40. Sudden Pity

Abby’s POV

I lost a lot of blood, so I have to stay in bed and can't walk or stand up yet. Fabian was busy at work today and has many business matters to take care of. When I rolled over in bed, The door opened, and I gasped as I saw Xander staring at me with a serious face. Then he put his hand in his pocket while walking towards me. I had no idea what to say to him or why he was here, but I think Fabian sent him here to look after me.

He said "Hi" to me in a husky voice, and then he started to light up his cigarette. I shook my head and stared at him. "Please don't smoke here. If you want to smoke, go outside and don't do it in front of me."

He gives a soft laugh, throws his cigarette out the window, and looks at me. "So you lost the baby like Faye?"

"Do you have the nerve to ask me something like that?" I yanked the pillow at him in anger. "If you're glad this is happening to me, be glad! You're evil!"

He sat on the couch with his legs crossed and said calmly, "You know what, Abby?
