Gerald drummed his fingers on the tabletop lightly. “Answer it.”

Ian seemed somewhat nervous. “Mr. Gerald, Reina said that you would come to her birthday banquet. I wonder…” He broke off.

“What is it?”

Ian gulped. “I-It’s nothing. I was just wondering if Reina was spouting nonsense. Mr. Gerald, every member of the Myers family is looking forward to receiving you!”

Connor rolled his eyes to one side. Gerald’s name held a lot of weight in Peacevale. It was unsurprising that the Myers family was looking forward to receiving such an important person at their home.

Gerald’s tone was mild. “How are the preparations coming along?”

Ian assumed that Gerald was asking out of concern for Reina. As such, he became more excited. “Don’t worry, Reina’s birthdays have always been grand affairs. We’ve always put a lot of effort into the event.”

Gerald let out a mocking laugh when he noticed that Ian only mentioned Reina. “Grand affairs? Do you mean that all of Peacevale knows it’s her birthday?”
