm sorry, Don. I'll never
