‘Okay get up!!!'.Alice heard her sister-in-law's voice from a distance and was instantly awoken by a bright light.

‘What the hell Cathy it's Saturday'.She groaned and turned around but Catherine only made it worse by dragging the sleeping bags off her body.

‘Get up sleeping hag, today is a day of fun'.

‘Fun??'.

‘Yes, fun and when I mean fun I mean a makeover'.

‘I don't want a makeover,I want to sleep,I have been working my ass off all week so please give me a break Cathy'.Alice begged in a strained voice.

‘Ohh you poor thing,you're stuck in this stupid marriage cycle that you don't know what fun is anymore but not to worry I've got you covered,you need this Alice'.Catherine,in her unrelenting state dragged her sister-in-law and close friend out of bed and Alice reluctantly got up.

Catherine was an impossible woman to convince when it comes to makeovers and fashion.

‘What do I need a makeover for?? I have a good sense of—

‘Yeah you do honey but it's so 2018,what you need is a fresh start and a new haircut too.So today we're going to have breakfast here then head to the spa,go shopping and then have lunch,go swimming,get new haircuts and then clubbing'.Catherine chattered on incessantly and Alice sighed deeply.

‘Okay let's do this but make sure my coffin is ready cause I smell death'.

Landon paced back and forth in his office angrily as he waited on for Lucas's response on the new deal.

Patience was a virtue he didn't have and it was clearly showing through the veins that were popping on his neck.

Lucas,with a frown on his face walked into his brother's office and placed the signed contract on his table without any form of excitement.

‘The partnership is done,can I go now??'.He said in a lacklustre tone and Landon couldn't help but be appalled by it.

‘Are you serious?? This is a huge win for us and you're just going to go cold on me??'.

‘Well did you know that without Alice we wouldn't have gotten this?? You know one thing I really hate is the fact that you don't even give a damn about a woman who just wants to be part of your life'.

Ohh so this is what it's about,Landon rolled his eyes and sat down.

‘Look here Lucas,Alice and I have agreed to part ways in six months to come okay?? Now can i—

‘Give her a call and thank her for once,she deserves the credit'.Lucas muttered and walked away angrily.

His brother had a gem in his hands and still refuses to acknowledge that fact.

His no-nonsense work ethic has driven such a huge hole in his heart that there wasn't any form of love in his heart anymore.

He just hoped it wasn't too late before Landon realizes his mistake.

‘Told you a chop is what you needed'.Catherine said as the hair stylist turned the chair around for Alice to see her new look and she was taken aback by it.

It was like she was a whole new woman and it was crazy how a change in hairstyle could influence a person.

‘Oh my God'.She gasped as she stood up and she couldn't help but cry and hug her sister-in-law.

‘You are amazing Cathy,thank you for forcing me to do this'.

‘You deserve this after all and trust me when La...nah let's not talk about him anyway,there's three more things on our list so let's have some fun shall we??'.Catherine held herself and Alice smirked warmly.

Mentioning Landon was like putting a barrier in fun and she didn't want that to be the case for Alice.

She deserves some happiness in her life.

9pm and Landon was starting to get annoyed as he ate dinner alone without his wife seated far away from him.

They never really talked on the dining table but it was better than seating alone and listening to the annoying sound of the ticking clock next to him.

Alice walked in later and he almost choked on the salad he was eating.

She was totally unrecognizable and he couldn't help but like the new change in her.

‘You cut your hair i see??'.

‘I didn't think you'd notice'.She mummured as she sat down, instructed the maids to take her shopping bags away and he nipped his bottom lip.

Maybe Lucas was right, maybe he had been acting like a jerk towards her.

‘Why would you think that??'.He asked anyway even though he knew the answer to the question and she frowned deeply.

‘Well this is the closest thing to a compliment you've said to me since our marriage'.

‘So you're saying I don't compliment you en—

‘I don't care about the compliments Landon!! this is an arranged marriage and I am very much aware of that but we just didn't say our vows for nothing?? You know what I'm out of here'.She started to rise and he sighed deeply.

‘Sit okay?? I just want to talk'.He said and she reluctantly sat down.

For the fact that he wanted to talk to her it meant that it was important and work related.

‘I haven't been the perfect husband you—

‘I don't want a perfect husband Landon,I just don't want to be treated like a stranger in a home that is supposedly mine'.She corrected him and he pursed his lips.

‘Okay fine then—like I was saying,I haven't been owning up to my end of the bargain and I'm sorry,I'm sorry for treating you badly and like a stranger when I should be making you feel at least good as a married woman'.He said and she glowered.

Did he just apologize??,she thought and nodded even though fireworks were sparking inside her body.

‘ I also want to thank you for helping Lucas and I secure that major deal and to make it up to you I signed us both for a vacation in Hawaii'.He said and her mouth dropped wide open.

’Did you just say Vacation?!!'.
