72. Soulmate

Kiara was being pulled back to a painfully vivid memory. He once dragged her like this, offering nothing but compulsion to obey wherever he would take her. That was when Dave saved her, the first time she met Alpha Silas.

Saved her. How does that word sound so far away now? He didn't take her to the terrace but across the front garden, where she felt raindrops falling on her cheeks. The sky was dark, starless black as far as the eye could see, and the wind roared like waves in the middle of the ocean. She could tell that a storm was about to hit.

He only let her go when he had taken her out of the manor area. far from his family and outside the front gate. Slowly, fear crept over her. The weather only made things worse, the lightning that struck made her guts melt like ice before fire. But that was nothing compared to the man who was now standing before her after dragging her here.

A pain, so close to the surface flashed behind his eyes as he stared into her face.

I wanted to say maybe I was too hasty yesterday. But now reading this, seeing that Angeline and Silas will get what they want. I get it is a story, but at what point is too much too much? Done as of this weekend, the dragging of Angeline's treachery and no one telling what Angeline did is too much.
