Chapter 13 - Mystery

KEISHA stood inside the closet while covering her mouth. The screams of her mother echoed as she begged endlessly to keep her daughter alive. There was a deafening sound of groans and punches her father endured as he was beaten to death. All Keisha could do was to keep herself quiet and watch them through the small crack on the closet.

The tears fell down her cheeks since she was helpless. What can a five-year-old girl do in this situation? One sound from her would cause her to lose her life. She did not believe in god anymore after this. How can he let both of her parents die as she watched helplessly?

Loud gunshots and explosions made her feel weaker. Her legs collapsed on her while trying to silence out the noises she was hearing. Her parents taught her well. If there was an attack, she should save herself even if she can't save them.

She was only five yet she knew that she would never see them again. Her ears started to ring from the explosions and gunshots.
