CHAPTER 4

It got to the extent that I became too curious, wondering what could have happened to him or in what situation Endrick was present. 

I was not in my right mind because I couldn't get through to Endrick. Was it because I love him? 

I asked myself. Looks like love has eventually blinded my eyes for me to forget all the painful situations I have been through during my first relationship with Endrick. Well, it looks like the saying that love is blind is true. I smiled to myself but was still curious about Endrick's whereabouts.

 In this life, most people always wish for others' conditions but never think about how the person lives his life. That is the case for Endrick. 

This made me remember when I was in college.

 A lot of people were jealous of the Endrick family.

They always wish they were the one in that wealthy family, but only if they thought about the challenges and the pressure faced by the person they are jealous of, they would not think of that. 

In particular, I was also part of those who were jealous of his wealthy life. I feel sorry for him. 

I just wondered if I could get through to him by calling him. So I tried calling his number and, luckily for me, he picked up. 

With the way he was talking to me, it seemed as if Endrick was drunk. My heart raced! I never imagined that Endrick could drink to the extent that he would be wasted. 

I asked him where he was, and he narrowly replied, saying he was in a bar close to the company. 

I quickly got dressed to link up with him. I got to where he was, but the state I met him in was very bad. 

I helped him to his car but, because of the way he was drunk, he didn't know where he was talking about driving. 

If only I knew his house I would have taken him there, but the problem now is, I don't know where he lives. The only thing I could think of was taking him to my house. So I boarded a taxi and I took him to my house.

 I managed to take him inside, but he could not lift his leg, so I used all the energy a feminine gender had to take him inside. 

Then a strange thing happened. I felt the covers slide down my body, and then a hand lighted on the small of my back.

 It was so warm it was hot like the blood that ran through its veins went faster than the blood of any average man. 

If this was true, it wouldn’t surprise me. I had a moment that I could never imagine. A moment when my mind said to close my eyes and open my mouth.

 His hands were rubbing my back, and he was about to close my mouth with a kiss, but immediately he passed out. 

I thought if what I was doing was right, and I was thinking of doing it, honest to God, I was.

Then I felt his weight hit the bed, his body stretching out beside mine. The next day he was awake, and he started wondering how he got to my abode. 

 I explained everything to him.

 But the funniest part is that he asked whether he did anything nasty, maybe like kissing me, but I told him he never attempted to do that. 

He didn't have any memory of what happened to him. I made hangover soup for him. 

I went to work because I was on the morning shift. When I got to work, I noticed Endrick's dad was asking for him. 

All the receptionists were asked if he had come to the office that day, but all responded that we had not set our eyes on him that morning.

 As his father left, I quickly went to the toilet to give him an update on what was happening in the company. 

So luckily for him, he had left my house, and he was currently at his house. He quickly dressed up, and he arrived at the company. He went to his father's office to answer his call for him. 

Why are you late? 

In a thick tone, Endrick's dad asked him why he was late, and he lied to his dad that he was feeling unwell and that he had a migraine. 

You have migraines!

His dad exclaimed.

 So you have started lying now right as he questioned him. Endrick later left his father's office angrily.

 It seemed as if things were not working quite well for him. 

His facial expressions tell it all that the talk between him and his father was quite rough.

 Endrick later returned to his office to attend to some things he had to complete. However, when I was executing my duty as a receptionist, a client of a company barged in and started shouting at all the receptionists, as my senior colleagues pointed to me to handle the situation. 

I was shocked that an intern like me would be pushed to handle such matters, but what could I do? 

So I tried my best to calm the client down. 

All efforts proved abortive. I was madly angry at the company for trying to ask the client about the complaints he would like to make, but instead, the client started abusing me, saying that about my job as a professional.

 I tried to ask for the attention of my senior colleagues, but they all ignored my plea. 

Not long later, Endrick suddenly appeared on the scene, to calm the client down because the noise was too much disrupting all activities going on in the company.

 He tried talking to the client, making a fuss to calm down and state his complaint, but it was as if the client just showed up to cause trouble at Champion, Endrick's father's company.

 Endrick called out the receptionist manager to ask about what she was doing for a so-called infuriating client to be talking down to receptionist Mary, calling out my name, and she just quickly made an excuse to justify her actions.

 Endrick called on security to take out the client because he was not ready to make a complaint but just causing a fuss... 

I was so happy, and I was blushing that Endrick came to my rescue of a client causing a nuisance in which the receptionist failed to curtail the company reception. 

I was happy for myself as the security bundled out the person causing problems at the company. 

 Not only that, Endrick also questioned the receptionist manager about her not stepping up to protect one of the company staff. He was angry about how she would be on duty and still failed to fulfill her obligation to protect one of the receptionists from verbal attacks from a client. I silently smiled as Endrick defended me.

 “Wow”

I was amazed that Endrick has changed a lot into a cool and wonderful guy. 

As Endrick was about to take his leave from the reception and return to his office, a lady came asking for him.
