“You won’t be the one proposing the cancellation. I will.”

The ward fell silent once more.

Linda was stunned for a total of three seconds before she registered what North said, and she screeched, “What did you just say?!”

If Eiger proposed the cancellation, it would be fine because North had cheated on him repeatedly, as if she was addicted to it. But if it became North who proposed the cancellation, what would people say? They would blame Melinda for it!

Linda could not allow that to happen!

Melinda’s pale face became stricken with tears. “North, I know that you feel upset about this, but you can’t just take out your frustrations on Eiger…”

Once Eiger finally wrapped his head around what North said, the tiny bit of guilt he felt toward her faded away. “What on earth are you trying to pull now?”

North snorted. “Mr. Eiger, you want to cancel your engagement with me because you saw those photos and think I’m indecent, right?”

Eiger scowled. “Yes. That’s it. I won’t be with a woman who’s slept with many men before!”

North nodded. She brought out her phone from her handbag and opened the video she had prepared.

Melinda’s expression froze over. She wanted to stop North, but it was too late.

A man was kneeling in the video while crying, apologizing, and begging for mercy.

“It wasn’t me! Melinda Myers gave me two hundred thousand dollars to photoshop those photos! She wanted to ruin North Myers’s reputation! It has nothing to do with me!

“Melinda wanted to ruin the wedding, so I just did what she asked! Please spare me!”

Then, the man handed over the check Melinda gave him.

It was for exactly two hundred thousand dollars with Melinda’s name written on the bottom right corner of the check.

Melinda had hired the man to create false evidence of North cheating on Eiger.

And North had proof of it!

Everyone in the ward turned to Melinda, while her teary face became drained of blood.

Linda and Henry took a step back, and their lips quivered.

In a nonchalant and relaxed manner, North asked, “I’m indecent?”

Eiger trembled.

“You’re amazing, Melinda,” North said in a cold voice. “You spent two hundred thousand dollars to take my place. Both you and your mother have done things like this for fifteen years, and you’re still not sick of it?”

Instinctively, Linda shouted, “Shut up! This is defamation!”

North ignored her and turned to Eiger.

“As for you, you refused to listen to me even though you’re my fiance. You accused me of cheating and even humiliated me for Melinda. She is more important to you than me, your fiancee!

“You cheated on me, pretended to love me, and couldn’t distinguish the truth. You have no right to demand an engagement cancellation from me. If anyone is asking for a cancellation, it’s me, you cheating sc*mbag!”

Melinda froze. Even her crocodile tears got stuck in her eyes and refused to fall. She felt really awkward.

Eiger was trembling from rage. In the past, North had always listened to him, but she was actually calling him a sc*mbag now?

The doctor and nurses were giving the family strange looks. They were feeling angry for North.

“It’s clear that Melinda Myers has set up North Myers, but no one in the family actually suspected foul play? Are they all stupid?”

“Didn’t you hear what North Myers said? The mother and daughter have used such tactics for fifteen years. They must have set up North Myers plenty of times before, so the family definitely knows the truth!”

“Melinda is pure and kind? What a joke. She ruined her sister’s wedding and stole her fiance. She even ruined her reputation…”

“A mistress’s daughter became a mistress, huh? North Myers is a proper heiress, so how could she seduce a man?”

When Linda heard the nurses and doctor accuse Melinda of being a mistress, just like her, she could not say anything because of shock.

She was not a mistress, and neither was Melinda! North was the mistress! She was the one who was not loved, but wanted to stay engaged to Eiger! But he was Melinda’s!
