Chapter 77

"Sweetheart, wake up."

Alice stretched. Dimly aware in her deep sleep, she heard someone whispering in her ear. Opening her eyes, Alice smiled. She found Ashton hugging her tightly.

Initially, she wanted to jump. She almost forgot that now and in the future, she wouldn't be sleeping alone anymore. Ashton was there, clearly her companion every night. Always kissing and hugging her tightly, making sure she slept soundly.

"Yes, I'm awake."

"How did you sleep last night? Soundly?"

Alice nodded. She didn't deny that since sleeping in the same bed with Ashton, from their honeymoon until now, her sleep had been much more restful and of higher quality.

"Very soundly. Very, very soundly."

"Maybe because of my hugs?"

Alice smiled. The woman nodded in agreement.

"It seems so. But, honestly. When I'm hugged by you, I feel safe and comfortable."

Ashton laughed now. He reached for Alice's body and hugged her tightly.

"I'm happy to hug you every day, every second, every moment, every chance I get."
