CHAPTER 1

the world was now overruled by magic. in the early years of 2000 magic had a rupted from the core of the Earth destroying all technology and modern day buildings. the few humans that survived were met by the many magical beings that emerge from the core. and they were forced to bow if not serve the intensity of the magic creatures. as the years passed the magic began to grow order and soon kingdoms were made.

The Kingdom of Eden, Kingdom of the Centaurs.

The Kingdom of Salazar, Kingdom of the Dragons.

The Kingdom of Nite, Kingdom of the Elves.

The Kingdom of Coral, Kingdom of the Mermaids.

While each kingdom pose their own type of strength it was well known that the kingdom of Salazar was perhaps the most powerful of all the four kingdoms.

All four kingdoms lived in harmony and peace with each other, not wanting to repeat the past mistakes of the world.

Unfortunately, all is not well in one certain Kingdom. The Kingdom of Salazar.

A certain Prince had to be married and the King of the Salazar Kingdom had taken it upon himself to select a saintess to marry him. This, however, would only be the start of problems as well as a new adventure......

*********

Venus Willridge stared at herself remorsefully in the long body length mirror. Normally, all women were thrilled to see themselves in their own wedding dress. A day they had dreamed since they were little girls.

However, Venus felt depressed and even somewhat scared. While the wedding gown itself was beautiful, it was not the dress she desired. This was not the wedding she wanted. Most importantly, Prince BlackScale, Heir to Salazar Kingdom, was not the man she wanted to marry.

Venus had been called upon from her home in the temple of Lilith. she had a Saintess there since she was 18. she had lived in service and simplicity for 4 years now. she had hoped to return home on her own terms by the time she was 25 and look for marriage then. however when news got around that the prince was seeking marriage her father Lord will ridge had immediately assured her home. whether it was the fate of Willis or some other God she unfortunately had been chosen to marry the heir to the throne.

"I don't want to marry into the dragon family!" Venus protested in her mind.

The Prince was the youngest member in the Salazar Royal Kingdom but he was also, selfish, petty, and often said to take multiple women in bed at once. For the Prince of The Salazar Kingdom, he was horrible.

More than ever as Venus stared at herself in her own wedding gown that she wished that she was back at the Temple of Lilith. She wished she had never received such an envelope and had never placed on this outfit.

But this was soon to be her life now. Spending the rest of her days, married miserably to a man who she did not know or love. Venus also had a feeling that the prince did not love her either. Perhaps, he never will.

A servant knocked on the dressing room door and poked her head inside.

"Madam, are you ready?" she asked Venus.

Venus was reminded where she was. she was to be married at the temple of Lilith, the very Temple that she was a saintess at. It seemed almost a slap in the face to her now that she was to be wet here against her will.

Venus sighed and slowly nodded her head. Deep down, she knew she never would be really ready for this.

"Let's just get this over with," Venus miserably thought.

Minutes later, she stood before the tall doors of the Great Hall of her local church. She heard the large orchestrated wedding band playing behind it. Venus knew on the other side of these doors, practically all the Nobles of the Kingdom as well as Venus's family were eagerly awaiting her arrival.

A wedding to the heir of the throne was no small feat and of course, with the Salazar funding, it was made into no such.

The wide doors slowly open and revealed the long aisle before Venus.

Commonfolk from Venus's Village stood in the very back and closest to Venus currently. They wore their best dresses and placed on at least all of the jewelry they possessed hoping to allure a noble into their graces. They wished to gain Venus's luck as well: a commoner into royalty, if not, nobility.

The crowd that stood in the middle of the seatings were the noble folk. Their gowns were finer and flasher than the common folk. They were made of a mix of silk, cotton and styled in different types of patterns that Venus had only ever dreamed of seeing. Large and long necklaces hanged around their necks. Heavy looking silver and gold rings covered almost every single finger that they had. Some smirked at Venus as she began her ascension down the aisle.

Venus's heels clacked slightly as she placed them upon the red aisle rug. She kept her eyes down and did not hold a smile to her face. She knew perhaps her new family would be upset by this but she had already stated her feelings quite clearly about this marriage. and they had made it very clear to her that her opinions and feelings did not matter. Venus was a woman and she must do as she was told.

As she reached the front of the aisle, she saw the royals. The royal family of Salazar kingdom. The Salazar royal family was unique not because of its bloodline but as well as their looks. While they did inherit the ancient dragon bloodline, they also inherited some similar appearances that made them look like a dragon.

Closest to her left was the Mother Queen, Pentunia. Her eyes were not as a human's but as a yellow-eyed dragon. small red scales covered around her eyes and freckled onto around her top of her cheeks and her eyebrows. her long Dragon like nails gripped around her cane. They were perhaps 3 in long and curved. A long terrifying set of a dark red wings were attached to her back. they were folded but yet we're noticable by all who stood in the church today.

Next to her was King of the Kingdom, King Bloodstar. He was the elder brother of Prince Blackscale. He had only been King for a short time due to the elder King had recently passed away. Seeing the New King of the Salazar Kingdom, made Venus feel butterflies in her stomach as well as blush.

The King was gorgeous. Perhaps the most gorgeous man she had ever seen. His eyes held the pupils of a dragon and his throat was covered in hard small black and red scales. It presented itself almost like a turtleneck sweater in a sense. His blonde hair was combed backwards and an hard expression was held on his face.

His eyes landed on Venus and the two locked eyes for a brief moment. In the next moment, the King looked away from her.

Venus looked away too, blushing slightly.

"Too bad I'm not marrying him." Venus thought to herself.

Who was she kidding? That was the King! Most Kings were handsome after all. A family of Dragonblood were no exception.

Venus look to her right and saw all of her family. Lord will ridge her father still closest to the aisle. he wore his finest suit with a large lion pelt that dripped over his shoulders. His long black coat connected to the pelt and went down all the way to his feet. next to him was Venus's stepmother, Adele. Venus had lost her mother at a very young age and Adele had married into the family while Venus was still young. Adele had treated her nothing but kindness as if she was her very own daughter. Adele was holding back tears. she wiped her wet hand on her golden and white dress. She nodded to Venus. Venus gave her a small smile.

Venus looked ahead at her husband to be. He wore a bright red tuxedo with a bright red tie to match. His blonde hair too was combed back tightly and nice. The small bent backwards horns that came from the sides of his head were sharpened and polished. His green eyes casted a bored and unimpressed look at Venus. Freckles of small red scales littered his face in an unattractive manner.

The pastor whispered to the prince, who therefore rolled his eyes and held out a scaly and Sharp clawed hand to Venus.

Venus sucked in her cheeks and took Prince BlackScale's hand.

In her mind, she was screaming in rejection to this marriage. She wanted to toss her flowers in Prince BlackScale's face and run right back down the isle.

But doing so.... could cost her and her own family their lives.

"Everyone, may sit." The Pastor spoke. "Let us begin this union."
