70. Burned It Down

Fabian’s POV

We crept toward the boundary line. We took our time getting inside. We watched and listened to see if anything moved, but nothing did. It was strange that we didn't see even one territory border patrol while we were there. It was clear that something was wrong.

Everything was quiet and quiet when we got close to the stone tunnel. Had they heard about us and then left?

I told a group of my men to go around the wall and head toward the hallway, to see if they could see anything.

We jumped over the wall and moved inside, which seemed to be empty. There was no one left behind. We went to the house where Abby was being held, I broke the door and watched it fall to the floor in pieces. I stood there and listened, but there was no sound at all. I looked to my left and put my anger on the table by the door.

My men kept searching the area while I walked away with clenched teeth and fists at my sides. I looked around each room as I went through them. No one was there.
