Chapter 5: The Encounter

With all his wedding preparation I almost had work I had work, I worked at a small homely café and I knew almost all our customers cause like I said it was a small place.

I got in a few minutes to my shift and went to the back to get ready.

As soon as my shift started I had customers at my table already, I was taking an order for a customer when the manager called on me and asked that I serve a table that wasn’t mine. When I tried to ask why he screamed at me so much that it got the attention of the whole café.

“Yes sir” I replied quickly and hurriedly left his presence.

“Sir what would you like to have,” I asked the customer still a little teary.

He didn’t even raise his head or remove his face cap, he stretched his hand and I gave him the menu.

“Do you expect me to read anything on this wet piece of paper?” he asked arrogantly

I wanted to reply but that voice sounded so familiar. I picked up the paper from where he threw it and saw that it was wet.

After he placed an order for a cup of black coffee I went to make it and as if my day couldn’t get any worse he poured the coffee all over me right from his mouth. When I asked the problem he didn’t say.

I hurried to get another one but he was gone before I came, as was about to clean the table I saw a note “I took the liberty of helping you end this sham you call a job…you will thank me later” the manager immediately called me into his office and fired me without any reason.

I cried myself all the way home, got into bed and still cried myself to sleep.

My wedding is in a week and I am glad it is happening before the school session resumes my stepmother and sister have not been at home much but Bryan told me they will be around for the wedding, I wonder why?

Since I am jobless thanks to one arrogant mysterious customer I decided to go stay at the hospital and keep my daddy Company since I haven’t had enough time with the wedding planning. Now that the plans are over it’s daddy and daughter time.

I looked for Bryan in the house until the housekeeper told me he had gone out. So, I dropped a note and took a taxi to the hospital. I was in the hospital for a few hours then I got a sudden call from Bryan

“You need to come home now,” he says with a shaky voice

“Bryan Wassup is there a problem” I asked with a feeble voice

“Just come home” he ends the call.

I was so confused so I rushed home… I met Bryan standing outside pacing. His next words dried the air in my lungs.

“You need to get married now”… shock!
